    When buying first take a quick "look see" around the entire area before you start picking up and shopping. You might just pass up the big prize of the day. In my day, the true collectors brisked through the entire area and started grabbing up items as you were looking at them.

      Fenton glass slippers were popular for collectors between 1970-1990, each slipper would bring about $22.00 at an antique booth. Known to collectors today as "grandma stuff". Baby boomers seem to still share an interest in these slippers, but I doubt you can get $22.00 each in today's market.

    Fenton slippers are not hard to find or rare, and popular during the 1970- 1990. Little old ladies would buy them for their cabinet and pay about $22.00 each in an antique booth. I have no idea what they are worth in today's market.

    The glass bowl you called Flanders is actually Silver City Glass with the Flanders Poppy design. Flanders is a type of poppy, not the name of the glass. Silver City Glass would buy plain glass blank dishes from various makers such as Cambridge, Fostoria, Indiana. They would then overlay their pattern using a formulation of silver that would not tarnish. They would then claim the product as their own. It took me awhile to research this. I have a few pieces and one with the silver city tag.

    • @RealNiftyVintage
      @RealNiftyVintage  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      OOh! That makes sense... I had also listed mine with Silver City (when I tried to sell it), but that Flanders name really stood out to me and "stuck" in my head, lol. "Flanders Clear"... What a strange name.. Why not just "Poppies"... www.replacements.com/webquote/scifla.htm

      from what Jeffrey said yesterday, i got the impression that this is not a single-person estate sale but instead that these folks do this periodically. i'm guessing they hit estate sales etc and then combine their inventory into a big sale. thus, what doesn't sale this time around may appear in the next big sale or the sale after that. P.S. yes, in this video at 9:18, Jeffrey said this is a reseller.

    • @RealNiftyVintage
      @RealNiftyVintage  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It can be.. but also after too.. Just the word "Japan" is most likely after WW2 though. "Made in Japan" is common pre 1945 (back to 1891). "Occupied Japan" is AROUND 1945-52 (give a year at the start).. Just "Japan" is often times seen in the 50s and onward. There are exceptions though..
