Hello, very well done video, thank you for all the patient explanations. I looked at quite a few Kraken AIO's video reviews and installations lately and most are very rushed and not so detailed. There is no fan splitter cable. It literally connects to the cables from the pump top. Exactly how I explained it. If you actually owned one you'd know that lol 🤣

On the off chance you know anything about the X63 tho...I just ended up plugging the pump into the CPU fan header and the fan splitter cable into the SYS fan header and plugged the two radiator fans and one front case fan into that....hopefully its right. @@GearSeekers It isnt though, you never plug in the fan splitter because on the Z73 and Z63 its connected to the pump. The X63 comes with a fan splitter that is completely separate from the unit. But yea given that my fan splitter cable is completely separate from the unit and only has a 4 pin connector...Would it be better to plug the 4 pin fan splitter cable into the CPU FAN header and then plug the 3 pin connector on the pump into it along with the 2 fans OR keep the pump and fans separated and plug the 3 pin connector on the pump into the CPU FAN header by itself and then plug the fan splitter with the 2 fans into the SYS FAN header on the motherboard? I have also been noticing every so often a "buzzing/clicking" noise does this go away after awhile? I think its coming from the radiator fans. Currently it is installed the same as the old one. I notice that with the way you mounted it for the TR4 you won't be able to utilize all DIMMs as the USB and power connector to the pump will take up space over the most inner DIMM.
Sorry if I missed it, but where to connect the fan-splitter cable at 11:21 on the mainboard? Do I use the CPU_FAN header for this? Because if I understood correctly, the 3-Pin "fan"-cable from the pump should be connected to the CPU_OPT header, right?!
@geekseekers wrong fan setting in front of the case the air flow direction hot air will go in the case since the radiator is attached inside the case, hot air will flow inside the case
Gear Seekers hmm.. kinda confused. I installed my kraken yesterday night and everything was working fine. Booted up today, and cam wouldn’t detect the pump. Plus my system would reboot itself. Unplugged the pump from cpu opt to cpu fan, and everything seems to be working fine atm... 🤔. (Btw, thank you so much for the fast replies. I really really appreciate that!! ♥️)

What is the cable at 11:23 that you plug the fans into? Does it come with the cooler? And what do those cables plug into other than the fans? Like do they plug into the power supply?
NZXT recommends installing the tubes exiting the right(3 o'clock) or towards the bottom(6 o'clock). So for the 4 sticks I mounted mine on the bottom while my radiator is on top of the case.
It depends on the case. Most 360 rads have to be mounted tubes up at the front. The only difference is noise. It's negligible anyways. It does not damage the pump. I've had systems with front mount AIOs for 10+ years with no issues.
thank you brother for replyng. im setting up my rig the next few days. and i cant decide how to mount mu radiator. i choose nzxt 510 elite and nzxt x 53.. do you reccomend mounting my radiator tube up with this spec. thank you
Lian Li could really up the game and make the push pull reversable on fan sets in the app, and include stickers for the back like the front, and also some RGB on the rear support bars, that would blow minds.

Probably a stupid question, but what if you're using different fans than what came with the cooler? What do you do with all those extra wires from the pump?
I can't believe you did not do any temperature tests. Did NZXT prohibit you from doing this? I'm curious what a 2nd or 3rd gen Threadripper temps would be under load with this Z73 Kraken cooler. Can't find information on this anywhere.
Hello, thanks for the video super helpful but I have a question. Can I plug the fans (not using the ones that came with the Aio) into the motherboard directly or do I have to plug them into the splitter that was provided? Thanks in advance.

