An also, BC can spread to the GI track, less frequent, but it can.

Do it really make any sense to get a port device if you're only scheduled for 4 months of chemo.
When I found your channel, I just fell in love with you this is my question for tonight.
    I have so many questions.

Dr. Tasha, I have a surgery question. My bilateral mastectomy left me with 2 "dog ears." The one on the left (cancer) side is more prominent and rubs against my arm. Very annoying. Why do surgeons leave those "dog ears"? Why can't an extra nip and tuck be done to fix it? Isn't bad enough we've gone through such a defacing procedure? Why not make it look better instead of giving it a "cute" name?

Sorry to hear that. 'Dog ears' describe excess tissue that is left once the mastectomy is performed. You can have a discussion with your surgeon to see whether they can be excised. Depending on the amount of tissue, sometimes it can be a bit challenging to do. It is always worth a discussion though.

Hi I have having reduction of the left ‘healthy ‘ breast 8 months after oncoplasty and a lumpectomy of my right breast for invasive breast cancer, in 2 weeks time. I was a 32 FF cup and my reshaped previously cancerous breast after radiotherapy is probably 32 B so they are very different. My concern is why aren’t you offered an ultrasound on the healthy breast before reduction surgery? I believe that all removed breast tissue is sent for biopsy after surgery for checking what then happens if you’ve had a reduction and they find cancer in the reduced breast? Would you have to go back? Surely it’s more cost effective to look first? I asked this question to my oncologist and he said that he had had patients who had this happen to them? Have you any experience of this and is it worth asking to be checked prior to surgery please. I am very grateful to my surgeon, she has done an amazing job and this is what convinced me to accept her offer of reduction surgery to balance me up, but I do feel slightly more apprehensive as this is elective surgery and I am looking for reassurance that I’m not going to have to go back and have more surgery if they find cancer. Thank you so much your channel has helped me navigate a difficult time in my life.

Hi Dr Tasha hope your having a lovely holiday. Have you ever heard of breast cancer returning to the knee area? I’ve got a sore knee near the knee cap though it could be age related I’m 64 and I do remember banging it off the stairs about 6 weeks ago when I fell up the stairs. I’ve tried to read up on bone metastasis but can’t find anything about the knee area thanks x

Hi Irene. Breast recurrence can occur in any bone really. Any pains and aches can of course be related to trauma but if it persists and you are worried about it then do get it checked out.

Dr.Tasha I had a fibroadenoma...4cm size. I decided to have a surgery on it. According to my surgeon it so depth like a cave. After the surgery for two days I've cried because it's so painful. Is it OK that I decided to removed my lump?

It is not unusual to have fibroadenomas removed, especially if they are large. The discomfort should hopefully improve 🙏🏽
