"The Secret History" is one of the best psychological thrillers I've ever read- I'm about 60% thru. I really loved the audiobook of "The Goldfinch" and her first groundbreaking novel (TSH) is not disappointing. She is an extremely talented writer. You'll especially love it if you have any proclivity or affinity for classical/Roman/Latin/Greek culture.
Empire of Pain was SUCH a good book! It took me some time to get into it but i couldn’t put it down once I did! One of my fave books that I’ve read this year
I basically grew up in my local library as well! We didn’t have a computer at home so I would spend all my time reading and would use the computer at the library. Now I actually work there and it’s amazing!
I used to stay there for hours and play computer games too. Such fond memories. I’m also someone with sensory issues, so the quiet environment suited me so well! I love that you work at a library now! I honestly though about getting my degree in Library Science for awhile. So jealous of you that you get to be there all day! 😊

The Secret History is one of my all time favorite books. I honestly think about it often. I read it almost 2 years ago and still think of it. I am sure you’ll love it. I recommend reading it in the autumn months!
Also: a great narrative "philosophy sampler", so to speak- especially western philosophy- is "Sophie's World." It's a novel, but really a journey through philosophical history- I have heard. I have not read it tho.

Sue Monk Kidd is probably my favorite author. I read the secret life of bees in high school, that was the first book I read by her. Then I read The Mermaid Chair, which is my favorite book by her 😍 and I really liked the book of longings too. Also, I read the kiss quotient just recently, it was just OK in my opinion.
I am on the rom-com hype at the moment but I am having to listen to books as I've recently had spinal surgery so I am currently very immobile and smacking myself in the face with books is just a no (it happens more frequently than you think) I listened to the kiss quotient last week and absolutely loved it! It's quite spicy 🌶 which I was surprised but I do think it's worth a read!

I’ve read the Goldfinch by Donna Tartt and it’s one of my favs of all time!! I also have the secret history on my TBR shelf and so keen!
