Made your empanadas last night. I found the tapas dough at our local Mexican market. Everything went very smoothly and they were delicious. I think they took about 25-30 minutes to cook, I just kept checking on them. Thanks so much for such a delicious and fun dinner!

I watched this when I was in college and now I’m a new homeowner and this is one of the first meals I made in my new home! All these years later, I remembered Mama Bee talking about filling them well and adding egg and olive. Her recipe is perfect and made my kitchen smell heavenly! Thank you!!!

Last year, I got some tapas from a Mexican store like she said, but ended up using a store brand flaky biscuts instead (I just rolled them out). It tastes soooo much better!

My family makes empanadas but we call them pastelitos and they have this red dough and the filling is patato chicken carrot and our secret ingredient peas or green beans and we close it up fry it until crispy and for the side you have cabbage vinager oregano onion and carrot no need to cook the side and bam delish 👌👌🍗🥕🥔

My family loves empanadas! My mom makes them almost exactly as you guys do, yet when we seal we press it down with a fork so then it gets a cool pattern. I'll definitely tell my mom to try that technique out!

In the valencian country, (The spanish state), we do empanadilles (empanadas) from several foods, only peas (a little of egg may be used in the mix), tomato (with pepper sometimes and onions and egg), and spinach. the word "empanat", it is also used to describe someone who is silly or doesn-t react properly in a situtation.

I'm making chicken Pasteilillos (Dominican Empanadas) this Saturday for dinner guests. Fairly similar recipe (onions, bell peppers, tomato paste no olive or egg) and I'm deep frying and not baking them. Nice video showing how they do it down in Chile.
