Which did you like better? I liked the VX1. I got rid of my 981 because of the awful stabilization but if you are using a tripod, it's a solid choice as well but it's more expensive.
I could listen to Markus sing the praises of the VX981 for days! It is the first camera/camcorder I've ever purchased, thanks to his keen advise. Thank you for the intel, Sir!
I just purchased an AG UX90 online one hour before this post today. I did based on one of your posts earlier this year that I read last night. Found it just like you said I could for $824 including shipping. It was in excellent condition with 164 hours on it. I was so happy when speaking to the sales rep about it that he commented that its been a long time since he's heard someone so excited about a camcorder, and I was ecstatic! Imagine my surprise tuning in today and seeing you review it again. I screamed out again! Thank you so much for making my days better. I consider you my mentor and watch your videos over and over so much that I feel honored to be attending the Marcuspix Film School (for Dummies like me). Bless you Bro! You are very much appreciated.
Thank you Markus! I'm so happy you made yet another video on the VX981! Since I was introduced to it by you, I have never regretted my purchase and going back to a camcorder. No more fiddling with lenses and so many other settings. And I can vouch for the "Auto AI" mode, it's simply amazing out of the box and I too love "happy colors". Not sure why we ever veered away from camcorders.
I love these camcorder videos you do! some of them I have watched more than once. I haven't even watched this one yet but I instantly clicked on it when I saw it.
I have 2 vx981s and hc v770! They are my go-to day-to-day. I can't brag enough about them enough. The output is amazing the performances amazing they're small and light and the batteries are inexpensive you won't miss a thing if you keep these handy and ready to go.
Camcorders for the win!!! My Sony PJ760VE and my Panasonic HC-X1500 have both served me well for over a decade and mean I don't have to mess around with different lenses, external ND filters, overheating, etc. Now I'm carefully eyeing the new Sony NX800 with envy.
The more I watch this the more I am excited about jumping on the VX981. I almost bought three of the AX43 and before that I was going to go for the Sony A6400, but these look the best and I’ll be able to finally produce and stream my shows in 4K!
Ey! I'm totally newby in vídeo. A few months ago I folowed your advice and bought the vx980 (I think is the same as the 981 en Europe). Even if I had to bought it used, because it's discontinued. And all in all I'm pretty happy with it! I don´t want to spend too much of my time in the computer, and also don´t want to loose too many clips because of bad camera settings, and it's true, this camera is perfect. And love you too, you are a great teacher.
Thank you Marcus. Your happiness over equipment makes me happy with you. Thank you for being so entertaining and informative and educational. I have learned so much about photography, videography and being happy and satisfied with what I have so I can focus on making great photos and videos!
Thank you for the comparison. I have the VX1 and ZS200. I've enjoyed using both for family memories. I've always been tempted to add the LX10, but wasn't sure if it was worth having yet another camera. Appreciate the comparisons between each. 🤙
As always very objective video. I purchased VX1 in July 2024 when it was on sale for less than USD700. I assume that was probably because of launch of VX3. Under controlled lighting the results you get from VX1 are stunning. They may not be Hollywood grade motion picture style but very much acceptable. Recently I did a video shoot of event using Panasonic X1500 and VX1 and believe it or not, I was able to closely match colors from both cameras. Again, the key here is good controlled lighting. With camcorders I do not have to worry about over heating, battery adapters, power supply. With high capacity battery I can continuously cover 4 hour long event without any issue. The only thing(s) I noticed with VX1 though (may be two), are that for whatever reason, when recording in full auto mode on VX1, the video produced is lot more cleaner (noise free) than in manual mode. Now I do not know what that would be, but under same lighting conditions, auto exposure produced lot more cleaner video. Second issue ... actually this is not an issue but a setting ... which is auto horizon correction. That setting can really add some nuance to the recording. It will tilt the frame in attempt to correct the horizon ... so watch out for that setting and turn it off if not required. Its very hard for folks to wrap their head around the fact that even today in year 2024 camcorders are practical instruments to produce quality content. They are very economical solution for videographers on budget like myself.
