Me growing up playing piano: Teacher: why didn’t you practice this week at home? Me: thinks back to all the time I spent on youtube* Uhhhhh I left my piano at home? Teacher: what? Me: what?
I'm listing the ones I actually tend to do a lot when I practice as a piano beginner : *5. Practicing fast* (this is actually when I already know the piece,i'm practicing my memory to know what to press on the spot, also agility I guess. but I do practice them slower after that) *8. Self critical* (I talk to myself a lot yes😂 Everytime I play the wrong note I would go "oh,wrong note. go back 2-3 measures before") *9. Keep changing pieces* (As an impatient person,I would go play the easy piece or the piece I had practiced after attempting to learn the current one. Also the fact that I am a beginner afterall and maybe it's different once you advance.) *15. Frustrated* (no explanation) *16. The app user* (yeah,I'm still a teen and broke) *18. Recording yourself* (okay,I know I said I listed what I tend to do a lot but,I do only do this sometimes. Since I haven't really memorized a lot of pieces. But this is very useful though! So you can hear what your "audience" is hearing. Like the tempo and such) *19. Depressed* (this used to me back then! I was a pretty sensitive kid so it stressed me out to get a lot of mistakes, especially as an 8 year old) *20. Procastinator* (all. the. time. there's just a lot of interesting things in the world! trying to fit them all in a day is so hard. I only get to practice 1 hour a day most of the time🥲) *21. Mental Practicer* (I can't explain. I do this before practicing) *22. Multi Tasker* (sometimes) *24. Recording Listener* (I think we all relate to this already so I don't have to explain)
You forgot one: Someone who practices when they feel inspired to do so, happens rarely, but when it happens they practice for hours at once like crazy. -> dats me :D
Those people don't deserve to come watch Twoset videos. Ohh, and in one of their meme reaction videos, some guy was like "Who is LingLing?" 😑😑😑 I'm like Bro, were you living under a rock?
I do that on piano too. I start by actually doing my what I’m supposed to be doing but then I’ll suddenly realize that for the hour I’ve just spent playing, only five minutes were spent on legitimate practice.
The "Casual but talented" was literally my friend: we were in Architecture school together and she was finishing a Piano degree at the conservatory on the side. While we were pulling all-nighters to finish our project, suddenly she would jump out of her skin, "Crap, I have a concert tomorrow!!" practice literally half an hour and then "show up a little early" (her words) to the concert to squeeze in a little extra practice. She ended up graduating cum laude from University at the earliest possible date, and got her Piano diploma at the end of the same Summer. Certain people are just too talented...
Me: Casual but not talented Self Critical Keeps changing pieces The thinker Interpreter Frustrated Recording yourself Procastinator Multitasker (sometimes) Practicing in front of the mirror Recording listener I hope you can imagine my practice.
PROCRASTINATOR IS LITERALLY ME. “Dude you forgot to practice today-“ “It’s 10, I’ll do it tomorrow...” “Oh, I have to go to tennis class today...” “I uhm, have arm pain..?”
I sadly am one as well... with me it's more like this: Me: *Early morning* So time to do something useful, practice drawing, fix up my ripped uniform pants, Oh and set my alarm so I don't forget I need to go to work this afternoon *Gets downstairs and sees PC which is turned off* Me: *Sits down behind PC turns it on and puts timer on for work* Hmm let's see *Goes browsing the internet* -8 Hours later- Timer: Work time, it's work time Me: Oh work time already?? But I still need to fix my pants *Didn't do anything useful and didn't touch the pencil at all those hours* Oh well I grab the spare pair for now -After work- Me: Let's do some dishes *does dishes* Hmm I feel like I forgot to do something *Forgot about practicing drawing and fixing the pants* -2 weeks later- Me: *Hadn't touched the pencil for those weeks and finds ripped pants that has been laying right behind me on the table so I wouldn't forget* Oh yeah I was supposed to fix this thing! *Fixes it half way and goes to do other things and forgets about it again until I have fixed it months later* --- I know I'm terrible sometimes xD I used to be way worse then this so there is progress hahaha... I do try not to but my mind is always distracted on Something.. sometimes the most stupidest things... so I easily forget what I was actually supposed to do haha
me, a beginner clarinetist: - plays from the start every time i make a mistake - doesn’t like to practice in slow tempos - bust out laughing every time i squeak a note
Emanuela Ruscheweyh sadly the only way to get a good tone is by playing longggggggg notes at slow tempos till ur lips are swollen and ur cheeks can’t smile no more HAHHAHAHAHA
My practice routine pretty much daily: 1. Procrastinate by watching Twoset Violin while opening my case 2. After 10 minutes I have finally opened the case 😢 3. Try to be ling ling but end up only practicing 5 minutes
I'm the person who's terrified to even pick up the concerto because I'm afraid of sounding worse than the day before. Wat a life we lead.. And then I'll do it and practice for hours and hours and I'll be alright, but yeah, then after is the crippling realization that I sound like a nice steamy pile of excrement :) it's so hard to overcome
Me too. It's so much more comfortable to never practice and not have to face the fact that I am a terrible musician. It feels like I haven't quite relinquished my potential yet, when I put it off. I never have to face my flaws. But even so, flaws won't be solved by such a cowardly approach.
My stages of practicing: 1. Warm Up 2. Fix Posture 3. Scales 4. Find a video of the song so I know how it sounds 5. Play a line of the song at a time 6. Play the whole song and realize I played it too fast 7. Play the song perfectly until that one note at the end of the piece 8. Get frustrated and puts violin away
Here's how my practice goes: 1. Spacing out 2. Too fast 3. Getting frustrated 4. Success(sometimes) 5. Unmotivated 6. Not wanting to do scales or practice techniques 7. Tired 8. Enjoying actually(sometimes) 9. Playing old pieces 10. Trying to remember what my teacher said at last lesson
@@delaneyfinn6324 I was a depressed musician at 6 after realizing that after 2 years of violin my mom still yelled and screamed at me for being terrible-
I'm not a violinist but a pianist, but i can relate 😂. My practice routine usually including these stages : 1. Super slow tempo playing 2. Facing difficulties at some parts 3. Starting to understand how the music should be phrasing, but then i starting to play faster than i should be 4. Doubting myself, even gets depress if i couldn't find the solutions of my problems 5. Procastinating (especially at the weekends)
I feel that. There’s this one piece that I’m learning but every time I try to practice it my brain is like “you should do that fun and easy one as a warm up” then after that it’s like “okay, okay, but... _what if you do it at 280 now even though you normally do it at 140 and this will 100% mess you up in practice tomorrow, as a warm up_ “
But why would I play the way too difficult piece that never goes well, when I can play that hella pretty piece that is so nice to play and I learned it like 5 years ago?
i’m literally always depressed or spacing out while one of my friend is super talented and works super hard and my other friend is don’t practive a lot but super talented
For piano players: when u practice and can't get anything right, so you slam on the keys. (Personally I've never slammed them bc my asian mom would beat me up but my brother has 😶)
@Nadia Charoensuk Yes. The care of acoustic pianos is expensive. I have a Yamaha digital piano. Love acoustics but I don't have the money. And the cheaper acoustics pianos that are affordable are simply a furniture not an instrument.
@Nadia Charoensuk I feel u 😭 pianos r overall expensive (if u want a piano with a good sound to it) so that's y I get scared everytime my brother slams the piano
i play the trumpet; these apply for me too. i call my practice routine “get me some help”. 1. setup 2. depression 3. wondering how trumpet exists 4. get off topic, space out for 30 mins 5. more depression 6. questioning life choices, wondering why i play the trumpet 7. procrastination, just forget about the music 8. put my instrument away 9. wanna actually practice now, so repeat.
I'm like procrastinator but reverse *plays instrument* "I need to clean my room!" *plays instrument* "I need to work out!" *plays instrument* "I need to look for job!" "...oh, it's past midnight... meh, I'll do it all tomorrow."

