This isn’t the last one, season 4 will be divided in 2 volumes, vol 1 with 5 episodes and vol 2 with 4. All episodes will have double the runtime which means about an hour and a half per episode. Then season 5 will be the last one, which they haven’t even started to film and is set to come out around 2024.

They also stated that season 4 is divided into two volumes, the first part is on May 27 and the second part is on June 1 and they also said that the runtime is 'almost' twice the past seasons. The other commenter said to you is true don't be a hotheaded person.

This trailer is epic. Season 4 looks like it'll be amazing, and well worth the wait we've had. Season 5 will be the final season, after the 2 extended volumes of season 4 this summer. Just a few notes after the 2 volumes release there will be one more season (season 5), the villain is not the mind flair its vecna from DnD and there will be 9 episodes for this season volume 1 being 5 episodes and volume 2 being 4 episodes oh and season 4 is double the runtime of any other stranger things season.

This show is on fire! There is so much story in this season, the episodes are longer, and more crazy things happen this time around. They amped up the intensity, the emotion, and the creepiness.

There are 9 episodes this season volume 1 having 5 and volume 2 having 4. The overall length of the season is TWICE as long as the others though. No episode is under an hour. Along with covid obviously, we see why this took 3 years. They were essentially making 2 seasons in 1.
That's such a good point about the song choice. I never even thought about that. Being a Journey fan, Separate Ways is a favorite of mine and I may have to re-read the lyrics. I also find it interesting with all the stuff happening now in Russia that whole aspect will be even more significant.

This show is a fun time warp to the 1980s. The movie “Super 8” is another. Definitely “Goonies” mixed with “Explorers”, “Gremlins” and “Monster Squad”.
I have hope on this because: 1) Military story comes strong again, 2) Friends separated in their own path, 3) Real villain that probably is invincible.
This season is 9 episodes and there releasing the first half of them with volume 1 and the rest with volume 2. However overall this season is just part 1 of the show finale and final story arc meaning there is a season 5 as well that will happen after this and that is going to be the final season not this one. They already said this in interviews and articles. They also explained each episode is literally at least a hour long and I mean that, each episode is at least a hour in length. But yes the idea about the song giving hints to the show makes sense to as in this final two seasons the characters will not all be together, at least not at first. So in a sense it’s like they have gone there “separate ways”. You can even see this in some of the posters for this season. There’s one where it shows some of the characters walking down a path in a certain place but it’s all leading to the upside down which is in the center of the poster.

I think the creature is a Lich, basically an undead creature/wizard looking to reach immortality. Maybe he's the head honcho, above the mindflayer. Just a guess though.
Yeah, my wild stab is that I suspect it may be the remnants of Billy that the creature absorbed into itself. The way he's strung up like that is very reminiscent of how we saw Billy at the very end of his life.

That's good, for a while I thought Season 4A and 4B would be the final season and that's not a bad thing but now we get a 5th and final season.
