I know that first camp spot you stayed at - a little gravel bar after Glasbury. We usually stop for a morning coffee there. Great to see others camping on the bars, leave no trace and what's teh problem? I'll watch the rest later. Need to get over there soon. See many fishermen about or have any grief?
Those were first rapids in my life! I tried to get to the gravel bar on the left but current thought differently and I ended bit further down. To leave no trace I use camping wood burner stove Solo Titan. On a rainy evening I put trangia spirit burner inside the stove and could cook in the tent, carefully. Camping on the bar on two occasions I was too close to the river and worried all night about rising water levels. Was getting up and checking couple times a night. Durin 5-6 days I saw about 25 fishermen. I always apologised and took far side of the bank. Many times stopped to chat to them as I do like fishing, but licences are complicated and expensive, and I don’t have a rod yet.
Excellent video, Kris. Man, you were certainly loaded up there, fair play to you carting that little lot on public transport. 😉
By my calculation over 60kg. The issue is I love my food and could not go without a beer!
@@kristaps2010 🤣 I swap out the beer for 500ml of oak cask malt whiskey when wild camping. Not exactly ultralight, but as needs must 😉
@@DavidWilsonOutandAbout valuable advice! Warms up in a cold day or just before sleep in a tent. Some say it makes you more efficient paddler 😄