Glad you covered the Panasonic line of camcorders and cameras. I use mostly Panasonic over everything else, and only if I need to record for hours, I use my X1000 Pani , cool stuff Markus
Always felt like I needed the most expensive camera with all the features but Markus has shown me “no” I just need the right lighting and settings. I can get what I need for under $1000
Another example of "newer ≠ better", always interesting to see and it still startles me every time it happens. Thats just unfortunate. Thanks for showing older cameras more appreciation as always and yes, the video was also entertaining. I like to play with my gear all the same and it's fun to see likeminded folk doing the same
I bought my own VX981 on your recommendation and am very happy with it. What you refer to as "happy colors" might be an increased vibrance setting. I don't tend to adjust the camera at all in the field, preferring to do that in post. What I love about shooting 4K with the VX981 is that putting that footage into a 2K editing timeline, I now can do incredibly smooth keyframed zooms, pans and re-framings for my music videos without losing any apparent resolution. It's like having three cameras on set instead of just one. It was also the best price/performance trade-off IMO. I don't mind that they aren't new: to me, that just means the price will come down and i can soon get a second one to match and get additional angles.
Camcorders bring me so much joy! Easy to use for anything. Just flick the screen out and you're rolling. Some of the older ones have nostalgic video quality too.
Fun and informative! Love camcorders, though I’m a big fan of the ax 53; built like a tank, great stab, though I’m not always pleased with skin colors on people. I do use the viewfinder a lot on the telephoto side..largely a must for me. Still the vx981 looks great!
Just the comparison I've been waiting for, the 981 has better image but the vx1 has better stabilisation, its a tough call, im in the market for either the 990 or vx1f as i think the view finder will be realy useful, for brighter days, got somr serious thinking to do now, thanks Marcus😂😂😂 great video as always, love your channel, id love the ux 90, but thats out of my price range 👌
thanks for this Markus! Do the small Panasonic or Sonys let you simultaneously record internally, and get clean HDMI or USB output so that you could livestream and record with it at the same time? thanks for any advice
Markus, thank you for always bringing us fun and educational videos. I would love to see or know your thoughts on medium format camera both film and the new digital ones like the hasselblad X2D. Maybe you can get your hand on one and shoot some beautiful portrait and share your findings or opinion compare to the usual canon, sony, full frame, micro 4/3 sensor etc. I'll wait for that day to come.
I'm the "smallest most lightweight things possible" guy. Anyone can get great stuff with big expensive things, I like figuring out how to get the same effect with small cheap stuff 😊
Thanks to one of your other videos, I own the VX981 and love it! I might even get another before they’re too hard to find. I’m going to Green Bay on Thanksgiving to see the football game and I’ll be taking my little camcorder!
Great video! I have the vx1 and didn't like the picture. However, I adjusted to make it a little more flat. I definitely enjoy the ergonomics of a camcorder as I can easily put it in my little Timbuk2 bag and take it when I travel around, go into the city or on bike rides with posable wildlife sightings. My mic of choice is the rode ntg with a wind muff. But now I don't know if I have a mic on my camera or a camera on my mic as they are almost the same size 😂
I have both the 981 and VX1 and I have found exactly the same thing. 981 always looks great and the VX1 can look the same with a little tweaking. If I only need one camera for the day it is always the 981. Thanks
Hi Markus. I've seen a few 980's in the UK for sale secondhand.. is it possible it's the same as the 981 but maybe considering different Hz .. 60 for USA and 50 for UK and frame rates divisible. Also I would have liked the 405 included as a bench mark especially for stability and zoom. Still a big fan of my 405 that you recommend.. I will be adding mic jack's soon and getting a wireless mic.. I've watched your mic video's (I've watched loads of your channel) have seen the hollyland duo advertised yesterday at £150. Any chance of a video of latest affordable wireless mics.. including 2 mic types.
@@MarkusPix I've watched your video several times 😻 The airport 405/981 shows the incredible zoom and sound etc.. Put more cameras on the stability test.. a olympic heats building up to which wins. I like the 405 on so many levels.. I'm going to buy another one.. will still look for a 981/980 .. the 770 or 800 are nice but I can buy a new 405 cheaper.. I'm about fit mic jack's to the 405 which makes it perfect.. I've also got a way to fit filters.
