Good review. I almost bought one. A couple concerns. 2 ply track durability & manual start. I understand why they went manual & it’s not a huge deal but a question…..can an electric start be added?
Taller spindle???? Gee, I wonder where that came from?.......Cough, cough( Arctic cat) 🙂 I remember everyone giving AC crap or questioning their reasoning for the taller spindles back in 2012 when they released the Procross, or earlier on the race sleds. But with that said, even though I'm an AC guy, I was checking out the New Doo's and Poos the other day and I would have to say, AC is easily a notch below those 2 when looking @ fit n' finish/ and overall quality of materials. Just sitting on the sleds, comfort wise, the Doo and Poo are better, but "Fun Factor", the way the sled feels when sitting on it, I would give that to the CAT :-) I Love the competition between these manufacturers, makes them better for us! If I had to buy new right now, it would be the 9R XCR or 9RAssault 🙂
Yet cat is running the same rear suspension setup they were back then. The new Catalyst are cool sleds but they having the worst suspension in the industry offsets their new chassis and that rowdy 858.
@@gregsouther7293 ok, not sure on that response?? I would agree AC needs to upgrade their rear suspension, but without actually riding all 3 back to back, I have no opinion on that. The only comparison I have is my 16 AC ZR8000 137 Limited vs my buddy's 2018 Ski doo renegade 137 with the R motion. I thoght my ZR handled better in the corners and almost felt the same in the rear. My 800 felt just as powerful as his 850, so we have that!!
smart shocks can be cool for trail riders but please the comp edition needs to be an aggressive sled... an snow x or XC sled for consumers. add a 600 with shot and 850 NA with shot... keep the good 46mm clicker shocks no gizmos or gadjets needed... also a 1.5 or 1.75 option track... if i order a 600 for 26 i'll be swapping in a 600RS track and maybe spindles too.
Because this isn’t actually a comp sled and the smart shocks bely that truth. Almost no one can use this sled to its potential, and those who could, probably can’t afford it. This is the high margin sled for the rich middle aged dude who just wants “the best”. This is what happens when the product lineup commoditizes what was supposed to be the comp sleds - XCR’s and XRS’s into normal trail sleds, and now there needs to be another level above that. The actual XC sleds do exist and they are 600s, but only like ten people want that.
Cool sled lots of money for stuff most people will never use. Not saying it’s a bad sled just the opposite to good of a sled for 99% of trail riders out there lol!! Most people will prefer the regular trail package so don’t wast ur money.
Absolutely love this format guys. Please keep the deep dives coming. ❤
Appreciate that!
@@snowtrax you guys need a French counterpart.🙂 I would love to share the content with my friends, but most of them don’t understand.
SnowTrax, you guys rock! I would take content like that for hours on. Keep it up.
Will the ras rx front end kit fit on my '24 BC XRS to make it the wider front end?
I’d take XRS Competition, but with the 600 mill instead. Just wish it was available with SHOT.
when you going to do some content on some entry level/affordable sleds??
Just posted something on the Arctic Cat Norseman 400 last week. Have a look.
If you think 10k is affordable.
"Affordable" is all relative.
Lol. I agree. I guess everybody has more money than I do.
Nice looking sled

I love my smart shox on my mach Z ...
You lost me when the smart shock guy came out 😂 it’s painful
Important note - the RAS RX kit will fit on any narrowbody two stroke that has RAS X - not just 23 and 24 models!
Can we put de RAS RX on the G4 4 Stroke?

Ski doo is fun. But its like riding a sea doo off groomed
Will be the most unreliable sled on the planet, Turbos suck.
Can't be the polaris 850 turbo is already
@bigmurph1447 haha that too.
