Having same problem. What did Cummins recommend? The only way to start is pull start. But, oddly, the remote will turn it off, and so dies pressing grey power button. But cannot start it.
My new Onan P4500i dual -fuel would turn over but wouldn't start, so when I took it to warranty repair shop they said the auto choke was plugged in but the spark plug was bad (in a new unit?). With the new spark plug it is still starting hard in cold weather as if the fuel control is bad? It starts easier with propane fuel.
Could I ask what part you ordered? Same exact issue with mine. Started not working here and there (start button and remote) and now it can only be pull started. Do you have a part number and source?
Working on 1 right now. Won't start with button, but will pull star if i manually work the choke. The start button and choke solenoid bothnplug in to the same module. I have power in, but no power out to the starter. The starter will start yhe gen if jumped across the starter solenoid. Looking for the part name and # gor that module.
more then likely the started battery is dead or a wire is off. cause i notice no light on the power button. also when useing the push bullon to start these you cant just tap the button and you have to hold it down then when you let off is when it turns the starter.
Yeah I have done all that and checked all that and doesn’t work. I will be taking in to the Cummins service center near me to see what it was and Ill update the results.
So After checking what you told me to look for I found that it was connected probably, I disconnected and reconnected just make sure it didn’t have any corrosion on it. Still didn’t work.
@@ElChris619 It's a good design but the auto solenoid operated choke could be unplugged or stuck closed. 3 years ago my first one would not run , stuck choke , Cummins shop couled not get the needed solenoid so they gave me a replacement generator which now has 400 hours on it and runs , performs great. The remote start is a joke , you must leave the ignition switch on to operate it which drains the battery so makes no sense. If you are too lazy to walk over to the gen and start it , then stay home.
Automatic choke wire is unplugged. Open left side check choke wire at bottom left of panel.
Yeah all wires are plugged in correctly, nothing was unplugged.

Check out this dudes vid on it he explains it better
So what was the fix?
I’ll subscribe when there’s an update
I’m actually going to be posting a video once the problem is resolved. Thanks for watching.
What was the fix?
Did you ever find out what the problem was?
Hay mins brand new won’t start it fires no start I haven’t fixed it yet starting on it now but check the oil level probably too high
We had to take ours to the shop and they had to replace the fuel control sensor
The dip stick reads inaccurate it measures so thers too much oil
Did you ever figure out what the issue was?
Make sure the electric choke hasn’t unplugged.
Thanks I’ll give that a try next.
You can move the choke manually to get it started. Then look for the plug to see if it came apart.
@@thehowler7446 I’ll be checking that soon, I hope that’s the problem.

@@ElChris619 did you find the solenoid part number for the choke?
I guess it’s only suspose to have .6 l
Same issue with mine-wtf!
Don’t ever try to start it with a load on Bro…… read your manual……
I did that, 2 time’s. Just a bad design from what I’ve heard.

It was charged.
