- Chuckwalla Valley Raceway, 70 miles east of Palm Springs, CA, is now open! I just did two days there and it is a really fun track! About 2.8 miles and pretty technical. As you can see, it really keeps you working! Some nice elevation changes and a cool long banked corner.
Check it out for track map and event schedules at www.chuckwallavalleyraceway.com.
You need to drive it!!!
Great driving! This is the best onboard video I found at Chuckwalla on youtube.
I like the look of this road course...
This looks like a great track with high speed sweepers and banked turns.
I can't wait to give it a go. yeah!
I was there on Friday and could not be more impressed with the facility, the people I met, and the quality of the cars that showed up to give this place its first turns!
I posted a blog entitled "Chuckwalla Valley Raceway Opens To The Press, BBQ, & Stellar Rides" (copy & paste in search) at ... notes from The EDJE.
Thanks for the run around Phase 1 at CVR - good run!
That was my first day on track and I loved driving it. Keeps you really busy, but without the high speed sections of Big WIllow. I really like them, as well, but for track day newbies, and I love new people coming out, those sections can be intimidating. Not so here, just lots of fun with lots of runoff, if needed.
Thanks for the nice words. It's a fun track. I was just starting to get a little feel for it, but my tires were really going away, so traction was not so good. Too many heat cycles. I like the non-supercharged cars. They are a little lighter and more agile. Also, without a lot of horsepower, you have to make up time in the corners. I think new tires and an alignment will help.
Thanks. It is a great track. As I drive it more, I am changing a few lines, but this is still pretty close. I might shoot another soon to give an update.

Your try looks very nice and there are still some ways of your lap times improvement. Could you de me a favor and clarify - are there any rent companies who can give a car for a trackday on Chuckwalla? How much would it cost? Thanks in advance!
I was on a dying set of Toyo 888's. Great tires, but just at the end of their lives.
