1. When I saw the episode title of "Trojan's Horse", I thought that was a weird way to say it, as most people simply say "Trojan Horse". However, after this most recent episode and the unveiling of Salt's Neck, I wonder if Trojan's Horse could be related in any way. 2. Now that Mark S is re-integrated, I wonder if Helena will actually try to kiss HIM and he'll be the one awkwardly avoiding it this time, tipping her off to the fact that something may be different about him. 3. I freaking love this show. That's all.
Thank you. Bro clearly didn't watch the show very closely. "We've never seen and innie and outtie feud before in the series" is INSANE. where were you last season????
I agree that she will be a recurring character, but it’s funny you make that claim in an episode featuring Gwendoline Christie who will almost assuredly not be a recurring character. The show had Keanu Reeves do a voiceover.
I believe Irving's outtie is a detective or cop investigating Lumin, which explains why he has so much evidence and intrigue about his job compared to everyone else.
With Dylan, it's SO sad that he is disconnected from the knowledge of "finding his feet" in a job, esp if he is a screw up. Lazy is often an easy judgement or cover for deeper issues, i believe true laziness is actually quite rare, and if outie Dylan was not severed, he might be fulfilled and more engaged and motivated in life due to finally having found a job he thrives doing. It's interesting to be able to clearly see the negative impact of built up life experience that Dylan carries, and also the pure potential of innie, undamaged Dylan in comparison. The innies seem to be the purest expression of each character's nature and personality traits.
The whole slug/parasite idea, coming from pouches and acting as mind-controlling alien parasites, is a reference to "The Puppet Masters" movie, a Star Trek TNG episode entitled "Conspiracy", and "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" movie. Remember Ben Stiller is a huge Star Trek fan and owns memorabilia from the TV shows.
I think Harmony is Charlotte and vice versa. She is the clone of Charlotte. Even her name, Harmony, signifies the merging of the two separate entities.
I think mark is going to know about Helly’s identity, as the CEO’s daughter I’d assume she’s a public figure and he’ll get suspicious of her now that he’s reintegrated and has context
Milchick saw that the data refining production dropped. The team has fractured(Mark is looking for Ms. Casey, Helena is following him and working on a bogus file(Santa Mira), innie Dylan is falling for his wife and Irv is looking for the black hallway. Milchick decides to have a 'team building' exercise and bring the team outside on a field trip. We see the refiners outside in black coats & hats and we saw Milchick & Ms. Huang in white coats & hats. Milchick has a walkie-talkie and says "now". He must turn the group back to outies on the trip or another protocol.
@@jamesbuckley8917 My response was not complete brother i tried to write the whole comment and it couldnt post. So i think they purposely don't let Cobel manage the severed floor because she is strict and follows the protocol by letter....they give the innies the idea that they are free to roam and achieve their goals but that's kind of a trap dont forget Helena is among them and when Cobel mentioned to her that there is much damage to fix she said "we have something else in our mind"..... The only parameter that can affect things is Reghabi but we will see ;)
both Dylans share the same body so even if the outtie doenst remember working his body was at work, so is natural to be tired after 8 office hours watching numbers on a screen
We’ll have the beginning of Mark S. All those new innie memories Mark Scout has access to now. and Petey will return to the show that way. We’ll see how Petey was behaving pre and post reintegration.
Still I am wondering how will Mark work as...will the Mark S have access to outer Mark memories or will Mark go inside and have Mark S memories. Kinda will there be struggle over dominance or they will work together, like each part is aware of the other part.
Yes!! I thought outie Dylan was so lazy and maybe not really involved with the family time. Innie Dylan seemed so crazy excited to meeting Gretchen and seeing pics of the kids and even said he would work hard to make them proud. I totally thought Gretchen could end up falling for the other version ❤
Idk if it’ll be a conflict but maybe a path to recreation? The stress of being a bread winner taking hold on Dylan, feeling no gratitude, also as Burt said he felt fatigued after he got home, Dylan becoming depressed now knowing that stress with little reward for his actions, causing depression in Dylan much like the outie, a cycle repeating itself as outside stress makes it way inside, showing the importance of maintain boundaries on work and life. Used as marketing for severance, also the show runners have confirmed the tube was her mom’s.
