My dream boat! Great video, great boat and great commentary.
Please do more videos on oyster vessels!
Great video . I didn't realise they were British built ... lovely craft.
Thank you! Cheers!
In a world of copy paste sailing yachts, this is a welcome change. Nicely done
to be fair copy paste yachts are a lot cheaper and priced more reasonably . this yacht costs close to three million ,copy paste yachts are around 300k dame size-ish.
Thanks, appreciate your comment
Thanks, she is a lovely boat!
Why is everything UK overpriced???
It is a quality yacht. A Hallberg Rassy, Contest or Swan would be similar in price. That is why I sail a very old Beneteau and wish that I had a Hallberg. 😂
Sailing an Oyster is like driving a Rolls Royce
If you were on "such a special boat" and did not realize it then really how special is it?????? Oyster are good safe boats and as far as production bots go they are certainly top of the heap but they are far from a real custom built high quality yacht.
It was about 24 years ago and it was the first sailing boat (other than a dinghy) that I'd set foot on, so I guess I was a 'learner driver' getting to sit in an E-Type Jaguar, I thought it was lovely but had no idea how it compared to any other boats! It was a really lovely day out on the Solent and it certainly changed the course of my boating ambitions...24 years later we keep our boat on that very marina and regularly get out on the Solent....our boat is not an Oyster, its power, but we do still feel very lucky to be based in this part of the world.
@@themarinechannel Oyster built some power boats too. Again they are good boats and i would argue top or certainly top 3 of all production boats made but in the end they are built to a budget and it is obvious. It becomes most obvious when they are 15 years old or older they really do not age well.
looks like a covered wagon with all that cockpit coverag, totally ruins the look of a boat.
The joys of UK weather....covers are a bit of a must here! I agree that most boats look better without covers though ;-)
@ there are plenty in the states that look like covered wagons. I just don’t get it. You will not die standing out in the rain. When it rains when I’m driving, I’m getting rained on. I know a 70 year old guy who sails with no Bimini and I figured if he can do it then so can I.
You like to make rain don't you
Bored to much talk it's a boat tour
Sorry! turn the volume down, put on classic FM and enjoy the pictures ;-)
