Yes I am aware that the video is flipped. Im having issues with copyright so im doing everything I can to not get things blocked. I mainly had this flipped for another video that I uploaded earlier and forgot to flip it back for Nightwish. I know that Nightwish wont block my videos though. Ive already had 1 video blocked worldwide today so I flipped the image on my Warning video so that one didnt get blocked too. I hope yall understand 😊💖

I actually really like that little mirror view, it's kind of made it a little different! I will give you 2 suggestions. For a uplifting "ballade" Ever Dream is the one, If you want to go on the Metal side of Nightwish; i would go next with Song of Myself. For both songs the Wacken 2013 version is fire !!!.
Mind blowing that the lyrics were written by someone to whom English is not his first language and yet those of us who have been speaking it all our lives often struggle with them. Tuomas uses a lot of poetical imagery and often the songs are linked to others on the album. Phrases like 'ocean born' and 'dead boy' refer to him: he wanted to be an oceanographer and the theme of the particular album was about mourning the loss of the innocence of his youth
I have to look up at least one word per album even though I'm a native speaker and I was an English major. Perfume of the Timeless has two, but both are Greek, so they don't count. Lol
Emppu is the guitarist and he always seems to be happy. He along with the keyboardist Tuomas are the only original members of the band. He really seems like a delightful person, a bit of a prankster, but always comes across as a joy to be around.
Not Empoo. Just look for the video " How to Pronounce all the NIGHTWISH Names Like a Finn ". Emppu is on that video at 6:37. Most translators are also good at pronouncing Finnish, because letters are always pronounced the same, no matter which word it is.
@robertsheeler321 I think the "windmilling" is the trademark of (maybe invented by?) Blackie Lawless from the American band W.A.S.P. Watch their official 1984 music video "I Wanna Be Somebody" it's near the end of the video.
The lead guitar is Emmpu, and yes, we should all enjoy our job as much as he does. The drummer here is Jukka. He had to step down for medical reasons and Kai is their new drummer. Both are amazing in their own way. Tuomas Holopainen is the songwriter and keyboardist. Marko is on Bass, and Troy is special instruments. And, of course, our Valkyrie Queen, Floor Jansen. All are huge, towering talents.
It’s about the creativity and storytelling abilities of mankind, and probably of Tuomas himself. Also, the innocence and awe of childhood, a recurring theme with Tuomas. Emppu, the guitarist is usually smiling, having fun, and a bit of a prankster. Keep exploring Nightwish! Maybe start out a little bit softer… with Ever Dream.
This is our Valkyrie Goddess for you. And you witnessed a second time a "Dutch Windmill" , and to finish you off, The Operatic "Cruise Missile" !!!! Floor has 3 distinct styles !!!! Head banging(straight forward, then back), hair whip(almost like cracking a bull whip) and the Windmill(continuous 360 degree revolutions). Why Windmill? Well she is Dutch. Awesome tune , although it is kind of a pop/rockish sound (originally sung by Anette, the second singer of Nightwish), but Floor gave it soooo much POWER !!! Including this "Operatic" part, what was originally done by children's choir because vocal limitations on their second singer (Great singer also, I might add), but Floor has none of that "Limit". NWSU/FloorFan/Epican/Ayreonaut/TWA 🤘😎🤘.

I agree. I suggest to all NW reactors to go through this 2013 concert before moving forward or backwards in time. It provides the perfect foundation for those new to NW.
In my opinion, the empty crib of Peter Pan means the start of Peter's story (not of the book) when he decides to follow his imagination to escape a pre-determined future/life. IIRC, when asked about his past, Peter says to Wendy he overheard a statement of his father who wanted him to became a doctor / lawyer / politician or whatever society-wise respected and well-established job would have been at that time, and after thinking "Nope! Not for me!", he decided to flew away to Never Never Land. 👋🇮🇹🖖

Empu's smile is priceless, can you imagine if you had Empu and Akane (Band maid drumer) in the same band, There could not be any band with more smiles than that!!
