      @@skipmagil They should have just renamed themselves the SoCal Chargers, or something along those lines, so they could have better kept their SD fans. SoFi stadium isn't even technically in LA (it's in Inglewood), and the 2 hour drive from SD really isn't so bad if you're only making it for the 8 home games per year.

    • @scotttild
      @scotttild 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Two main reasons. 1 The city and the 49ers never got along once Eddy D left. 2 The city wanted all kinds of absurd conditions for any agreement and 3 the 49ers and the York's didn't want to at that location they wanted to be down closer to the HQ. Eddy was all set to rebuild there until his gambling stuff came out and he had to sell to his sister who was an idiot. It would not have been a bad site for football if the stadium was built right. Baseball it is dreadful.

  • @ec1628
    @ec1628 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    The Yale Bowl was the inspiration for the Rose Bowl.
    Cal’s Stadium is built on an earthquake fault. There’s a gap in the stands where the ground is creeping.
    Also, why do you keep harping on roofs in CA? We don’t need them here. Plus the Dodger midweek day games are brutal not because of the weather, but because of traffic. You get to fight traffic in the parking lot. You can’t get out of the lot since the freeways are gridlocked. Once you leave the lot, you get to deal with Downtown LA traffic. Terrible experience.

  • @briansguy
    @briansguy 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Regarding Sofi, Sunday night games are the best here (5pm start), although Monday night or Thursday night games not bad either for the same reasons.
    Day games are OK but the roof doesn't really block the glare of the sun. Imagine having the lightest available tint on your driver's side car window and it's the same result.
    Also it's not 72 degrees inside, on a 90 degree day which is pretty common it will be about 80-85 degrees inside on the upper levels. If it's a true night game and 55 degrees and windy outside, it will be about 60 degrees and breezy inside the stadium (at least the upper levels). It's a good stadium to walk around the middle levels however and VIP areas and suites are super nice.
    I kinda like Levi's even though it's pretty basic by 2020's standards... and took forever to leave (by train/bus) when I went there in 2015. I also go to Angel Stadium a lot and it's not that bad at all, just needs a few new tweaks and will be good for another 15-20 years to buy time to fund a new stadium or figure out what to do next.

    I know in California only the A's for Major League Baseball need a new stadium very bad, while I Love my favorite NFL team stadium the 49ers

    So mad. Chase center doesnt have a hockey rink under the floor. The sharks could have played there.

      Why would the Sharks move to SF? That would be stupid

    Wrong!! The roof magnifies the sun and makes it unbearable in the early 1pm kickoffs early season, and with all sides open the air does not flow well through it.

    Should have included the football/soccer specific stadiums, overall i agreed with the majority of your assessments. I'm from Northern California and have gone to SD and some LA stadiums and Arenas. I love the 49ers but Levi stadium is fucking ugly on the exterior and they should have built-in some canopy at the very least.
