- Sensational Stunt Rider Arto Nyquist from Finland was an Amazing stunt rider in the 80's.He performs some highly skilled stunts on his Z1300 Kawasaki including wheelies and jumping off the back at high speeds with is 'Clogs' on his feet.

Seeing this man do this way way back inspired me to get a Z1300, wish I still had it, what an amazing bloke, and an amazing bike.
I had a 1979 Z1300. I miss that bike more than any other. Stunning in deep black, with a nasal exhaust note like no other....what a machine...
Absolute legend. At least for us in Nordic countries starting riding bikes in the 80s.
I had a Yamaha V-max and loved doing burn-outs and wheelies (which is not the easiest thing to learn on a V-Max) but I never dared to try the trick standing behind the bike with clogs (correct english? I mean the wooden shoes).
I also remember from a Swedish motorcycle magazine when Arto did a review of the V-Max vs Z1300. The test consisted of different rounds like "wheelie", "riding backwards", "stability without driver" and so on... I think the Z1300 won, but then I think he was not 100% objective since he was sponsered by Kawasaki. But not a "serious" test anyways.
Another stunt he did was riding a motocross bike down a ski jumping hill.
The last stunt was the best one I've seen anyone do.
First thing I did buying my z1300 was to take the end can's off but buying one at £1400 pounds in 86-87 was bit different than now ,, joy's of youth ☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️ from northern Ireland

Why would he be interesting? Just because he can wheelie a bike and do various stunts? Your horizons must be very close!
@@Jer0867 think you’re not thinking widely enough everybody in their own way are interesting and don’t forget he did have a motor racing history outside of stunt riding racing motocross as well as owning a bike store and being an old fella myself with a racing background and having a love of old school bikes I’m sure he’d share much the same interests as most motorcyclists would.

Can remember him doing all his tricks with his ankle in plaster!! Think he did a 12 second pass sitting backwards on the bike!! Legend

Remember seeing him at Donnington at a GP and he was on Z1300 FFS absolutely amazing man.

This bike is what got me into biking. back in summer of 1980 a friend took me on a long ride & next I found myself on a gpz1100

if i remember correctly, in a magazine article years ago Arto said, its easy. First you play pinball till you can get replays easy, then you play with your arms crossed, till you get replays, then you play backwards, until the replays, then you play pinball backwards with your arms crossed over until you get replays... then you get on the Z1300 =B^)-K

My best mate could wheelie the Z1300 two up with me as pillion hanging on to the plastic seat strap for dear life whilst pitching myself forwards. Awesome bikes but they'd go through a rear tyre in about a month.
Without a doubt he is very skilled and has been training for hours and hours, what he does is not easy at all, you have to see the size and weight of the Z1300, it is like riding a war tank!
I remember seeing this when I was a kid on Just Amazing, I think was on ITV.
He actually wheelied it while sitting backwards, but didn't like doing it.

Awesome stunts, but I'm fixated on the fact that they had a camera small enough to be mounted on his handlebars way back then.

Greg page did the rear light smash trick on a Z1300 for motorcycle mechanics mag before it became PB. If I remember correctly.

I believe I saw this guy at 24 hours le Mans for motor bikes about 1983 ? He was doing stunts like these and much more but with woman passenger on the bike too. I never saw anything like it before or since.
a good friend was in the Royal Signals display team, BR used to ride his Jota along the A1 at Catterick, facing backward and waving to car drivers

I had a mate that could wheelie a Yamaha XS1100 which was pretty spectacular, he use to smash rear lights too.

Sometimes he did a special trick spinning the rearwheel and wrote "7 up" on the asphalt of course.

I wish I had a motorcycle mechanic follow me around with spare parts when I rode and then swapped in those news parts as soon as I stopped riding.
His skill is amazing.....since he doesn't need fancy modified bike with 3 brake levers and huge rear sprocket to do wheelie and drifting
