Like the man said: "Let the music take control but don't let the evil doers abuse it and use it take your soul". DOOM was a character that represented and tried to bring awareness not just the stagnant and greed-driven ways of the rap genre, but the entire modern music industry as a whole. Villains that pretend to be your friends then send out stand in's after you travel half-way's across the country just to see them sing, just like a Doom-bot would do to you. DOOM had integrity and a respect for his art and his audience that most just don't see anymore, think of all the money he turned down just to make sure his voice was always HIS voice. In a endless sea of phonies he had a purity and passion that he wouldn't trade for anything and he really did leave when we needed him the most. R.I.P MF DOOM, You taught me that super villains are real and that hero's can be too.
thank you, it helps me a lot goin trough this rough phase of realizing that DOOM is not more with us. My biggest wish was just telling him thx for the times he helped me goin trough hard and depressing Phases. Now this wish has being taken from me, but trough art I try to convey my thanks to him. I hope u and Dilla be making some sick ass jointz up there. RIP DOOM
I go out of my way to find songs I enjoy as well as blend/fit with the video, it takes more time & effort but it’s worth it to me if it means putting out a video i’m proud of, so I really appreciate you noticing and acknowledging those smaller details that others may overlook!
Just a couple of random thoughts: - Count Bass D did have a couple of tracks on his album(s) featuring MF DOOM (Quite Buttery...Though I think MF DOOM may helped in the production of the Dwight Spitz album) - Oh No made a compilation album that had MF DOOM, Phife Dawg, and Erick Sermon to name a few (Ohnomite) RIP MF DOOM, the "rappers' rapper"
I've only been listening to MF DOOM for like two years but venomous villain is definitely my favorite. I was actually surprised to know that it's the least popular Yo same for Born Like This lmao that album gives me chills
I'm always glad when people acknowledge the Monsta Island Czars album. It does suck that Grimm never makes an appearance on it due to being incarcerated, yet he's the leader of the group. But hey, other members in the group deserve some recognition too. Kong and Rodan are MAAAAAAAAAD underrated.
rest in peace doom🙏🙏, if you're still taking requests for the next doom vid i'd like to see you dissect my favorite song of his, one beer, in honor of his passing. great vids man, thanks for the fantastic doom-related content during all this edit: also just saw you mention that's that, which is also one of my favorites. that'd be cool to see a review on as well.
I’m pretty sure I was recommended a bunch of MF DOOM related videos because I was watching a bunch of DOOM related videos but I’m pretty interested now. I’m definitely going to give some of these albums a listen if I can.
Just throw them on while you're at the gym or walking home, driving somewhere, etc. If you're not into rap it may seem really alien at first. Have fun!
Now it’s a certain that we’ll never see a follow up to “Madvillainy” due to DOOMs passing. I mean, it wasn’t going to happen anyway but now it’s 10000% not happening. Which is fine with me. Because like Madlib himself said, it would just be a continuation, just more songs. So people would nitpick it way too much. RIP to the greatest to ever make music. MF DOOM
If your picking apart and analysing a MF DOOM track, I'd recommend That's that, really deep meaning and one of the best examples of his insane rhyme scheme and wordplay
almost no one talks about Born like this since its the perfect DOOM album considering the theme and how DOOM portrays himself. its dark gritty apocalyptic aggressive and everything a true villain is suppose to be. its for sure one of my favorites by him despite it being a quite experimental
YO, everyone needs to check out Grimm. Dudes great, start with the track "Earth" on the hunt for the gingerbread man (2007). Besides that he also is fantastic at writing comics. Talented dude.
@@AnAbsurdExistence I haven't played that in a minute, damn. Love that shit, the intro drums with the Hoe-cakes vibes, and 1,2 1,2 with the fenugreek; thats a solid album. Grimm may not be credited for any vocals, but I thought he had a hand in the production of it. I know that M.I.C and GRIMM hooked up for American hunger later on though.
NehruvianDOOM was Bishop's album. In interviews, he stated DOOM was mentoring him. Even the cover art has DOOM holding the boom box while Bishop is the one holding the mic. Honestly an underappreciated album. But again, its a collab album with DOOM mostly producing. Its the opposite of the JJ and Danger Mouse collabs. Which is fine.
I saw bishop Nehru live supporting for the Wu tang Clan when I was about 16 and MF DOOM live at Leeds fest 2013. This Collab was one of my most eagerly anticipated albums ever! Love the fact MF DOOM will Collab with up and coming acts as well as established artists.
Idc what anyone says about The Mouse and The Mask - I was big into Adult Swim at the time, and wasn't too familiar with DOOM. I ended up checking out that album thanks to Adult Swim, and that's what put me on. It was a big part of my life then - I was starting my second half of college at a new school (had transferred out and taken a semester off cause I hated the first place I went and needed to "find my calling" in a sense) and that CD was like the soundtrack to that part of my life. I discovered Mm Food shortly afterwards and the rest is history. RIP and love always to the man, the myth, the legend, MF DOOM.
Have you ever heard the Yee Haw 12" with Molemen records? it's really overlooked in my opinion. It's two tracks produced by PNS of the molemen. He's the guy that produced Put Your Quarter Up ft. DOOM, Aesop Rock, and Slug from Atmosphere. It features the song Yee Haw which is the proto version of Kon Queso with Dooms old voice style (which i prefer in this case). It also has an even lesser known song "Is He Ill?" which later would end up on a Fat Beats compilation I think.
