    Disgusting! The USA team has messed up the baton pass in the last 5 Olympics... a task that even high schoolers can do to perfection. As cool as that idea sounds, it would be far worse. The NCAA champions in 2024 (Univ of Houston) ran 38.3 which would have been a distant last in the Olympic final even behind the DQd American team (not that such a time would have gone further than semi-finals). As far as HS teams, the ALL-TIME NATIONAL RECORD is over 39 seconds. So, as bad as the current situation is, what you suggest would be worse as then we wouldn't even have the possibility of winning.

    I said once before, the USA needs a relay school or camp. I know for a fact that these guys are not practicing. They should also stop using former USA track standouts as coaches because it's obvious those guys don't know what they are doing. They should get a high school coach to coach the men's team. High schoolers rarely have baton issues. I can't think of any other country that has given away so many gifts (gold medals) to the other countries than the USA.

    Bednarek left too early and when he realized it, he slowed down suddenly causing Coleman to run into the back of him missing the baton handoff. Same story, different Olympics. The real problem is they don't train for the relay. They think they can simply plug in their best runners and win, and it's more complicated than that.

    • @Kent-77
      @Kent-77 28 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Bednarek had a very odd method of looking behind him. Most runners look over their left shoulder when in their take off stance. Bednarek was sort of looking between his own legs with his head pretty much upside down. I think that method messed up his site/angle of the first leg runners and he thought the lane 6 runner was Coleman. From various replay angles Kenny's running head start was the exact same time the lane 6 runner got to the piece of tape Bednarek put down as his marker. Since lane 6 was on a stagger, that caused him to be way too early on his takeoff.

But no matter who are chosen, they always suffered a covid like pandemics of blurred visions at every 100m interval, they can't see each other at that point.😂 The US may be fast but they don't know how to work together, have no idea how to blend speed and skills in exchanging the cursed baton. May be they need divine intervention and have a priest spray some holy waters over the cursed baton before the race.😂😂😂 Just a thought. Since when is winning have anything to do with deserving? Its about the most prepared and even then you can be dusted by a team that is not as prepared because they have more talent. The 3 teams that placed earned it plain and simple. Deserving is why there is participation trophies. Saying "deserving" takes away the work this athletes have spent years working at.
    As for the US, i dont understand why the US doesnt have a national relay team that trains multiple times a year. After the last olympics i looked up relay team practices and multiple countries jave clinics multiple times a year just for the world championships and olympics. The US does a clinic after the olympic trials and before world championships. I think USATF needs to do a big look into how they coach both men and women's relays before the 2028 olympics.