Decent takes but because Dylan doesn’t remember working, doesn’t mean he didn’t work…you would still feel fatigued after a long day. Severance doesn’t negate that
I don’t see a huge difference between Dillan’s two sides. Innie Dillan has less distractions and lower expectations. He has one thing to focus on. I think the chemistry we see between him and his wife is that of a new couple. Dillan probably reminds her of the man she fell in love with, unburdened by their history it’s just like a fresh relationship.
The actor who plays Dylan boasted about being a very good baby. Interviews show Ben Stiller and the cast making fun of him for that comment. Innie Dylan is a good baby(the severed are child-like). Thus it makes sense that he is a good refiner.
@ that makes sense. When you look at it, Dylan is really just meeting the base requirements expected of him. I wouldn’t call him a go-getter. He does what is needed and no more.
I think the export hall is where they go when the product is ready . The product is the repurposed bodies. They could be using them for various things like surrogacy ( as birthing a big theme ). I was surprised when Dylan asked if his outtie was a fuck up, since Innie Dylan thinks he’s now famous on the outside. I was waiting for him to bring that up. Gretchen was probably worried he would lose his job if she didn’t help Seth and maybe feels guilt for lying to innie Dylan. I think Burt and Irving were lovers on the outside but broke up because Irving went off the rails from the effects of severance. The phone call Irving made , I think was to Burt , and the message was simply that Burt no longer wanted him. He felt rejected on the outside and on the inside. I was surprised that Mark was so quick to sever , particularly without consulting Devon. But it definitely pushed the story forward and I can’t wait to see what happens . I think cold harbour is needed for the ‘revolving’ of Jame Eagen. I think Cobels mum died during child birth and may also be an Eagen love child. I thinks it’s her agenda to bring her mother back to life or maybe integrate her memories somehow. Loving season 2!!!
I really don’t think Harmony/Ms. Cobel has ever had any malice towards Mark. I don’t think she’s his mom but I do think a couple people in these comments could be right about Harmony being severed with a different physical boundary, and her fixation on Lumon & the breathing tube could be her wanting to bring her mom back. I think there may be a third layer to their severed memories too based on evidence with the Exports Elevator but that’s a different theory. This one is honestly a pure gut feeling that Harmony(Ms. Cobel) has been trying to get Gemma back for Mark. I think she may have known everything about everyone before it happened. Here is my case: Harmony(is what I’ll call her for ease) has worked at Lumon as long as she can remember. She was probably already running the severed floor when Gemma had her accident. I think Harmony also knew Mark & Gemma before the accident and after it happened, she recognized Gemma inside Lumon, and planted the seed somehow with Outie Mark to work in the Lumon severed floor BECAUSE SHE KNEW SHE WAS GONNA ASSIGN HIM TO COLD HARBOR THATS WHY MARK WITH NO EXPERIENCE LANDED HIMSELF A HIGHLY COVETED POSITION(mdr) . I also think that she knew about the reintegration with Petey, and that maybe possibly there might be a small chance that she could facilitate Mark resurrecting his own wife from the dead, and that if the reintegration worked (that’s why she went to such lengths to get Petey’s chip to the board so they could confirm for her if it worked) I think Harmony’s been waking a very fine line of making sure Mark stays in mdr long enough to finish Gemma’s file, putting her outside self back together maybe? Whatever the file is, he’s gotta finish it before she’s ready. And even then, Marks reintegration has to go well and Gemma will also have to go through a successful reintegration to remember who Mark is. Veeeeeery long story short, I think Harmony is being set up as antagonist but may be our undercover protagonist. She screams when Mark confronts her in the street because she wants so so so badly to tell him but she can’t yet and if she tells outtie Mark anything, then they risk losing everything. Or I could be totally wrong. I’d be interesting hear your thoughts!
Not to mention, if outtie Mark’s knowledge is now available to innie Mark, won’t he have some knowledge that the woman he previously identified as Helly is actually an Eagen, (no matter which version of Helly/Helena is actually there now), with her being likely a known and identifiable figure to the community? I could see a side plot developing where reintegrated Mark confides in Irv/Dylan at work that the red headed lady is a Lumon mole.
@@jamesbuckley8917 He could just tell them he's not sure but at least, reveal her history/identify (innie and outie). I don't think Dylan is gonna be wanting to help out in any way and is gonna be conflicted, though.