Got this cooler on Black Friday! 😎
This helped so much! Thanks GS
@geekseekers wrong fan setting in front of the case the air flow direction hot air will go in the case since the radiator is attached inside the case, hot air will flow inside the case
Incorrect
Nzxt plus other tutorials ive seen recommend plugging in the pump in cpu fan rather than cpu opt. Which one is the correct way?
CPU opt
Gear Seekers hmm.. kinda confused. I installed my kraken yesterday night and everything was working fine. Booted up today, and cam wouldn’t detect the pump. Plus my system would reboot itself. Unplugged the pump from cpu opt to cpu fan, and everything seems to be working fine atm... 🤔. (Btw, thank you so much for the fast replies. I really really appreciate that!! ♥️)
TYVM, I just installed mine by following this vid.
Man thank you for that amazing crisp clean tutorial. Quality is just beautiful. Sadly I ran to a little problem. I got the asus rog crosshair hero viii. I got 3 of these 4 pin headers, CPU-OPT, CPU-FAN and AIO-PUMP. I got the nzxt z63. Which one of these should I pick, does it make a difference? I would be really happy if u could help me out as fast as possible, I’m afraid that it doesn’t work properly. Thanks so far tho!
I am having the same issue!!! Please tell me how you fixed it 😩
@@brittneycooch6965 Connect the 3-pin connector on the breakout cable set to the
4-pin CPU_FAN or AIO_PUMP connector on the motherboard.
thats the connector for the pump tach
@@ney9207 I actually have a deal pump. New out of the box, so I’m having to contact NZXT about it. Thank you for replying back to me tho!
What is the cable at 11:23 that you plug the fans into? Does it come with the cooler? And what do those cables plug into other than the fans? Like do they plug into the power supply?
Which way would you recommend to rotate the pump tubes if I'm using 4 sticks of ram? Top, bottom or the opposite side? Great vid by the way!
NZXT recommends installing the tubes exiting the right(3 o'clock) or towards the bottom(6 o'clock). So for the 4 sticks I mounted mine on the bottom while my radiator is on top of the case.
Great video.. Very clearly explained.. Helped me a lot in building my first system
what is your insight regarding front mounting radiator. top tubes or tubes bottom?. saw lot reviews that encourages to mount radiator tubes down.
It depends on the case. Most 360 rads have to be mounted tubes up at the front. The only difference is noise. It's negligible anyways. It does not damage the pump. I've had systems with front mount AIOs for 10+ years with no issues.
thank you brother for replyng. im setting up my rig the next few days. and i cant decide how to mount mu radiator. i choose nzxt 510 elite and nzxt x 53.. do you reccomend mounting my radiator tube up with this spec. thank you
Gear Seekers: What a time to be alive! 2020 is looking very cool for all things tech!
Me: Yesn't
This video was so helpful I tried to like it twice lol 🤣🤣 and ended up ask why did I not like this !
Amazing step by step. Thanks a ton man!
Lian Li could really up the game and make the push pull reversable on fan sets in the app, and include stickers for the back like the front, and also some RGB on the rear support bars, that would blow minds.
oh forgot to say i put the LL s 120's on the z73 to match the other two sets i have
@@negativezero3107 when Lian Li supports Corsair fans let me know.
looking for anew cooler find this video and almost choked on the 2020 is looking good for tech... and the womp womp womp sound effect played in my head
Great Video! Love the quality
Wonder why you put it in the front? Aren't the fans blowing the heat from the radiator into the case?
nice video just a question why did you connect aio to cpu opt instead of cpu fan?
Great video, well explained
Probably a stupid question, but what if you're using different fans than what came with the cooler? What do you do with all those extra wires from the pump?
What is the cable at 11:23 that you plug the fans into for? Does it come with the cooler? What does the otherwise of it plug into?
I can't believe you did not do any temperature tests. Did NZXT prohibit you from doing this?
I'm curious what a 2nd or 3rd gen Threadripper temps would be under load with this Z73 Kraken cooler. Can't find information on this anywhere.
Hello, thanks for the video super helpful but I have a question. Can I plug the fans (not using the ones that came with the Aio) into the motherboard directly or do I have to plug them into the splitter that was provided?
Thanks in advance.
