Supermarkets here usually have baskets and trolleys. Not all supermarkets have basket carts here, because we usually just carry the baskets on our arm if we're shopping in small amounts, or use trolleys for big items/big amounts

In Japan, too, when shopping for a small amount, you only carry the basket with you when you shop.
      Same as Japan!

Here in the States everything is so much bigger...except our vegetables. I envy the size of your carrots! Our carts are bigger and the volume at which we buy is so much larger. Most Americans with families buy for the week. We carry some Japanese items here but not a large stock...still can mostly find what you need except the Natto. I cant ever find natto or miso paste...gotta get it from amazon. Thanks for this trip! I really enjoyed it very much!

Thank you for watching from America🙏🙏
I'm surprised that the things they sell are bigger than the ones in Japan.
      A week's worth of shopping seems like a lot😂
I can't because I don't have a refrigerator that big in my house!

Yes, everyone outside of America and in this case Japan they go shopping for what is needed daily or get enough for 1-3 days so there is no need or no room to get a weeks worth of food. Also, Japanese aren’t gluttons like America with the portion sizes 🤪

I found microwave rice in a recently opened Don Don Donki 🤭 It's so wonderful to find many things there. I was surprised that they also sell Honolu Ramen! 😋

Is microwave rice not sold at the grocery store?
In Japan, it is sold in every store.
It's just like freshly cooked, so it's delicious!

@@Toknowaboutjapan-cp7dg No, it's not a practice here. Our place has many mamak restaurants which usually opens until late (like 2-3 am) so usually late night eaters will go there for food

I didn't know you could buy miso on Amazon.
Is it expensive compared to the price in Japan?

Hi, could you show a soy milk packet next time you go shopping. I'll be in Japan soon, but I only drink soy. Thank you.