THANK YOU MARKUS!!! I have been wondering about the WXF1 (VX1) compared to the 981! Been using my Sony CX-405 for my TH-cam videos, and wanted to upgrade to something with a mic-jack. Do you know if you can do picture in picture (with cell phone) with the VX1 like you can with the 981? After watching you analysis, love the stabe of the VX1, but the colors of the 981 are better.
I bought a 405 because Markus recommended it. It's BRILLIANT.. Can't find a 981 but have seen 980 advertised for more money than I have.. So I am going to add mic jack's, separate for R and L .. useful if only one mic plugged in the other get ambient.. Have you found the second battery compartment? I'll tell you how if you haven't. That's where I will put the jack's.. Have you seen the filter mod using a lens adapter.. I've also come to the conclusion that I will buy another 405 for my second camera, affordability and in editing there is continuity of picture... I have a nylon loop cord from a sports whistle connected to the handle that I put round my neck or arm which lessons the chance of dropping it.. and it's not bulky.. but if it's hanging down Bella 🐈 likes to play with it.
Instead of the picture-in-picture I wish Panasonic would record the second camera as a separate file and let you switch perspectives from one camera to the other. No post editing required. That would be awesome.
I own both and a FVX1. Ideal for street interviews, reporting and documentary shots where a big bulky camera would be too intrusive. It looks like a tourist camcorder, but films in the quality of a professional camera.
@@MarkusPix I hoped they would add even less battery eating processor. I readed the manyal USB C is version 2.0 so it is also not for data transfer. But I like that atleast someone makes those as new. Those cameras still has their place.
Great video. Tech to Remember made a video comparing the WFX1 to the VX981 and it seemed the colors were better on the WFX1 but perhaps it was because the colors were the default and weren't tweaked. It seems the VX1/WFX1 are better for vlogging situations because of the wider lens and better stabilization.
I would say its the other way around. If the WXF1 color looked better, it was tweaked and not default. People want you to believe new stuff is always better so you'll click on their links and buy it. But yes, wider lens and better stab.
Thanks! I had the 981 and got rid of it because the stabilization sucked. Glad to see that VX1 has superior stabilization, I like the look of the video better and it's cheaper. Definitely going to pick one up.
I love my camcorder. It's a 5K basic video cam. Actually, it was some of your past videos that convinced me to get a get a camcorder. Mine was $125 on sale on Amazon. It has a ton of features including that weird night vision stuff. I haven't used that at all. I'm using mine mainly for indoor videos for TH-cam. I'm pretty happy overall with the camera. I also appreciate the size. Cheers!
Just the video I needed. Mr. Markus making magic right when you need him to! Please do a commentary for your movie!!! I would pay $100 to watch it in Vegas with you giving a Q and A. Symposium?
Hi Markus. I am a 63 year old guy starting to do bike touring. I have purchased an action camera, but I was thinking of using a 4K camcorder on my tours. Could you recommend a cheap but really good camcorder please? I was thinking the VX1 could be the ideal one.
Hi Marcus im looking for an oddly specific camcorder, something with nightshot IR I see their not made anymore I was wondering if you had ever used the Sony AX53 and if so how does it compare to the Panasonic VX981? Im a Camera Conspiracies type of guy and seek to use it for Ghost hunting and UFO spotting haha as well as filming past life regression sessions, not much is available anymore I was even considering looking into the old 1 inch sensor camcorders, would love any wisdom you may be able to offer.
Yes I tried the AX33, AX43 and AX53 and love the VX981 much more. Those sonys are heavy as bricks, the gimbals are useless th-cam.com/video/JZ-ERztAd2M/w-d-xo.html they have smaller sensors th-cam.com/video/roL9kFYz6a4/w-d-xo.html and they dont have manual control. As for IR nightvision, the VX981 has IR (not the VX1) and I believe the Canon G70 and XA70 do also
I enjoy watching your reviews :) could you please make a review of which budget video camera is good enough for low light situation? like recording a performance on stage (dark setting)? Thank you.
