I ended up modifying my stock cage on my 2 seat rzr and adding additional supports and bracing to give it a low custom look while giving additional strength. Thanks to you guys for this and previous cage building videos for giving me the courage to take on my own project. So glad I built my own instead of paying for someone else’s design. 👍🏻
Great film work to see the angles are even and showcasing the radius. It's looking really good and I love the idea if the removable bar to pull the motor in and out. It's going to look great!

Morning gents, just a thought but it would be cheapish and easy to do a mock-up cage if you get some 2inch or even 1inch Pex water pipe and connections which are reusable. With Pex you can of course flex and hold flex with a small amount of heat from a heat gun, then where ever you want an extreme change of direction. Pex joints come inn industry standards of eg: 15-22.2 45 and 90 degrees, and then you can of course just mock-up one side for a side view or the whole cage. Well, of course, ya can do that next time, also the Pex coming in different sizes can also give you a cheap system to build mock-ups for a bumper, brush guards and rock guards. I`m an old disabled mechanic welder and maybe i can`t go out to the shop but I love that i can sit and drink coffee in my kitchen while watching you awesome dudes, PS sounds cray-cray but once you buy some Pex and connections you will find it kinda fun mocking up different shapes which when labeled will give you precut and fit parts tat can come apart and be reconfigured to anything new. An extra bonus is you could have lightweight models to keep in the storefront and once you take pics of any new designs you can use your computer to paint or change colors. works like a big kid legos kit and thousands of dollars cheaper than welding and cutting steel.
That's what I like about you guys. You are not afraid to take something that is already Bad Ass,....and just cut the Heck out of it! J.P. is gona be sooo wicked when your done. Love the cage so far. Carry on.

Looks like you're off to a good start. I've built many Roll cages in The last 30 years. What I find works best is to Support and level the chassis with a frame jig or at very least Jack stands. With a consistent reference point you could use a digital angle finder to check for symmetry from left to right And front to back.
Great job as usual, just one advice: maybe you should tack weld small piece of pipe at the end of your pipe and then put an angle gauge on it, so you can keep the main pipe leveled with the tube roller, because usually the pipe tends to rotate in the rollers as you are putting more and more bend
Love radius in cages. My RZR had bars everywhere and literally none of them were straight. Even the pillars and intrusion bars in the windshield and roof were radiused. It basically made ALL Polaris add ons a no go. Had to go with a half windshield because a full windshield would snap on the radius A pillar.
That's an awesome shop and I don't know about other people but I'd love to have a place where I could put my toys and shop equipment. Super great shop and tools can't wait to see what this thing ends up being. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😀

@@SXSBlog Completely understand. I was looking at the LS swap kit for my RZR but they don't have a way to make it 4X4. I'd hate to spend that kind of money and not be 4X4. If I drag raced or sand rode like you guys, it would be different but I'm a mud guy. lol
It will be very interesting to see how you guys squeeze that six-cylinder and a shorty Powerglide coupled to a Ford 9in third member into that 117" wheelbase....going to be real tight.

You have likely seen them already, but if not Swag Offroad has upgrades for that HF tubing roller. Check them out.
Shes partially upgraded with their center pin and dies, may do power if we do more cages.

Use a old overhead door opener motor to power your roller they go in both directions be good to drive your roller
If y'all plan on going down the drag strip you might want to look up NHRA roll cage specs.