The creepy (Halloween movie?) vibe at the start is intentional. The Nightwish movie "Imaginaerum" will explain - even the trailer! Yes! Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland, Sleeping Beauty (the kiss), Mary Poppins (chimneys and moonlight), "The Kite that went to the Moon" - E. Sharp 1899.... .... Childhood innocence and wonder - why grow out of it? Jukka "Yooka" on drums is a beast! So active and so into the music! edited for typo.
Thanks for sharing your genuine reaction to a song about the beauty of storytelling and imagination. The song suggests that within each person is a "crib of Peter Pan," a reference to the timeless children's story, which holds the potential to bring stories to life and provide a refuge from reality. P.S. Emppu, the guitarist, is a real showman & is always doing something funny and/or playing tricks with especially Floor. P.S. It seems that smart Pepper also likes Nightwish.,
This concert was magical, Wacken Open Air had a huge list of bands, Alice Cooper was on just before. "Fairytale vibe", I love the bass intro (That's Marko, with long hair and long beard). The lead purple guitar, smiling at the crowd; Emppu, is a height contrast with Floor. "Meshing together a bunch of Fairytales". The imagination of Tuomas, on keyboards. You could pull up the lyrics on another device, but you might get drawn into reading that! The drummer, wow, Jukka (Yukka). For those of us who have seen this hundreds of times (yep, true), we notice the audience with National flags, the guys with the pink inflatable guitar (The Three Musketeers!).
A group that you may not know either, here is a triology of them: MONO INC. - Welcome To Hell MONO INC. feat. Eric Fish - A Vagabond's Life MONO INC. - Long Live Death Another band from Germany that puts a lot of heart into their music. The frontman was a drummer in his old band, he was looking for a female singer and now look what has become of it.
You are reacting to two of my favorite bands. Nightwish and The Warning. Found them both to be the best LIVE performers I have ever seen. Your GLS reaction, well, it's been a while since I saw someone react to NW the same way I did, except I cried bigger tears. Welcome to the adventure!!!
This DVD in the German city of Wacken a Floor was a guest singer to finish the tour. No song was recorded with Floor's voice and only in 2015 did we have an album with Floor on vocals in the studio.
Hello Lanae, this is the first time I've discovered you here on TH-cam. I've been following Nightwish for 10 years now, I'm no longer a member of the youth myself and I'm from Germany. The lyrics of Nightwish are indeed not easy, but they are damn profound. Nightwish helped me to learn and understand English, but they also helped me to understand my own language, German. Nightwish can also change your life, because they don't just make music, they bring a message. Please listen to "the greates Show on Earth", you need a lot of time, it's more than one song. Now you have discovered metal from Europe, I also recommend the band "Beyond the Black" from Germany. I had tears in my eyes when I saw how you like the music of Nightwish, how you react, simply fantastic.
Wacken 2013 starring Nightwish and co-starring the 80,000 is..wow!! The energy this band always creates with their crowd connection is incredible!! Welcome aboard the Nightwish express. It takes you away. You don’t know where they’ll take you but you know it going to be friggin’ epic every time . Sensory overload….and Floorgasms..NW style!!
I love your joy. So do I. Every song feels uplifting to me even when the content is angey. Floor and Emppu are smiling and crying together on stage. ❣️🤘Please do Tribal 2023 live compilation compilation.
ok, first off I agree with the other commenters about researching first "The Poet an Pendulum" it willhelp you, and good news bad news-yes as others have said I think Empuu is the glue that keeps their spirits up,the only time I can remember him being somber is, the solo on "Dead Boys Poem, live Buenos Aires", now the bad or sad news, the drummer (Jukka) is still with them but not their drummer (health issues) and the bass player/vocals (Marco) is also not with them also health, the new drummer is Kai and new Bass is another Jukka both from the band "Wintersun", I just mention that so that when you venture away from Wacken to their other songs you may be puzzled but have no fear you'll still think each next one you hear is your new best favorate, that doesn't change. LOL
I think it's wise to react to Wacken 2013 gig because that gig was absolutely legendary. Every song performed there is still the best performance of the song ever, live and studio versions included. My personal favorite is Ghost River from the same show. In addition to Wacken 2013 songs, you should also react to The Poet And The Pendulum from Wembley 2015 show and The Greatest Show On Earth from Tampere 2015 show (the latter song is not egoistic but it's a song about a book with identical title).