Remember to leave me your choice of DOOM song you'd like to see me talk about. I'm not sure how many I'll cover in this future video but I'll take into account the ones you guys seem to all want the most.

RIP DOOM
sorry Im a little drunk I copy and pasted the text from ur first DOOM video
Posted 5th November, little did he know doom died 6 days earlier. 😢
little did he know, doom died 4 days before this vid dropped
man you got some bangers on these little transitions, i noticed BioShock on the other DOOM vid and the Portal 2 track GLaDOS sings on here, bangin
I go out of my way to find songs I enjoy as well as blend/fit with the video, it takes more time & effort but it’s worth it to me if it means putting out a video i’m proud of, so I really appreciate you noticing and acknowledging those smaller details that others may overlook!
Yessir good shit bro
stay protected
Just think about how different hip-hop in it's entirety would be if he was only ever Zev Love X...
Bless you for praising Kuffs 🙌
thx for the variety of background music wowww
Thank you for appreciating that extra effort I put in! (:
Great video. RIP DOOM
2020 just HAD to deliver one final fuckin blow before it ended, huh......
You're video is about to blow up.
Just a couple of random thoughts:
- Count Bass D did have a couple of tracks on his album(s) featuring MF DOOM (Quite Buttery...Though I think MF DOOM may helped in the production of the Dwight Spitz album)
- Oh No made a compilation album that had MF DOOM, Phife Dawg, and Erick Sermon to name a few (Ohnomite)
RIP MF DOOM, the "rappers' rapper"
I remember the adult swim danger doom era. We even had Chrome Angels with MF DOOM
R.I.P. King 👑
Whats the song playing in the intro? It sounds like something from Super Mario lol its killing me. Dope video as well!
Super Mario World Game Over theme
I've only been listening to MF DOOM for like two years but venomous villain is definitely my favorite. I was actually surprised to know that it's the least popular
Yo same for Born Like This lmao that album gives me chills
I'm always glad when people acknowledge the Monsta Island Czars album. It does suck that Grimm never makes an appearance on it due to being incarcerated, yet he's the leader of the group. But hey, other members in the group deserve some recognition too. Kong and Rodan are MAAAAAAAAAD underrated.
rest in peace doom🙏🙏, if you're still taking requests for the next doom vid i'd like to see you dissect my favorite song of his, one beer, in honor of his passing. great vids man, thanks for the fantastic doom-related content during all this
edit: also just saw you mention that's that, which is also one of my favorites. that'd be cool to see a review on as well.
born like this is SUPER slept on
This dude really dropped pink guys ramen song when talking about MF Doom 10:19
LOL
I made a project for my music class on MF DOOM and I had no idea he was dead so it hit different
Its so sad knowing this video came out just 5 days after THE LEGEND had passed
BORN LIKE THIS is definitely my favorite DOOM album
its sad that i hear you say i hope he"ll come out with some of these projects cuz we didnt even know
MF DOOM'S most underrated albums
1. BORN LIKE THIS
2. Key to the Kuffs
3. Venomous Villain
4. The Mouse and the Mask
5. Missing Notebook Rhymes
almost no one talks about Born like this since its the perfect DOOM album considering the theme and how DOOM portrays himself. its dark gritty apocalyptic aggressive and everything a true villain is suppose to be. its for sure one of my favorites by him despite it being a quite experimental
YO, everyone needs to check out Grimm. Dudes great, start with the track "Earth" on the hunt for the gingerbread man (2007). Besides that he also is fantastic at writing comics. Talented dude.
you upset he didn't appear on Escape from Monsta Island?
@@AnAbsurdExistence I haven't played that in a minute, damn. Love that shit, the intro drums with the Hoe-cakes vibes, and 1,2 1,2 with the fenugreek; thats a solid album. Grimm may not be credited for any vocals, but I thought he had a hand in the production of it. I know that M.I.C and GRIMM hooked up for American hunger later on though.
Just looked at the date this released. RIP DOOM we didn't even know he was gone at this point but he was :(
i am just now getting into his music and from the 2 songs i've heard, i can already tell i like his music.
what 2 songs?
@@AnAbsurdExistence rap snitche knishes and avalanche
you seem criminally undersubbed lmao, at least interms of quality, very crisp audio and clear thought put into the script of the video
Thanks, I'm still trying to improve too.
"This isn't even my final form"
Talk about fancy clown its my fav song and i love the concept
Bishop Nehru is slick over doom beats
Rest In Power MF DOOM.
You forgot Bookhead EP, and for anyone wondering his latest release now is Super What? it's a Czarface collab album
I love special herbs as a whole, and would love to see your favorites.
forgot the christmas record thing, very important i genuinely love that record
DOOM was the only rapper, maybe even person who had the title of villain, but I seen him as a hero.
Rest in peace villian
Sofa king was the song that made me love DOOM I heard the instrumental and how he rapped over it and I fucking loved it
Haha same love that whole Danger Mouse album
You should definitely do Thats That. Its one of his best rhymes and fast paced songs ever made.
Monkey suite - the one song that feel like it was made in the future and the past simultaneously.
You had no idea he was dead when you made this video damn