I wonder what your thoughts on the ZS100 would have been like? I read reviews when the ZS200 first came out they usually mentioned how the camera was not as sharp as the 100. The reach is greater on the 200 (I think 15X vs 10X) so the lens design is likely a big reason for the softer look, and maybe the grainy look you are seeing. I have the 100, but later got the Sony RX100vii and prefer it much better, mostly due to the focus accuracy and a little better IQ. But the Panasonic still has some features I wish the Sony had.
Fantastic production. My Sony RX100M7 is my only decent camera but i like the camcorder form factor and extended zoom .So following your tips i will seek out a second hand video camera , soon , for my next project. PAL version .
If I already have the Sony AX53, do you think it's worth replacing with either of these Panasonic models? I'd love a comparison video between the Sony AX43/53 & either Panasonic if you ever have time! Especially since the two pairs are always compared.
@MarkusPix oh wow!!! Yeah, that's definitely telling! I also have the RX100M7 which I love, and I like that I can swap the SD card between it and the AX53 since they record in the same format. I also have the international version of the AX53 called the AXP55 which also has 64GB internal storage and a projector, was able to convert it to NTSC. But definitely considering picking up the VX981 if the quality is significantly better than the AX53 since I still love camcorders.
Doesn't look like it's much different than the VX1. They say it's supposed to have better low light capabilities, but with a tiny 1/2.5" sensor, I would guess its just software enhancement.
Markus, have you tried the Panasonic LUMIX S5 II mirrorless camera with 20-60mm? They have a special where they are giving away a 50mm lens for those who purchase the camera. The cost of the body, 20-60mm, and 50mm is 1999.99 (2k). If you have, what are your thoughts on it.
I don't do full frame Panasonic, too big and heavy for my taste. I like their older smaller stuff. Cheap 50mm lenses are often included because they cost nothing.
I still have a few camcorders. The aftermarket USB power cables are useful. I can run my Canon and Panasonic Indefinitely (Or at least as long as I need to) from a small GAN wall charger or power bank with the cameras battery removed and it keeps everything compact and lightweight.
Love you videos, thank you. Just wondering have you ever produced a video on using a camcorder as a webcam or is the just silly? I like to have a zoomed up image, about a foot away, with a back ground blur, I have tried a mirrorless camera which works ish, I am not a camera geek, I have no got a neo cam from elgato, i like the back ground blur but doing with with software is rubbish. thanks again
Hey Markus! Thanks for making such wonderful videos, finally someone that’s on the same page about “happy colours”. Since I’ve seen so many of your comparisons, I have the ultimate question for you LOL VX981 or Rx100 vii for video especially with zoom? (If stabilization, auto focus and low light quality are what’s being most critically judged. Excluding vx981’s night vision as well). I’m typically moving around quickly filming fast moving pets, friends at night and family in high contrast uncontrollable scenarios with lots of vibrant colour. Unfortunately moments are so quick I don’t have the time to pull out a light. Thanks!!
I wish. Its actually just a low rez camera to film yourself as you're interviewing someone, like the cameraman's reaction shots or stupid stuff like that
You always do such a nice job narrating and covering cameras and camcorders. Your audio sounds so plush. I really like the VX981 but currently don't own any camcorders just action cams and would love to find a budget friendly "small" camcorder with good optical zoom. I don't need tons of zoom distance just something that will hold focus while filming my little RC cars. I just want to bring them in closer while they pass by and not be in the cars way as they hurt when they hit you. lol My action cameras work great but they just don't have more than 2x zoom at 4k. The digital zoom might go higher in HD but then what's the point. I can always zoom in post from 4k to 1080. I have no idea how well the footage would come out as I pan left to right with a camcorder in comparison to an action cam. The action cameras are very stable when you move them around fast. Perhaps I need a drone and baseball cap turned backwards. ha ha You have so many post to read through you will probably not have time to read this but other subs might have ideas. Could be an iPhone would work best for me. I have no idea.
The CX405 is onoy 1080 but it's only a couple hundred bucks, has a monster zoom, good stabilization and everybody who has one loves it th-cam.com/video/JZ-ERztAd2M/w-d-xo.html zoom th-cam.com/video/KmZH3rGjjlQ/w-d-xo.html
@@MarkusPix Thanks for the recommendation. I will definitely check it out. 1080 looks the same as 4k for what I doing. Having an actual camcorder would be fun to operate and experiment with.