Not just yet, but further on in your journey, ‘I want my tears back’ live in Buenos Aries in 2019. A very happy and dancing Floor. The crowd went berserk!
@@lanaeshonestopinion yes, i understand. my experience: you will have no problem with NW-songs on TH-cam concerning copyright. sometimes reactors have a problem with Beste Zangers-Stuff with Floor.
Personally I think you should do everything from this Wacken show, then onto other shows like Wembley 2015, Tampere 2016, Buenos Aires 2018, Hellfest 2022 and then go back to 2005 End of an Era with original singer Tarja Tarunnen. Of course there's also a whole load of music videos worth taking a look at. As for your next reaction, maybe check out opening song Dark Chest of Wonders, it's totally epic 🤘
Hey, can you check out Nightwish scaretale live with Annette Olzen the second singer, and then live with Floor Jansen in Helsinki festival in 2012, awesome request 😊
Whatever singer you watch with this band, definitely stick with live versions. They sound better live than in studio. I know that sounds crazy, but it's true
if you want to hear Jukka really drum, listen to Planet Hell from the end of and era video. It will introduce you to Tarja, and there is a studio version with Annette. his drumming is phenomenal.
Another great reaction! Yeah, Gabriel's list he used to include in the comments directly, but I reckon he moved it to his "Community" tab because TH-cam's comment window has a character limit, and he had to use several linked replies to fit it all. I've been down that road too and know what a pain in the doopa it becomes after a while. ... For a minute there, I thought I was in Australia because Floor's windmills were spinning clockwise instead of counterclockwise! 🤣🤣 ....... And hi again, Pepper! Loved his cameo this time. Pepper has a ginger cousin!!?? Cuteness overload! 😻😻
Nightwish Army Southwest Michigan Division checking in. Your reaction showed up on my radar and I look forward to following you as you continue to discover more of this incredible band.
No doubt that eventually you will come to Poet and the Pendulum. I strongly urge you to do a little bit of homework before watching. It will make so much more sense knowing where Toumas was coming from when he wrote it. Nightwish Army MN Division checking in!
If you like the drummer so much (as do I), check out Everdream from the same concert. His use of the double bass in the final part of that song is just out of this world. As regards lyrics: I can only speak for myself of course but although lyrics are quite important to me, the first time I hear a song is not the moment for focusing on lyrics. The first time I hear a song I just let it all come over me and I look at the lyrics when I’m a bit more familiar with the song. So I completely understand you when you say that there’s so much to take in that you can’t focus on the lyrics (yet). Love your enthusiasm! Keep it up! 😎
My 2 cents worth about Nightwish lyrics and first-time listens: don't worry too much about them. Tuomas (keyboard player who writes the vast majority of the music and lyrics) writes from a very personal, introspective place, which often makes the lyrics a bit hard to decode, especially for someone new to the band. The important thing, I think, for a first time listen is to just let it wash over you and instead of picking up on the meaning of the lyrics, pick up on the emotions being expressed, which is really the most important thing first time around. You know when you reacted to Ghost Love Score and you got teary-eyed but you didn't know why? You were feeling the emotions as Floor is so good at expressing through her voice. The lyrics and meaning of them will come easier as you get more familiar with the band and, especially, with Tuomas.

