Zen Moss Garden Revisited

  • This is an update on how the miniature zen moss garden has done the past few months.
I was unsatisfied with the small stones used for the design. The large size felt like it was to visually stimulating and heavy. I felt the scale of the composition was being compromised as a result and so I opted to replace the small stones with gray sand collected from a stream in a valley near to me.
My aim of the piece is to represent a birds eye view of an island which has an enormous ancient majestic tree which has died on it.
I feel the sand makes the „water” more “quiet” and increases the size of the island by being less visually distractive than the stones were.
Anybody feel different let me know. Always interested to hear other peoples perspective. Enjoy! 🙂

So I am curious… do you think the design change is an improvement or do you think the small stones from before were better?

@@MujoNatureArt I prefer the texture of the small stones. It gives the appearance of a "rugged coast" surrounding the island.
That's just me. It's your piece of art!
