What makes this scene more powerful is when Lucifer started to support Charlie, it’s because he realized she’s a dreamer like him and he realizes even though his dreams weren’t supported, he can support his daughters and the acts when he smiles with tears in his eyes. I’m not crying you’re crying
I honestly didn't know what to expect after the pilot on TH-cam. I had absolutely no idea they would be writing these beautiful songs with these beautiful moments. It's like a beautiful roller coaster ride that I don't want to end

He feels like her and her love are the only good things left in his life, and he pushes her away out of a combination of fearing that knowing the REAL him, the way he sees himself, as a broken loser who has ruined everything good he ever had, might destroy that. Or that, worse, he might do something to screw that up himself like he screwed up every other good thing he's ever touched.