Unfortunately Jukka, the drummer left the band after this. He was suffering with severe insomnia and left for health reasons. He is still involved with the band on a management level. Marko Hietala has also left the band, he is the bass guitarist. The last two albums they have released are very different to this kind of music, the era from Ghost love score (2004) through to endless forms most beautiful (2015) are the best IMO. Imaginaerum, the album released just before Wacken 2013 is a magical kind of fairytale scenario. Storytime and also last ride of the day are from this album. The band also made a movie at the same time, containing some of the songs, You have no idea the size of the rabbit hole you have just entered.
😂😂 Just enjoy the videos. There is so much in this beautiful music it will drive you insane😂😂 But you are lucky between Gabriel and the Night Wish army They will guide you in your journey.
I would encourage you to go back to the comments on your Ghost Love Score video and read the whole comment Gabriel (the defacto general of the Nightwish Army) posted. You will get a concise history of the band and a great list of videos to follow to give you a great taste of just how diverse this band is in it's music.
Empuu (The Hobbit) is the lead guitarist. You're right, he's a riot as he runs around throwing picks into the crowd, winking at the ladies while he burns his chords down to the ground. Marko's bass lines always standout, it's like you feel a second heartbeat in your chest - Marko's a thumper. The further you go down the rabbit hole you'll see Tuomas is driven by the love of the sea. His sea shanties like the "Islander" will give you an idea. His love for miracle of planet Earth in space is also close. His songs are about fairy tales, journeys, the sea, and so much more. You're doin' good and you're fun to watch. ENJOY THE RIDE
Enjoyed your reaction and your energy. One suggestion regarding the lyrics would be to just listen to the performance and enjoy it and then come back later and read the lyrics on camera and talk about what they mean to you. I have seen several other reactors use this formula which allows for a deep dive into the lyrics. Given how poetic Tuomas's lyrics usually are it is time well spent. This song is from their Imaginaerium album, a concept album based on an old composer on his death bed reliving the memories of his life. One of Tuomas's favorite topics or themes in his music is lost innocence. As a poet and artist Tuomas values the sense of wonder and imagination that innocent children have. In Storytime the composer is remembering the joy he got from childhood tales, thus the references to Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland (Tuomas often uses literary references in his lyrics and as inspiration for songs). It is through these childhood stories that we discover ourselves and who we are (I am the story that will read you real). Song is inspired by a popular British Christmas movie The Snowman. Storytime" was born when Tuomas wondered why no-one had made a remake of the film, and pondered on what his version of the score to the scene in which "Walking in the Air" plays would sound like. Tuomas "How would it feel to take a midnight flight with a snowman through the most wondrous landscapes, like in the classic animated Yuletide film? The meaning of our very existence is created though stories, tales and imagination. They are at the very core of humanity." Walking on the Air is a very popular Christmas song in the UK and Finland and Nightwish did a beautiful cover of it with their first singer Tarja that is worth reacting to. th-cam.com/video/9icKP1b44TA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=a7uPqKXv_VRsBsQe

For those of us who have seen this hundreds of times (yep, true), we notice the audience with National flags,
the guys with the pink inflatable guitar (The Three Musketeers!).
That orange cat energy behind you at 7:40 is everything ahahahahaha
A group that you may not know either, here is a triology of them:
MONO INC. - Welcome To Hell
MONO INC. feat. Eric Fish - A Vagabond's Life
MONO INC. - Long Live Death
Another band from Germany that puts a lot of heart into their music.
Dark Chest of Wonders is the first song in this same concert. Same vibe as Story Time and fantastic opener!
Just an FYI, it is pronounced "Vah-ken". In German that W is pronounced as a V.
Ever dream should be next on your list 👍
Seems like you really enjoy music of Nightwish. Great reaction again. Next "something little softer":" Everdream" from the same concert?
Hello Lanae,
this is the first time I've discovered you here on TH-cam.