i think that's called learning harder pieces as you progress with the instrument (we suffer)
well, talented ones need practice as well lol
maybe that’s why
@sakurakeys yep 🥲
@@bigworldsmallperson you suffer but why
I'm listing the ones I actually tend to do a lot when I practice as a piano beginner :
*5. Practicing fast* (this is actually when I already know the piece,i'm practicing my memory to know what to press on the spot, also agility I guess. but I do practice them slower after that)
*8. Self critical* (I talk to myself a lot yes😂 Everytime I play the wrong note I would go "oh,wrong note. go back 2-3 measures before")
*9. Keep changing pieces* (As an impatient person,I would go play the easy piece or the piece I had practiced after attempting to learn the current one. Also the fact that I am a beginner afterall and maybe it's different once you advance.)
*15. Frustrated* (no explanation)
*16. The app user* (yeah,I'm still a teen and broke)
*18. Recording yourself* (okay,I know I said I listed what I tend to do a lot but,I do only do this sometimes. Since I haven't really memorized a lot of pieces. But this is very useful though! So you can hear what your "audience" is hearing. Like the tempo and such)
*19. Depressed* (this used to me back then! I was a pretty sensitive kid so it stressed me out to get a lot of mistakes, especially as an 8 year old)
*20. Procastinator* (all. the. time. there's just a lot of interesting things in the world! trying to fit them all in a day is so hard. I only get to practice 1 hour a day most of the time🥲)
*21. Mental Practicer* (I can't explain. I do this before practicing)
*22. Multi Tasker* (sometimes)
*24. Recording Listener* (I think we all relate to this already so I don't have to explain)

Why did Tchaikovsky write this in D Major?
There must be a *D* eeper meaning
Ahh yes, Tchaikovsky was known for his epic *P U N S*
On Vengerov's own words... Every violin concerto is in d major
Tchaikovsky was inspired by Lalo's Symphonie Espagnole which is in D minor ; maybe he kept the idea of a concerto in D but made it major instead.
No, he just likes the D
Don't forget Schumann's one is in D major as well.

But why would I play the way too difficult piece that never goes well, when I can play that hella pretty piece that is so nice to play and I learned it like 5 years ago?