I can''t wait for John Noble to appear in this series(Denethor in LOTR, Walter Bishop in 'Fringe'). He plays the character 'Fields' in Severance/Season 2.
Technically, he has already appeared (S1 finale) - he was with 'outtie' Burt in his house - when Irving arrived at the house and saw them in the window.
I don't think harmony was scared of being "reset". If lumen wanted her to be reset that bodygaurd could have dragged her into the building. It was an empty parking lot at night. I interpreted harmony walking away as her realizing she has the power. Helena wants her to come with her, but harmony is done with following lumens commands. If they want her back they'll have to go to her. Harmony starts the scene with a power play; she makes helly walk to her and then tells her the condition of her return. Helly responds with her own power play; saying harmony isnt as important as she thinks and then gets her return approved by the board in front of her. Helly "wins" because they walk towards the building but harmony plays her last card, leaving
@@darlingdear2687 Agreed. I don't agree with his take. She appeared scared and thinking, 'wait a minute....I'm outta here.' She realized that it was too risky and decided to take off. Helena didn't sound sincere anyway - and the driver was a tall, sketchy looking dude who looked like he was a body guard (or even hired assassin type) and she wanted no part of him. :)
Helena Eagan is the heiress to Lumon and probably one of THE highest profile citizens in the State of "PE." We already know she gets media coverage from time to time. An reintegrated Mark Scout will immediately know Helly Riggs's outie is Helena Eagan. He'll have seen her on TV and in the papers.
I can guess that the Inni Dylan feels fresh to his outies wife, like a innocent Dylan that is interested in her and the kids, one that works really hard and promises to keep on going. So I guess at the end the innies will take over the outies lifes. As for Marks wife I think she is in coma, so she interreacts from a coma state, but maybe some brain damage allows her to only go out for few hours. Still I wouldnt be surprised if they simply took her brain after the accident, put it in a jar only to force its severed part to do free labor work not knowing its own state. The same might go for that asian girl, she might be victim of an traffic accident is either in coma or similar case, brain taken and forced to work.
You and I are on the same page with these theories👏🏼 We also confirmed in this episode that the board is not a group of living people because Natalie referred to them as “it”
I think Cobel is so interested in mark and Gemma recognizing each other while still being severed because she wants to bring back her mom like lumon brought back Gemma and wants to see if it’s possible if her mom is brought back for her to be able to have a relationship with her like Mark and Gemma that’s why she wants to see cold harbor finished. To see if it works so she can implement it to her Dead mother
I think that Charlotte Kobel (Harmony’s mom) is one of the people on the testing floor. Harmony Kobel has been trying to bring Charlotte back and not just bring her back but hope she remembers her daughter (Harmony) which is why she was trying to bring Mrs Casey and Mark S together so often.
My question is how will this effect the cold harbor project that Mark works on that is so important to Lumen that they seem almost willing to do anything to get him to complete it and now he’s re-integrated? What if part of the reason hes successful is that his innie is pretty much a clean slate, and now that’s been ruined
I am still not 100% convinced that Helly is now Helena on the severed floor. I think the clues are a misdirection. I don't trust the writers/creators. A major bombshell is coming!
I believe it is the year 2035. This is supported by 'The Kier Chronicle' newspaper and by Jame's age. The town of Kier is an isolated 'island', where the nearest town is a small place called Salt's Neck(name is linked to the breathing tube) 238 miles away. The town of Kier is a completely controlled community ecosphere, where Lumon supplies everything(food, water, housing, cars, technology, hospitals, schools, etc.). This is why there are old cars, TVs, computers, and phone booths and still have some advanced tech, like modern smart phones. It also makes is easy for them to recruit and experiment on the population. They control everything innie and outie.
In 6:55 there is a gizmo in the center top of the screen, like a mic or something that production miss... or is something in universe that mean to be caught by us?? I did not notice it until now. ANYONE?!
There's a lot of talk of redemption arcs, particularly amongst Helena, Cobelvig, and Milchick. However, they can't all turn on Lumon otherwise it would be a boring show. There's certainly some false arcs in play at the moment.
Kobel has the power to affect Mark and prevent Cold Harbor from being finished. The power to destroy a thing is absolute and the MDR refinement must flow!
