The music video for Less Than Jake, all my best friends are metal heads taken from the classic 1998 album, Hello Rockview. check www.brightest-b... for more info.
This is a fair request, and I promise I will not judge any person only as a teenager. You will constantly remind yourself that some of my generation judges people by their race, their belief, or the color of their skin, and that this is no more right than saying all teenagers are drunken dope-addicts or glue-sniffers
What I love about this song is that the poem is so simple. It's honest and it does not have a single exoteric unnecessary line. It's perfect, and the message is very positive. What a great song!
i feel like i'm in elementary school again. then again, i'm a fucking early 2000s kid so i guess this is what i heard when i watched dubbed anime movies and stuff. barenaked ladies, less than jake, reel big fish, all that good shit.
Went to see Less Than Jake at the Hall for Cornwall like 20 years ago. Not often you get bands like that down here, will forever be greatful they took the time to visit.
Wow! I haven’t listened to this song in 20 years. The lyrics are so simple yet so deep. As a kid I thought this song was literary about punks and metal heads (even with the prologue). Such a great analogy for different people in general.
punk, metal, indie and even rave(dance)music it doesnt matter. its the bands that make the music. every genre has good and bad bands its what they do with their music that counts.

I saw this on Kerrang tv 10 years ago, it was the song that got me into punk and I still love and live it!!!! I've come a long way but this is still an absolute classic! ;)
i remember when my dad was backstage and got roger to call me when i was younger. i had never been so excited. i love these guys sooo much, they bring back so many memories and my dad has met them a few times since and they still remember him. such nice guys, amazing live too. x
I started listening in 1998. It seems like every band has an off day where they don't play that great of a show, but I've never experienced that with LTJ. They've brought it in every live performance I've seen. I saw them in Ft. Worth in 2006 and someone bought them a bunch of Jager shots. They didn't blow the set, they just played everything really really fast.
FlammableDonkey I think LTJ is one of the most underrated bands and it's so sad their current situation is so pathetic they got billions of sponsors they are not making songs anymore for me old bands always better but unfortunately they are about to disappear
this was my first LTJ song. this is when i found out how much i really liked ska-punk outside of sublime. im seein them on july 13. im so fuckin stoked
90s and early 00’s (00-05) was the last good era of life. Back when things were affordable and good music/entertainment was valued. Now we don’t care for talent jusy a three second video of someone doing a dumb face then theyre a millionaire
this is such good times i went to their concert at HOB anaheim and they were really nice they let me and a friend get on stage and everything. i hate looking back at the good times!
I just saw em in poughkeepsie last night and roger(the one with the dreads) has to be one of the most down to earth people ever, we hung out after the show for a bit and talked for a while...hes a cool dude
Lol i love punk and hate metal. Metal is just to angry for me , and i suffer from depression so i try to moderate what i listen to as it can affect my mood a bit. Thats why i love ska, makes me happy
+Pigeonlarva magoo (Pigeonnlarva) Try listening to some Stratovarius & Avantasia. Power metal bands like these are more melodic & enjoyable. Or maybe try some pop metal bands such as Dokken & Motley Crue. None of these bands sound "angry."
Pigeonlarva magoo yeah I feel, i love both punk and metal, but nothing like a good ska band to lift your spirits and make you wanna jump around and shit.
hell yeah, dude. nothing better than listening to your ipod and seeing it switch from a Metallica song to a Rancid song and then back to Iron Maiden and then to Bad Religion. two awesome genres of music.
first heard it in street sk8er, then in digimon the movie. Found the street sk8er cs, copyed it to my ipod and i still listen to it. I was 5 first hearing this song and i still love it
What a great song on such a sensitive subject. Pointing out all of the ridiculous things that we hide behind in order to claim that we are better than others. The sooner we tear down our walls and let others in, the better for all of us.
Randomly finding my old high school "jake-more than jake-less than jake" t-shirt brought me here! I miss these days! So many shows so many people just fucking having fun!
@metalwizard13 Digimon is an anime (japanese cartoon) series that had several movie adaptations. The first three movies were released mixed together in the US. Many Ska, Punk songs mad it on the soundtrack of the movie. This song was one of them
lemme say that Less Than Jake was one of the best live performances I have EVER seen!!! Anyone who hasn't seen LTJ live has unfortunately missed out since Warped Tour '11 was their last tour. It makes it so much cooler that I was able to make it before their last tour. Anyone who misses LTJ is missing out on a shit tone of ska-punk greatness. For those pour souls I mourn the loss of one of our greatest ska bands of the age. I may seem like a jackass but my intent is 100% , genkuine
yea! I remember watching their music videos on their website before they changed it. they also use to have all their lyrics up. the new website has nothing.
this is a really great song, i was introduced to less than jake in the early nineties instantly hooked, then this particular song was on some playstation skating game that actually wasn't a THPS game i believe was named street sk8er or something like that, i remember playing that game for countless hours just coz of this song. anybody have that game? xD i think it may have been part 2 of it...
I think I had that game, I discovered this song again last year and for some reason I remembered it from a skating game on PS1, but I knew it wasn't Tony Hawks so it must've been the game your talking about. Don't remember much about it, but I definitely knew this song was from it, it's a great song
I like how this band has my name in it :D So they're less than me, but i don't think thats true, they're way more than me. LTJ is awesome. Ska for life
I genuinely have no idea how people can dislike good ska.
+88Anesthetize
Some people like Justin Bieber.
Right? I love good ska, this sucks bad.
Same
I think its super cheesy
I'm still here in 2019
I'm a MetalHead and i love SKA and Punk...very proud of that too

How Digimon relates this?
What I love about this song is that the poem is so simple. It's honest and it does not have a single exoteric unnecessary line. It's perfect, and the message is very positive. What a great song!
Digimon movie memories...
rolaholic Tbh, I literally love this song and I gotta thank Digimon The Movie for it as well 😀
I didn't even know it was in the Digimon Movie. Hell, I didn't know there was a Digimon movie until just now!
@@MasterOfKnowledge. and there are many other songs from 90s too
@@MasterOfKnowledge. the digimon movie has really good songs
Just by listening to this song on my phone I get the "high school" kinda feeling from this song..
True. This song was pretty much my freshman year.
i feel like i'm in elementary school again. then again, i'm a fucking early 2000s kid so i guess this is what i heard when i watched dubbed anime movies and stuff. barenaked ladies, less than jake, reel big fish, all that good shit.
I discovered them freshman year also!
This song makes me remember my nostalgic elementary, middle and high school memories! \m/

Went to see Less Than Jake at the Hall for Cornwall like 20 years ago. Not often you get bands like that down here, will forever be greatful they took the time to visit.

I still try to live the 80's and 90's. I love the era too much.
Wow! I haven’t listened to this song in 20 years. The lyrics are so simple yet so deep. As a kid I thought this song was literary about punks and metal heads (even with the prologue). Such a great analogy for different people in general.
badass horn section and catchy melodies