Hi Markus, I had a very clean LX10 and was stupid enough to sell it for cheap. Now I can not find it on that prise any more. I was wondering if the TZ100 has the same colors and if it can make blurry background similar to LX10. You have TZ100? Do you find the camera to perform on paar with LX10? Are the colors and the sharpness the same? Thank you.
Request! I'd love to see a head-to-head RX100 vii vs. VX981. I want to do some travel vlogging in places where discretion is safer. I have an Osmo Action4 for wides but need something with a zoom that will cut together reasonably well. I'm not going for cinema, just location information on a TH-cam channel. These two both look like candidates for the job.
The RX100vii has vastly superior video quality and features but isn't meant for recording video over 15-20 minutes . The VX981 is bigger, doesn't fit in a pocket but is easier and more fun to use and can run for hours.
you got me.. ended up grabbing a wx970m .. same sensor size as vx981, buncha streaming features that no longer work 😂 and the gimmick cam on the side BUT it was only 400 on ebay. Love it
I would say the Pocket 3 has many advantages over the VX1 like stabilization, tracking, better colors, smaller, lighter, etc but it obviously can't zoom and you're stuck with a wide angle lens, t's not great in low light and you really can't see what you're getting with that tiny screen.
So I have a question.. I just hate using my cell phone to take pics lol. I would not mind a hybrid pocket camera that takes better photos then a cell phone and also would do decent video as well if I wanted.. Is the LX 10 decent for still photos as well as it was doing video?
I have a 12 year old Sony compact camera that takes beautiful photos, even with a small 1/2.3" sensor and an f/3.2 - f/5.8 maximum aperture. You've just got to know how to use the camera :)
I would love to see a comparison of these cameras handheld getting random footage at their telephoto end of the zoom. From videos ive seen the ZS80 and ZS200 are unusable handheld. They seem to have a lot of micro jitter
@@MarkusPix thanks for the reply! I wonder if the 3 MOS sensors makes a difference, the clarity of the video seems quite impressive: th-cam.com/video/AVCOKbYKQm8/w-d-xo.html, like this one
Hi, great video as usual thank you, unfortunately the wonderful models you’re talking about are only available in very limited pre owned used condition… any newer models that are readily available please!🙏🏻
unironically the comparison I needed, VX981 vs VX1.
I've been wanting the same comparison! :-)
Which did you like better? I liked the VX1. I got rid of my 981 because of the awful stabilization but if you are using a tripod, it's a solid choice as well but it's more expensive.
@@michaelbell75 yeah, the VX981 seems better in most aspects, but the stabilization of VX1 alone is probably worth it.

Thanks
fantastic thank you! keep pushing the limits!!
I've been using the Sony HDR cx405 since you told us about the little secrets last year. Super camera. tHanks for these videos
Heres a video where its compared to the CX405 incl stabilization

I've watched your video several times 😻
The airport 405/981 shows the incredible zoom and sound etc..
MAN, I have GOT to have that blue-purple shirt!! Killer Paisley Style!! I absolutely want one!
Dear Markus, I'm shocked how great the LX10 Video-footage looks. Very impressive. Is the Panasonic DMC-LX15EG-K Lumix identical in optics?
Yes same thing, euro version
Thank you for this comparison. Stay awesome!
I like the VX981 better than all of them.
@MarkusPix Which camera did you use to film yourself talking on the white background at the start of the video and the end of the video.
The same thing I always use for almost all my videos- RX100vii pocket camera
@@MarkusPix Thank,s I'm looking for 4k 60fps video in a small form factor. I have the iphone 12 and it's not great video quality, any suggestions?
@@malcolm341 iPhone is great for videos, try cleaning the lens before recording
Thanks Markus! You’re awesome!
I own both and a FVX1. Ideal for street interviews, reporting and documentary shots where a big bulky camera would be too intrusive. It looks like a tourist camcorder, but films in the quality of a professional camera.
Waiting your Panasonic HC-VX3 REVIEW !
