Please note that since this video was filmed, ANCAP awarded the 2023 Nissan Pathfinder a maximum five-star safety rating.

Can the Hyundai Palisade turn off the speed warning chimes yet? No. Pathfinder wins

No, Palisade and new 2023 Kluger are much better. The Pathfinder is 10 years behind the times. Will again; like 2022, be a poor seller in Australia.

No CVT in this new model.

Usual misinformed simpleton. Nissan had CVT issues with the first R52 model. From R52 Series 2, they reengineered the CVT and the new one has a traditional automatic anyway.

Given their similar pricing, how does it compare to any of the Everest V6 models?

Everest is based on a Mazda-derived ute - different type of car

My last pathfinder (the outgoing model, R52) had the gearbox replaced twice under warranty. My neighbour, had it replaced once. There were literally thousands of gearboxes replaced worldwide to fix a shaking/juddering on light acceleration.
In my case, the way this was fixed was they made it "lazy" as per your description. Ultimately the car I test drove was a sharp, fast accelerating thing but it became a slow lazy turd after the second gearbox replacement. Nissan's handling of the worldwide debacle was also abysmal. They flat out denied it to start and it took a class action lawsuit to get them to listen.
Your description leads me to believe that they really haven't fixed the problem, they have just hidden it by castrating the engine. Yes I understand the cvt is out replaced by the 9 speed but I don't believe that should excuse the laziness. I wouldn't buy another Nissan. I certainly wouldn't buy another mexican/USA built Nissan Pathfinder (as is this one). Steer clear of the hype. Buy the cx9, palisade or kluger instead.

This car isn’t lazy. I test drove it and it’s quicker than all the other 7-8seaters in my market. Gets to 100km/h in under 7s.
I understand your position given your experience but they seemed have addressed the problem as far as I can tell. A bad CVT transmission. Personally I am not into CVTs so much I just don’t buy cars with them except being small cars like the Honda Fit etc.