I wonder if Dylan's spouse had a hand in pushing him to get a job at lumon. I also wonder if he is disabled rather than lazy. if his spouse dismissed valid issues like disability and refused to support him or understand his perspective it could bring up another thread around race and oppression in the show. Dylan falling for a version of his partner that's sweet and loving and says I love you could be complicated if she ignores the harm of being severed and loves a version of him that forgets abuse or any harm in our reality it would be like pushing your partner to get plastic surgery to fit an ideal then cheating and breaking up with them and saying loudly that you prefer a natural body and refusing to accept accountability for pressuring people into getting plastic surgery
Give him time, guy is in shock. He was grieving over his wife for few years, only to learn that that she is alive and Lumen is doing some experiment on her.
I think he is still afraid to hope that Gemma is really alive, so he wants to see her with his innie's eyes before he even begins to believe she is alive. Once he confirms that he will ask the other questions.
i think the severance floor is just a virtual reality and not a real place. they went into a hibernate state in the elevator and then wake up and the end of the simulation.
I think so too. I think it’s a futuristic psycho therapy. The guise to the consumer is the promise of repairing a broken person. The ulterior motive being that this personality/tempers R&D benefits creating “better” biotech engineered Eagens. I think the refining is how the company captures emotional markers for this research, and why fencing the numbers elicits such a spectrum of emotional responses within the refiners. Perhaps the severed “jobs” at Lumon are actually f/t paid biomedical research in an altered reality state? But to your original point…..when Milchek referenced “maintenance” that night that the doors etc were changed outside the MDR offices, my brain kept thinking the way it was referenced sounded eerily similar to software updates. And to tie it all together, what if it’s all part of the same simulation. If you have ever seen ‘The Game’ with Michael Douglas, what if all sides are pushing the characters towards the same path of events. What if Regahbi isn’t a rebel, but a part of it all? What if Dylan signed up for severance because he was promised to become a more engaged and loving family man (and career motivated) by being a part of this research. And what are some traits innie Dylan has exhibited thus far on his arc?? Hyper focus at work with high achievements, AND extreme love and caring and wanting to know more about his loved ones.
What if Lumen is trying to hijack a person's body and insert another person's conciseness to become that body's innie or outie ? That is - Cold Harbor is about isolating Gemma's conciseness, so that this part can become an outie and act as a host , and the innie will be inserted from a totally different person ?
I think reintegration should not be so traumatic. Effectively when one side is active, the other is asleep. So, really there is no loss of synchrony, as his memories of time will just be like changing a channel. There would not be two memories competing for the same time periods. The only thing the brain would need to reconcile is the thoughts and feelings of each other. That should not be so bad, either, as it would simply be like being aware of, and remembering your dreams every night.
The goats are a red herring. They are raised for their milk so the upper management can have Kier's favorite breakfast...3 raw eggs in a glass of milk.

8 Sweet Vitriol (a redemptive gush of fury - Cobel or Mark getting vindication?)
9 The After Hours (innies acting to solve Gemma or expose Lumon?)
10 Cold Harbor (freeing Gemma, but she's not the same as Gemma was previously?)
That's all.
We have seen an innie and outtie feud, Helly.
An argument could be made it would be an emotional affair for an outties spouse to fall for their innie.
Thanks, came to say this lol
Thank you. Bro clearly didn't watch the show very closely. "We've never seen and innie and outtie feud before in the series" is INSANE. where were you last season????
If they cast a well known actress (Merritt Wever -Nurse Jakie, walking dead) as Dylans' wife ,for sure she will be a recurring character of importance
That would be such a good twist!
😮
“We’ve never seen an innie and an outie feud on the show before”… bro missed Helly’s storyline in season 1???

Jame Eagan looks like he was in his eighties!!!
Maybe that's happening on purpose !!!
@@ResistanceB.7 Well, they want Mark to finish the Cold Harbor file and he's not working on it.
Can't wait
Thanks for another banger of a video!
Glad you enjoyed the video!
Decent takes but because Dylan doesn’t remember working, doesn’t mean he didn’t work…you would still feel fatigued after a long day. Severance doesn’t negate that
Yeah that's fair!
I could see a side plot developing where reintegrated Mark confides in Irv/Dylan at work that the red headed lady is a Lumon mole.
probably happens in episode 5 - 'Trojan's Horse'
@@jamesbuckley8917 He could just tell them he's not sure but at least, reveal her history/identify (innie and outie). I don't think Dylan is gonna be wanting to help out in any way and is gonna be conflicted, though.
