    Hi. I still remembered I went there when I was 13 years old in around late November 2019 which is the same exact year this video was uploaded.

    Never sit in the front seat of a dolmuş. People will pass their money from the back for you to give the driver.

    • @FrugalTravellers
      @FrugalTravellers  5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Haha... That is very good advice as people did in fact pass money forward for the driver. However everybody was very friendly and welcoming to us so we didn't mind at all. 😁😁

    Hi Lee and Mandy, thank you for your videos, they are real help to me to plan my trip to Georgia and Turkey. I just wanted to know if there is a bus from Sarpi (the Georgian side) to Batumi once I pass the immigration? What happens if I don't have a batumi card at the Sarpi border? Hope you can help, thank you!

      Hello, and thank you so much for your lovely comment! We're so pleased our videos have been helpful to you. It has been a while since that border crossing, so any relevant information should be in the vlog as is unfortunately no longer in our memories! Wishing you all the best 😁😀

      Hello @pulzez8961, I'm planning to cross from Turkey to Georgia soon. Could you take a bus from Sarpi to Batumi ?

    Great video. I'm very late to the party here, but we're going this route in a couple of weeks and I'm a bit anxious about making our connecting bus in Hopa! I was wondering what the luggage situation is like on the dolmuses? We have small rolling suitcases and I'm unsure whether they could fit on the vans 😬

      @FrugalTravellers  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hello Charlotte. Thank you for the lovely compliment, and for your question. My approach to the luggage situation would be to be ready to put my bag/backpack/small suitcase on my lap or at my feet, just in case there wasn't any storage space on the roof or at the back. ~ Mandy

    Hey, thanks for the video, at least I get a rough idea of how to cross the border from Georgia to Turkey. I'm planning to travel to Trabzon from Batumi next month.
    Plan after looking at your video:
    - Take a bus to Sarpi border at Batumi
    - Walk with your luggage to cross the border and clear the immigration
    - At Turkey border, take a mini van/ bus to Trabzon.
    Question is, I can't find the timetable for the bus to Trabzon, where and how do I get the bus ticket?

    • @FrugalTravellers
      @FrugalTravellers  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Jamie. This blog post we wrote explains a lot more.
      frugaltravellers.com/sarpi-border-crossing-georgia-to-turkey/
      You can get a dolmus from the border to Hopa bus station and a bus from there to Trabzon. You can buy a ticket at the bus station or click on the links on the blog post to some of the bus companies and comparison sites to see timetables and potentially buy tickets in advance.
      Best of luck and happy travels.

      The ticket you can buy direcly from the bus driver! The bus is waiting for you when it leaves the 2nd bus will be there as well this means you enter the bus and wait untill they are leaving.

      There are direct buses with Metro between Batumi and Trabzon but you will pay a lot more for the convenience.

      @Mannan Mir It's forbidden to take photos or videos at border control in most countries, so we put our phones away.
