32:17 Homu labs is GREAT! I too would recommend watching the HI3 animations. The writer of this is Shaoji. The same person who wrote the story for Penacony.
The animations come from climactic moments at the end of chapters, so they are missing context on their own. You can still watch them, but watching while playing the game is a more complete experience. The PVs (trailers) can be watched independently. But as was said elsewhere, the official listing is not updated somehow. You could use a fan list, or just follow along on the official channel without a playlist.
The two male leads of the two major factions are "bad and good", in a very twisted sense lmao. For Otto, he is definitely evil, and will go rot in hell, and is 1000% iredeemable. But ironically all his evil deeds ended up saving humanity in the end (by advancing technology, understanding of honkai, and nurturing the main characters' combat capabilities), while also fulfilling his own goal of saving his girlfriend. For Kevin, his goal will save humanity, but it's at the cost of 99% of humanity, which is unacceptable from a moral perspective for the main characters group. But beggers can't be choosers, if the protagonist group wasn't able to pass Kevin's trials, his plan would actually be the last safety net that ensures "human" existence. It's just very fortunate that the main characters DID passed his trials, and was able to saving humanity with less cost than Kevin's fail safe plan. And Kevin, satisfied with his great-great-great-great x 50 granddaughter Kiana, who passed his trials and gained control of all honkai energy of the cacoon, finally can rest in peace and retire and passed on to the afterlife to reunite with his comrades from 50,000 years ago.
Most of the Honkaiverse characters originally came from _Houkai Gakuen 2_ , which is also called _GunGirlsZ_ . Kiana is from their first game as Mihoyo, _FlyMe2TheMoon_ .

She manifested in a body that has 50K years worth of memories and the context of said memories, but did not live through any of them nor learned the lessons that were gained from them (such as the time where Fu Hua had a no tolerance policy for Honkai corruption, and mercilessly killed anyone, men, women, children, babies, who had the slightest bit of it. Even her adopted children were afraid that she would kill one of them because they had a benign, negligible amount. So, they ganged up and killed her, ripping her limb from limb. This took her a decade to recover from and a ton of regrets). And so, her approach is similar to how a rebellious child thinks when they need to resolve a complex, adult issue: Simple, brute force. However, Senti is not evil. Her actions are not out of malice. Some are out of petty spite, some are due to wanting to be accepted, etc. Fu Hua sees her as a younger sister, Kiana and company see her as a friend.
_HI3_ doesn't really have heroes or villains, they have arc protagonists and antagonists. Even with Otto as an example, while he is pretty universally hated by players for the things he's done (all for the sake of resurrecting his lost love Kallen Kaslana BTW), we also respect the Hell out of him for his persistence, and brilliance in finding different methods for trying to achieve his goal. And without him, neither the atrocities he committed nor the world's salvation would have happened. But even with Otto, the world still wouldn't have been saved if Elysia hadn't opened up the possibility in the first place.
Every time Welt Yang is mentioned in this video, it refers to the same welt yang as in HSR. His mentor is Welt Joyce, who died long before the main story and so is barely mentioned. Also those arent the actual in universr Einstein and Tesla, they are their decendants. Frederica Tesla is Welt Yang's wife.

Its better if you watch the summaries and chronicles of individual chapters and characters from both HI3rd official channel and homulabs to get a better idea. The 20 minute video kinda rushes through and gives a good general idea but unless u sit down and piece it together its too much crammed in to understand on one quick view. Us HI3rd players are happy to clear up anything tho. There are also no true evil villians in the story. They all just have their own goals.
Cocolia is also adopted mother to bronya in honkai 3rd , her relations is same in HSR and she also manipulative you wont know til you play through story since its not mentioned in lore videos

The first video is overwhelming, thinking from the standpoint of someone new. This is because of the sheer, breakneck speed with which Homu Labs just mentions things, and then moves on without going into depth. It's more of a survey-level info dump than an explanation, really. And atypical of his videos since he usually goes into great detail on specific aspects. I wouldn't say it's a replacement for 'Introduction to the Honkai-verse,' however the primary reason I think it's good is because it includes the updated information that's changed over the years since Mihoyo released their info video.
Couple of things. 1. I have no idea why Homu Labs says this but in Chapter 1 Bronya's chip is not hacked. There is literally zero evidence for that. The chip seems to malfunction and enter some kind of maintenance subroutine because it was exposed to Honkai Energy from the Ship's engines. 2. The extra fucked part about the chips is the it's main purpose is to help Bronya. She had severe damage to the nerves in her legs due to an her first attempt to bring Seele back from the Sea of Quanta. The chip was implanted to help her walk. And the fact that Cocolia, the person overseeing the X-10 Experiment which stranded Seele and then caused Bronya's injury, the same person that had the chip created and implanted into Bronya's brain to help her, then used that chip to basically remote control her is Extra Fucked Up. EDIt: More things. 1. Einstein is a woman. 2. Both she and Tesla are not actually direct genderbends like you would see in for example Fate. Both are relatives of the Historical people of those names. Einstein is if I remember correctly the OG Einstein's niece and Tesla is I think the OG one's daughter. Since such people didn't actually exist IRL HoYo gets to have their female versions without messing with the Historical figures directly. They do this with a number of other Historical figures though this level of restraint from just genderbending characters is not always present. 3. It's worth noting that with the last overhaul of the early chapters it takes about 4-5 hours max to get to the cinematic where Himeko dies. If you are a game only person this is all the time you have to get to know Himeko. Despite that HoYo manage to make her loss so visceral and impactful that from my personal observation at least 80% of players cry to that cinematic. 4. It's the same Welt Yang. His real name is Joachim, and the boy is an avatar of his will operating the bubble universe tests. That is what Welt looked like as a kid. 5. As others have mentioned already Sentience is pretty much a child at that point. She's been alive for about 2-3 weeks and just cause she has Hua's memories it doesn't mean she really understands them or their meaning. A lot of her behavior is childish because that's about the emotional capacity she has. Hell even later in 1.5 Story when she's been around for a couple of years she's still pretty childish, though it could be that she just likes the escape from responsibility acting like that allows her. 6. Griseo fell asleep in a 12y.o. body and woke up aged up to 20 y.o. and with booba. I can only imagine the shit this girl is still getting used to. Mind you Griseo had that first form for thousands of years. It was either exposure to the energies of the interstellar medium or to those of SA that made her aging possible. And it still took several hundred (couple of thousand? it's not very clear) years for her to age as much as she did. Yeah. That's way too much story to reasonably fit into 2o minutes and still have it make proper sense. As much as I think a lot of people are overestimating Homu Labs he is kind of the only one on YT that does the lore proper justice and does proper research (I just don't agree with all his conclusions... just most of them). So yeah. Watch his other videos for proper context. You can also watch Honkai Operations Center Chronicles for official character story recaps but those do have some odd inaccuracies.
Definitely watch more Homu Lab videos. There's SO much more detail and lots that wasn't even brought up in this video.
