Oh my Lord! I needed this video 📹. Thank you. I'm a clincher unfortunately 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️. I had my dentist fit me for a night guard. It's a blessing. Great video 👍.

    Excellent. Many thanks.
My dentist charged me $600 for my nightguard, near 2014, when he performed some cosmetic work.

My dentist has quoted 1000$ 🇨🇦... He's not the specialist though... Hoping he's wrong.

I just bought an acrylic night guard for $1,000. I was waking up with dizziness, neck and shoulder pain on the same side that my jaw is bothering me. After wearing the night guard, I woke up the next day without dizziness, neck and shoulder pain. So far I have had it for 2 days. I’ve been wearing it during the day also. My dr encouraged it actually. I just finished watching a TMJ video that said our problem isn’t just at night so we should wear the guards during the day also. That definitely makes sense. I enjoyed this video.

So, you use your night guard during the day too? Is it ok?

@@ernikasamosir9787 yes. My TMJ dr encouraged me to wear it as much as I can. I work in a back office and don’t have to talk much so it works out for me.

I had the anterior NTI splint but the so called MCI version which covers the upper 6 teeth canine to canine but as a serious clencher I just found that the force of my clenching was transfered from the back to front teeth. I've also had success with botox and would recommend it to anyone. It's expensive but compared to implants and the invasiveness of implant surgery it's worth it.

My dentist charged 1200.00 for a night guard that hurt me. Now she has a new improved model for 1900.00 cash upfront insurance won't pay a penny. Over 3000.00 for night guards cash only is very hard for a poor person like me to afford.

Thanks for the video! Appreciate you sharing your expertise with the general public! May I ask what do you think of night guard sold directly from dental labs (impressions are made by customers, shipped to the dental lab, with a nightguard shipped back to the customer)? There are many dental labs offering such service (encoreguards, JSdental lab, etc). Thanks!

I've been using them for years. SweetGuard and JS are both wonderful.

I just got a mouth guard that cost me $850 that is with a 5% discount. Been dealing with grinding since I was 30 that was almost 30 years ago. I have recession wore down teeth from the T-guard and if I don't wear a guard. I have major pain in jaw, neck, shoulders and major headache and my teeth really hurt. Going to a specialist next week to hopefully help me to stop grinding

I cracked a root canal and right as restrictions for dental appointments lifted i cracked it down the root like my dentist was having difficulty pulling in out as it just kept shattering it was horrible i got a bridge placed then i was recommended for a night guard after as my dentist never said i should get one as just suggested those ones sold in stores which i never found a good fit for me until i got a custom fit night guard from my new dental office after moving away now i can't sleep without mine

I have been clenching more since my decision to remove all my teeth and get snap ins. Maybe just getting dentures would help me stop worrying.

Apparently I have aggressive moments during the night. I would wake up and find mine across the room. They’re irritating. I need Botox.

I ground my canines totally flat. My other front teeth are getting shorter. I had crowns put on 4 of my teeth from cracking them. I have jaw pain and headaches.

I had TMJ like symptoms and all jaw muscles hurt along with forehead and both temples are sore. With muscle relaxers and anti inflammation drug the pain of TMJ subsided almost fully. I kept my teeth apart at night. During time the tightness and soreness behind eyes stopped. Then I got my mouth guard and it is my first night wearing it and I’m bitting down hard on it and and slight TMJ pain is returning and the temples start hurt and feel the muscles get tight in my jaw and my checks feel real hot. The pain is keeping me up at tonight. I just took my mouth guard and my teeth even weirder than before put this guard on.
This is just the first night and don’t know what think! I don’t mind the guard in my mouth. although it feels like it’s pressing top teeth inward all together. I feel like I’m screwed either way! The mouth guard feels like it’s okay to bite down now and the temple muscles hurt all over again! What am I to think?😢 with the mouth guard and biting down on the guard my pain is back again!!!

Is your night guard on the top or bottom teeth? My first one was on my upper teeth and not only did it made my tmj worse my jaw got misaligned from grinding on it so what the doctor said about being able to move your jaw is true or for me anyway.

Also been doing Botox and now i feel like my my smile lines are now so known and i don’t know if that is due to braces that has changed my smile. I’ve had a malaclusion 2 bite and now i feel like I’ve aged after braces 😢😢😢😢

I have tried three different types of night guards.. I stopped wearing mine three yrs ago and all my jaw pain and headaches went away? My old dentist said some ppl use them as chew toys and make things worse. Since moving and seeing a new dentist he says I need one again since my teeth are showing wear and tear. Not sure what to do..

How disheartening to hear professional men exhibit those most annoying speech deformities as most women and teens peppering their explanations with "likes" and upspeak and voice fry etc. I stopped listening. My disgust is visceral.