🤗🍒🤘🏻😘 well done again
Glad to hear you enjoyed your first #floorgasm many more to come
ok, first off I agree with the other commenters about researching first "The Poet an Pendulum" it willhelp you, and good news bad news-yes as others have said I think Empuu is the glue that keeps their spirits up,the only time I can remember him being somber is, the solo on "Dead Boys Poem, live Buenos Aires", now the bad or sad news, the drummer (Jukka) is still with them but not their drummer (health issues) and the bass player/vocals (Marco) is also not with them also health, the new drummer is Kai and new Bass is another Jukka both from the band "Wintersun", I just mention that so that when you venture away from Wacken to their other songs you may be puzzled but have no fear you'll still think each next one you hear is your new best favorate, that doesn't change.
Many Nightwish songs are about imagination and keeping or finding again your inner child. I love this band, great you do too!
Keep them coming, loving your reactions.'greatest show on earth' next???
Told ya!
Oh, and BTW, it's pronounced like Vokken
Enjoy your Nightwish! journey!
short info: your screen with NW is mirrored at least the one you show to public....wrong side.
Yes i know. Its to help with copyright. Since i did that, this song didnt get copyrighted like the other 2 I posted.
@@lanaeshonestopinion yes, i understand. my experience: you will have no problem with NW-songs on TH-cam concerning copyright. sometimes reactors have a problem with Beste Zangers-Stuff with Floor.
With the reversed screen, the lyrics are there at the bottom of the screen, and are mirrored as well.
Pepper is cute.
I love the cat cameo. And of course I love the name.
😂😂😂no one understand the lyrics from Nightwish the first couple of times😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤
Choose your own path you will not go wrong.
Jukka is my fav drummer of all time.
The Greatest Show on Earth (Live in Tampere)
Great reaction to a great song 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Try Everdream next from the same concert 🔥🔥🔥
Flip whatever you want - I am with you.
Also a very energetic song
NIGHTWISH - The Poet And The Pendulum
Also filled with very profound lyrics.
They are sister kitties 😸
Nightwish Army Southwest Michigan Division checking in. Your reaction showed up on my radar and I look forward to following you as you continue to discover more of this incredible band.
Nightwishalisciousness! 🤟🤪
Another great reaction, Thank you😊👍
No doubt that eventually you will come to Poet and the Pendulum.
👌👌🤘🤘
Such a head banger.

Tuomas is a genius
Hello Lanae! NW Army Brazil here. Your cat is so cute ❤
About as close as Nightwish gets to a 4/4 verse-chorus-bridge rock & roll song- and it's perfection!
2 of my fav songs rarely get reactions. Planet Hell and The Escapist. The Poet and the Pendulum is my fav.
I love Scaretale. No idea how I forgot that one.
Nightwish Army Sweden eastern division ready for duty. Napalm Records do not block enything. Nice name of a record company...
😂😂 Just enjoy the videos. There is so much in this beautiful music it will drive you insane😂😂 But you are lucky between Gabriel and the Night Wish army They will guide you in your journey.
I saw your kitty wanted a piece of the action 🐈
I would encourage you to go back to the comments on your Ghost Love Score video and read the whole comment Gabriel (the defacto general of the Nightwish Army) posted. You will get a concise history of the band and a great list of videos to follow to give you a great taste of just how diverse this band is in it's music.
Love your reactions. You're extremely perceptive in your insights into this band. Keep being that nerd you are.😀
❤❤❤
Your cats provided their own storytime. 😸😾
Maybe Ever dream or Song of myself from the same concert next
a new view to a storytelling song. haha, we don't mind..
If you've not done Ever Dream from the same Wacken show yet, that's well worth it
Nice reaction as always, but are you aware that your fans are seeing a "flipped" image?
Yes I am. Its to help with copyright issues. Because i flipped this image, I didnt get copyrighted so it worked.
@lanaeshonestopinion Just fyi NW never blocks their videos. They love their fans that much!
wait soon you will hear amazing tunes by Troy too😀
