He's got some great technique! I'd love to watch his growth as he matures and his dynamic range/tone expands. At age 13 this is crazy impressive. Only blue skies ahead for Baptiste!!!
@@qekruxt5089 yes. He does. Personally, I feel anyone can sound great on an R13 range clarinet or higher; Robert Marcellus and many others did, back when those clarinets were 2000. Now, clarinets are getting more expensive indeed, so your point is valid. Especially if one cannot get their clarinets constantly worked on like some of my colleagues. I must say though, the clarinet on its own is unlikely to be the sole factor to his rising abilities. He's got all the equipment he needs, sure, but it's clear he's also got some great teachers and a buttload of practice. Of course, he has room to grow as do most players. But that was damn clean, I've got to tip my hat to him. Last I checked, the clarinet doesn't do the fingering and voicing. The player does.
@@qekruxt5089 or... we can just work hard ourselves and get where we need to get. I'm not saying you're wrong, I certainly shared your sentiment for a long time, but over time I found it was better to focus on myself and appreciate others regardless of how they got there.
@@thelookingcat not everyone can sound good on an R13. i knew this girl who had an R13 and she didn't sound really good on it. it depends on the player when you have an R13 or better
This kid already is playing at symphony level! Age, 13? Stanley Drucker was 16 when he became 1st chair NY Phil. When I was his age, I took from Stanley's wife and in Stanley's studio was a display box with probably 100 boxes of Vandorens! Always looking for that elusive reed! But I also studied with Stanley's teacher and I can say with authority, this boy, depending on his reading level, plays better than the majority of symphony players which is completely sick, lol! God bless him!
