@les Yes, Somrak and Lerdsila lose against good attacker but that happen when they got old. At their prime all your good attackers just cant find the way to hit them. Deal with the fact bro. On that time no one can beat him in Muay thai. So he decided to trian in amateaur boxing for Asian games and Oympic games and he did it. I remember the time when he won the olympic medal. I was a kid watching tv and I know everyone in the country was watching the same thing on tv. When he won, I heard screaming of joy from all directions in my neighborhood. That moment was epic. The national anthem was sang out loud all around my neighborhood and I believed this happened all over the country. The next morning all the kids were playing boxing at school.

I'm Thai and when I think about Somrak's muay thai technic the first thing I think is how he slowly exhausted the opponent. He defend the punch by keep pushing it down so the oppopent has to rise his arm up everytime and that will build the stress to the arm bit by bit. When he got clinch, he will use his leg to block both knees and jump up to make the oppopent carry all his weight to make him exhausted.

Big provinces with big money got all good boxers so he offered himself to fight for a small province. Despite no training and drinking all night 😂 he won the fight and all the way to the gold medal. Unfortunately after his gold Olympic medal, he lost motivation, lack of training, partied hard😅 He just made it for his 2nd Olympic but lost… He’s alway cocky and funny. As a Thai person i watch interviews and following Many muay thai fighters of Golden era.
Theres a short video of Veeraphol aka "death mask" interview for his top 5 favourite fighters. Out of the 5 fighters was Somrak. Veeraphol said there were two match up with somrak, and he cancelled it both times. He said that fighing somrak will make him "sia muay"(เสียมวย).
"Sia muay" means making you look like amateurs, makes your form broken, frustrating to fight against and gives you headache. After fighting him it doesn't leave them as a fighter on the inside.
There are no subtitle in the video but here it is th-cam.com/video/jhme5dNJiDs/w-d-xo.html

One of the best defensive muaythai. Nobody wanna challenge him, cause they will lose their bet(because of his defensive and counter skill and gym reputation he represent). Unfortunatey, we don't have more video in his prime. ไม่ได้โม้ (No bullshit)that what he said.

Somrak had a chit-chat with Samart about the day when he was a rookie. That's really funny. He said the gambler offered him one million baht to surrender in that match. He returned the money to the gambler and said you bet this on me. You will never lose it.

I could be mistaken, but I believe that his very last fight was an exhibition fight against a Muay Thai fighter in which his opponent fought under regular MT rules but Somrak was restricted to using only punches and elbows...... and he still won.

It was a bet match and Somrak also cant use the legs to block the opponent kicks. If he block the kick he will lose. Anyway Yodwanpadet still scare to kick him much, it look like he afraid of his counter.
