Wow, that radio has nice clear audio Fred. FM is typically really clear so that's a good help. I do believe you have a good winter beater for the shed Fred. Congrats.
Thanks Andy. Its also plenty loud with a good sized speaker which is important for my hearing. Today my shed sprung a leak in the roof so all radios removed till i recover it with new felt. However once fixed iam hoping for some good winter use on FM.
@@Tobinindustrial I was sitting in there today when i noticed a few drips. Seems like its on the seam. Easy enough to recover as its only small and ive got felt. Wont get a chance till next weekend weather permitting.
The President Truman ASC as Premium-Version with MuRata-Filter inside and build by Uniden are very quality little Multinorm-radios with all you need for beating hours on CB. I have two of them, one as my daily CB-station and the other one as my backup, both aligned with a bit more than factory-deviation up to 2 KHz and fully 4 W instead of factory 3 W, thats it. The rigs work brilliantly for local and DX as well. Im happy with them at all. I dont need any amplifiers, I prefer QRP always. 4 W are enough for my region also to have some important distant contacts. Great orange display with a nice S-Meter, good receiver, good sound, loud and clear modulation with the President Egg. 60-80€ are a great deal for the Truman, the little brother of the fantastic Harry III. Little disadvantage is the missing Up/Down-function on the delivered basic President Egg, but you can get such a microfon with U/D and GDCH-standard 6 pol in many CB-shops for around 20-30€ optionally. Its a good invest additionally to the Truman itself. Greetings from Germany, 13 SW 128, Don
Cracking little rig for 60 quid. Crystal clear receive and top audio reports..And that will not get hot ,like the 9900. Got my eye on a President McKinley for mobile use.. Love the front loaded speaker and Din size..
@@robgibbsofficial The receive quality is super clear on the Truman.. Still got a President George , and Jackson Mk 1 from back in the day.. Still working fine..
Hi Fred I’ use a old school cobra 25ltd which does work well it’s now due another service / tune would it be better to purchase this little radio or stay with the cobra ?

Good video Fred. Thinking about getting back onto the cb. Not sure if I wanna slap up another bloody great ariel though! Has techmoved on in the last 25 odd years so that you van have a decent indoor ariel or is it still at the sigma 4s stuck on a 30 foot scaffold pole! Perhaps you could do a video on that?
