The Haines Hunter 565 Offshore is an Australian made half cabin style fibreglass boat with tonnes of versatility. At 5.65 metres in length it is easily handled by one or two people and has plenty of onboard space for the kids.
BoatAdvice journalist Dominic Wiseman headed out on Sydney Harbour to review the 565 on a beautiful autumn day putting it through its paces in somewhat benign conditions. What impressed him most was Haines Hunter’s effort to ensure it developed a boat that is equally capable as a fishing platform and family entertainer. The deep vee entry ensures it cuts through choppy conditions as if it is riding on a cloud while the wide beam at the rear creates class-leading space in the cockpit.
Keen angling families will love the spacious cockpit and versatile layout, while those looking to do more entertaining than fishing will appreciate the fold out bench seat, comfortable helm chairs, spacious cabin and high sides that keep passengers nice and safe.
For those who plan to use the boat offshore regularly the optional bimini and clears package is recommended for additional protection from the sun and sea spray.
The vee berth is big enough for anyone under 185cm to lay down in comfort along the side. It will accommodate two people quite comfortably. Under the bunks, the storage area is big enough to accommodate all your safety gear and entertainment pieces. In fact, storage abounds in the Haines Hunter 565 Offshore with deep side pockets, a massive glove box and drivers side storage.
With a 135hp Mercury four-stroke engine on the back, the Haines Hunter 565 Offshore performed impressively with a quick planing time and overall top speed. The boat can accommodate a larger engine, up to 150hp, but BoatAdvice does not believe it is a crucial requirement with the 135hp engine providing plenty of power.

You wanted to say in the video that it is actually a 150 hp efi four stroke engine, not a 135, I
assume , because Mercury doesn't have 135 four stroke engine...