Its a VX1 with software to try and enhance low light but no better than VX1 and definitely not better than VX981
@@MarkusPix I hoped they would add even less battery eating processor. I readed the manyal USB C is version 2.0 so it is also not for data transfer. But I like that atleast someone makes those as new. Those cameras still has their place.
I see Markus, I like ! Amazing work sir !
Cheers!
ITs your energy that makes these videos!
I want to use a camcorder but I just can't stand the lower dynamic range T_T
Just the video I needed. Mr. Markus making magic right when you need him to! Please do a commentary for your movie!!! I would pay $100 to watch it in Vegas with you giving a Q and A. Symposium?
I wrote a book on the making of it which describes a lot more behind the scenes stuff than I could say in real time dreamchaserbook.com
@@MarkusPix Already got! Would love to have it signed. I can't believe you filmed next door to Pauly Shore Bio-Dome!!! LOL
Also, I don't think many people know you have directed Sir Jamey Lannister!
Great review. Will you also review the new Panasonic HC-VX3E-K? And how do you think these guys compare to the canon g70 line?
Thank again 😃
I actually like the look of the VX1. Thanks for sharing.
Same with women. How many times did we make a choice because of how something looked... only to regret it later 😆
Hi Markus. I am a 63 year old guy starting to do bike touring. I have purchased an action camera, but I was thinking of using a 4K camcorder on my tours. Could you recommend a cheap but really good camcorder please? I was thinking the VX1 could be the ideal one.
As you can see by this video, the VX1 is not my favorite. Stabilization is good but not colors. A 4K action cam is probably best for what you're doing
@@MarkusPix thank you very much for your advice, I appreciate it very much.
Camcorders is still used ❤❤
Is the HC-VX980 the european version of the HC-VX981?
Yes
As for IR nightvision, the VX981 has IR (not the VX1) and I believe the Canon G70 and XA70 do also
@@MarkusPix Thanks mate love your work ❤
I enjoy watching your reviews :) could you please make a review of which budget video camera is good enough for low light situation? like recording a performance on stage (dark setting)?

The Panasonic VX981 looks like the best bang for the buck however, which used (affordable) camera is out there that comes close to the 981?
A used 981.
@@MarkusPix😂
If I already have the Sony AX53, do you think it's worth replacing with either of these Panasonic models? I'd love a comparison video between the Sony AX43/53 & either Panasonic if you ever have time! Especially since the two pairs are always compared.
I gave away my 33, 43 and 53 and got two more VX981s if that says anything
@MarkusPix oh wow!!! Yeah, that's definitely telling! I also have the RX100M7 which I love, and I like that I can swap the SD card between it and the AX53 since they record in the same format. I also have the international version of the AX53 called the AXP55 which also has 64GB internal storage and a projector, was able to convert it to NTSC. But definitely considering picking up the VX981 if the quality is significantly better than the AX53 since I still love camcorders.
❤ your videos! Very informative 👍 I’d love to know how you would setup a TH-cam/podcast recording setup for 2 - 3 people one day :)
Can you give me your opinion on best microphone for the VX981?
Thanks for sharing your knowledge ✌
Are you planning to test the new VX3?
The VX3 is just a VX1 (which I hate) with software that tries to enhance low light (badly)
@MarkusPix Okay, that's a sad device then... Thank you!
Can test the new VX3 2024 vs VX981 vs VX1?
Doesn't look like it's much different than the VX1. They say it's supposed to have better low light capabilities, but with a tiny 1/2.5" sensor, I would guess its just software enhancement.
Seriously camcorder comparison! Gonna make a cup of coffee for this.
how does the mic compares between the VX981 and the VX1?
Markus, have you tried the Panasonic LUMIX S5 II mirrorless camera with 20-60mm? They have a special where they are giving away a 50mm lens for those who purchase the camera. The cost of the body, 20-60mm, and 50mm is 1999.99 (2k). If you have, what are your thoughts on it.
I don't do full frame Panasonic, too big and heavy for my taste. I like their older smaller stuff. Cheap 50mm lenses are often included because they cost nothing.
How about the new Panasonic HC-VX3 vs the 'VX981...?
Smaller sensor than the 981, basically a VX1 with software to enhance low light which isnt that great.