I can''t wait for John Noble to appear in this series(Denethor in LOTR, Walter Bishop in 'Fringe'). He plays the character 'Fields' in Severance/Season 2.
Technically, he has already appeared (S1 finale) - he was with 'outtie' Burt in his house - when Irving arrived at the house and saw them in the window.
@@danp2306 Right!
That "We serve Kier child!" still pic is 100% nightmare fuel
Genuinely!
Helly "wins" because they walk towards the building but harmony plays her last card, leaving
though she looks visibly scared and rushes away to and in her car
2:40 uhhh i think helly hanging herself/helena was an innie feuding with an outtie...
You and I are on the same page with these theories👏🏼 We also confirmed in this episode that the board is not a group of living people because Natalie referred to them as “it”
We have seen an innie and outie having a conflict, Helly/Helena. I appreciate the talk about he upcoming episode
Did anyone see Helena had an iPhone when she called the board?
Either a production miss or a clue this world isn’t what it seems.
outie Mark and Ricken have advanced, modern smart phones also
I think Cobel is so interested in mark and Gemma recognizing each other while still being severed because she wants to bring back her mom like lumon brought back Gemma and wants to see if it’s possible if her mom is brought back for her to be able to have a relationship with her like
Mark and Gemma that’s why she wants to see cold harbor finished. To see if it works so she can implement it to her
Dead mother
What do you mean we haven’t had an innie/outie feud…. Did we forget about Helly during the whole first season????
That would be an interesting twist!
I wonder if Dylan's spouse had a hand in pushing him to get a job at lumon. I also wonder if he is disabled rather than lazy.
if his spouse dismissed valid issues like disability and refused to support him or understand his perspective it could bring up another thread around race and oppression in the show. Dylan falling for a version of his partner that's sweet and loving and says I love you could be complicated if she ignores the harm of being severed and loves a version of him that forgets abuse or any harm
in our reality it would be like pushing your partner to get plastic surgery to fit an ideal then cheating and breaking up with them and saying loudly that you prefer a natural body and refusing to accept accountability for pressuring people into getting plastic surgery
Why didn’t Mark ask more questions about his wife? Like, how? Did they clone her? Etc etc
We need a Kobel origin story
What if Dylan is DEPRESSED and NOT LAZY??
Just an unispired loser, who got someone pregnant and lets life dictate to him.
i think the severance floor is just a virtual reality and not a real place. they went into a hibernate state in the elevator and then wake up and the end of the simulation.
That would be disappointing; thank goodness it is wrong. Innies take their injuries back outside. Unsevered employees exist on the outside.
There would be no reason for Dylan to be giving a fake head injury, there’s no reason for the ceo to say the innie hurt Helena
What if Lumen is trying to hijack a person's body and insert another person's conciseness to become that body's innie or outie ? That is - Cold Harbor is about isolating Gemma's conciseness, so that this part can become an outie and act as a host , and the innie will be inserted from a totally different person ?
or maybe so that isolated conciseness can be extracted , separated from the body and sent to the "great revolving"
Episode 3 was easily the best episode
S1E1 and S1E9
I think reintegration should not be so traumatic.
Effectively when one side is active, the other is asleep.
So, really there is no loss of synchrony, as his memories of time will just be like changing a channel.
There would not be two memories competing for the same time periods.
The only thing the brain would need to reconcile is the thoughts and feelings of each other.
That should not be so bad, either, as it would simply be like being aware of, and remembering your dreams every night.
Unless brain hemorrhaging is not too traumatic.
It’s been confirmed that the breathing tube is her mothers
interesting commentary. I look forward to Episode 4 🎉
Same here! Glad you enjoyed the video
I am confused: are Export and the Test floor the same thing?
I think yes. I think there have been inferences from different characters referencing the same elevator/hallway but by different names.
We don't know, but they use the same elevator.
I fuqing love this show.
It's too good!
I thought Dylan had depression and the procedure helped and allowed him to work.
Definitely could be the case to be fair
None mentions the fking modern phone with a 40 year old car park and IT infrastructure? This is contemporary.
What about the goats???
No mention of the goat people 👀
The goats are a red herring. They are raised for their milk so the upper management can have Kier's favorite breakfast...3 raw eggs in a glass of milk.
Dylan is only in it for himself. I don’t trust him.
