Omg everything about your new apartment is amazing!!! It's so fancy and high-tech and pretty!! Buildings in Korea always look so nice! There are a lot of old and janky places here, like our old apartment where the door outside didn't even shut all the way...

ikr?!! i've always wanted to be able to control the ac for just my room cuz it's the hottest in the house during the day, and i live and california, and i get overheated easily, and my mom doesn't like the ac going on all day when the other rooms don't really need it, but i thought it wasn't possible! and now i find that it is, but america is too behind to have it...?! T_T

I just started working at my grandmas pizza restaurant and my first time delivering was horrendous!!! U think people don't let you in when they are pooping?? Well you are wrong my friend!! Haha I knocked on the door and they said "come back later" and I was like "but I have a delivery for this address" and she's like "oh come in I thought you were my neighbor" I walk in and the stench almost burns my eyebrows off then I see it.... The lady was sitting on a portable potty behind the door.... She was pooping while writing me a check!!!! I have now seen everything -_- haha

Glad you are spending less on the apartment. And that is means less commute time for you. Amazed that the day you move in, you're unpacked. Cool system. Personally, I have plastic tubs to move my stuff in. No boxes that fall apart. It seems like much less space for your apartment. But you each get your own bathroom, which is a luxury. It looks all nice and modern.

Thanks! Interestingly, it's actually smaller than our last one but the layout makes it seem so much wider and spacier! We learned that about apartment shopping. The real estate agent tells us "this next apartment is even bigger than your last" and when you walk inside it looks teeny tiny! Goes to show you the measurements in the apartment don't matter as much as how it's laid out!

This their fourth place that they filmed. Two in bucheon and two in seoul. They may have had more places. The first place their filmed was a place provided by the school. The last three were on their own. I find all the housing pretty neat. Solid surface flooring, efficient kitchens, tidy closets.

Our contract with this place is until December 2015, so...probably not. The landlord will probably try to up the rent.

Hind Hani Buying ANY land in Korea is very, very expensive. Hardly anyone, even the natives, actually own their living space because of the price. Or own any other land. It's a pretty tough situation, but it's basically the only choice.

Martina, I used to love straws too! I think because I liked secretly blowing bubbles on drinks as a kid (a bit dumb, I know) and somehow they reminded me of those simpler times. But a couple of years back I saw this video of a sea turtle with a straw stuck on its nose, some people were trying to help it get it out but it was so deep, poor thing was actually making sounds in pain, I didn't even know turtles could make sounds! In the end, they were able to remove the straw, but now when I see such item I can't help but to remember the pained face of that turtle. So I'm traumatized and now I don't use them anymore.
This makes me curious about something, which country is more strict on recycling Japan or Korea? Also it would be interesting and fun if you please show us recycling in Japan and if there is any differences on the process.

I love you guys so much! I lived in Mokpo with my twin for three months. It was one of the best times of my life! Korea and its people are truly amazing and wonderful. I want to go back sometime before I'm 👵 to old... You guys are living my dream! Street food is the best! You should do a video on that some time!

that's really stupid, because a house is supposed to be a clean heaven to rest etc etfc. a place where you live.
And in most Asian countries and almost all arab countries and many east european contries including russia DON'T WEAR SHOES IN THE HOUSE because shoes are DIRTY. What if you have a baby crawling in the house? there were you walk with shoes? and you walked with shoes on SHIT and so outdoors?
Walking in a house without SHOES is a NORMAL thing and not *kroean style* or something. btww I LOVE Korea :3

That's just your opinion. And babys put anything in their mouths, thats why you're supposed clean everything. And not only will they get stuff from the floor but other stuff that they can reach and put it in their mouth with out having it stepped by dirty shoes. This is just my opinion & of course everybody knows other countries don't wear shoes inside their homes. They just said korean style, because they're in KOREA.
In the west, we have things called "vacuum cleaners".
vacuum cleaners? do you think that is relevant to my comment? not only in japan and korea but also in those countries i talked about they clean their floors at least once a week even if you don't walk with shoes there. And oh, i wouldn't want my children to eat shit that came from peoples shoes while they were walking down the road.

Martina -- If you don't know what to do with all your make up you should get a train case. I got one and it makes life so much easier when you have a lot of make up

Eat Your Kimchi Its a metal case where you have multilevels that pull out so you can see all your make up and then close it back up and neatly put away. I think a lot of make up artists use it when they have jobs. I have about... 30 lipsticks, 4 blushes, a couple press powder containers, etc. and I can see it all at once when I open my make up train case. Its great! I'll send a photo to your website's e-mail acct so you can see what I mean. Maybe they call it something else in Canada or Korea

What's the procedure for foreigners to rent a cool apartment like yours? I know it's hard to rent apartments in Japan. Is this the case in Korea, especially in Seoul?

they have videos on it, for apartments in Korea you have to put in a big deposit, for their first really small officetel the key money was 10.000 dollars

Ninami I think "key money" is the equivalent to a deposit, usually, at least where I'm from in the US, the deposit is 2 months rent and any extras they want to charge you for, like pets, utilities, etc. and if you leave your apartment in good condition, you get it back when you move out. But hot damn, deposits cost too damn much in SK lol, but then again they do live in the big city, that's to be expected.
The apartment is looking great! I must say I like it more than the old one, but I like smaller spaces. The view is pretty good, Meemers has a prime sleeping spot.

The digital thermostat reminded me of a trip to Montreal. We checked into our hotel room and my friend thought it was too cold inside. So I tried to adjust the thermostat when I noticed it was in celsius. D'oh! So we were just standing there staring at the thermostat, scratching our heads. Then we just left it alone and left for downtown.
All the advanced technology in Korea makes me want to live there so bad. X.X @ America... why so slow in advance technology? =.=