I have a very smal workshop and would like to do videos. Can u show some great wide angle lenses for the cam corders?
Thanks!!
RX100vii is much higher quality and has rock solid AF for people, plus its so small you can literally stick it in your pcoket
What's the extra mini camera for on the WXF1? Creating 3D stereoscopic video? Or creating some kind of depth maps?
I wish. Its actually just a low rez camera to film yourself as you're interviewing someone, like the cameraman's reaction shots or stupid stuff like that
That LX10 pocket camera is really something.
I'd like to see it go head to head with the Sony RX100 MK VII
th-cam.com/video/mURiF_KPmEs/w-d-xo.html
And th-cam.com/video/HfSasIr8DBQ/w-d-xo.html
OK what do you think of OM SYSTEM Tough TG-7 or similar cameras like Pentax WG-8? Build in GPS and durable.
darn I really wanted to see the LX10 handheld outside footage. Sad it got missed.
The CX405 is onoy 1080 but it's only a couple hundred bucks, has a monster zoom, good stabilization and everybody who has one loves it
th-cam.com/video/JZ-ERztAd2M/w-d-xo.html
zoom th-cam.com/video/KmZH3rGjjlQ/w-d-xo.html
@@MarkusPix Thanks for the recommendation. I will definitely check it out. 1080 looks the same as 4k for what I doing. Having an actual camcorder would be fun to operate and experiment with.
Thank you
Hi Markus, I had a very clean LX10 and was stupid enough to sell it for cheap. Now I can not find it on that prise any more. I was wondering if the TZ100 has the same colors and if it can make blurry background similar to LX10. You have TZ100? Do you find the camera to perform on paar with LX10? Are the colors and the sharpness the same? Thank you.
The 100 has a long zoom that only goes to f2.8 so you won't get the blurry bg like the LX10 with f1.4. Also the 100 does not have a flip up screen.
Hey Marcus, will you review new Godox Ad600pro2 and ad200pro2? Thanks
you got me.. ended up grabbing a wx970m .. same sensor size as vx981, buncha streaming features that no longer work 😂 and the gimmick cam on the side BUT it was only 400 on ebay. Love it
Why the tiny cameras are more power hungry than the old camcorders?
I wonder if i use the VX1 more than my osmo pocket 3 or not don't know the Panasonic is easer to point and shoot.
I would say the Pocket 3 has many advantages over the VX1 like stabilization, tracking, better colors, smaller, lighter, etc but it obviously can't zoom and you're stuck with a wide angle lens, t's not great in low light and you really can't see what you're getting with that tiny screen.
👏ty for making this beautiful video
So I have a question.. I just hate using my cell phone to take pics lol. I would not mind a hybrid pocket camera that takes better photos then a cell phone and also would do decent video as well if I wanted.. Is the LX 10 decent for still photos as well as it was doing video?
yes of course
I have a 12 year old Sony compact camera that takes beautiful photos, even with a small 1/2.3" sensor and an f/3.2 - f/5.8 maximum aperture. You've just got to know how to use the camera :)
I would love to see a comparison of these cameras handheld getting random footage at their telephoto end of the zoom. From videos ive seen the ZS80 and ZS200 are unusable handheld. They seem to have a lot of micro jitter
The VX1 has the best stabilization of these ones. The tiny Sony CX405 has great stabilization also th-cam.com/video/KmZH3rGjjlQ/w-d-xo.html
@@MarkusPix thanks man
LX10 looked amazing
What do you think of 981 vs x900 or x920? The lens on the 900 are 1.5 instead of 1.8
The vx981 has a much better 4k sensor and better bokeh and light sensitivity
@@MarkusPix thanks for the reply! I wonder if the 3 MOS sensors makes a difference, the clarity of the video seems quite impressive: th-cam.com/video/AVCOKbYKQm8/w-d-xo.html, like this one

they haven't made anything similar since
fun fact about the lx10: its actually a fisheye thats cropped in at widest angle, you get to see a much wider angle in a raw processor
Interesting. Can the LX10 record videos in raw with the wider angle? This would be great for vlogging.
@@DenverTI there is no raw for video, the widest it can go is 30mm in hd or fhd and 36mm in 4k
