No. They made an air hammer. It help with air in the lines when using a pump. Pressure tanks have an air bladder inside the tank to build more pressure in the system.

Most people here mentioned pressure booster etc etc, but it's not. It's basically to reduce water hammer effect which may break the pipes. It acts like a shock absorber. It can be improved by reducing the aperture of the bottle opening.
