I spent a lot of my ARMY days on the east coast, and I have actually been to the Gay Dolphin gift shop. if I remember right there was a local mom and pop ice cream shop next to it. that is outstanding, just you saying that brought back a lot of memories. thanks for checking us out.

They loved buying little toys and knick knacks for all the grandkids. I haven't been to dirty Myrtle since the Pavilion was demolished. Lots of childhood memories riding the Swamp Fox wooden roller coaster and then walking the strip and going to the magic attic as a teenager!

The first knife I bought with my own money was a made in Pakistan Buck 110 clone around 40 years ago and it's still in my collection mind you it's not something I carry today but it still brings back some fond memories. I lost my first knife as well.😔 It was a fixed blade, roughly 5" clip/bowie with a plastic faux stag handle. Near the end, the handle had electrical tape holding the plastic together, which had cracked from you guessed it...throwing it at trees lol.

Actually now that I think about it, I think my parents took it away bcuz I was carving stuff in my bedroom. lol It would be cool to see if they still somehow have it. It was actually too big for me. I wasn’t supposed to carry around unless we were camping or hiking. I used to sneak it out every once in a while. My dad was in the army and we moved a lot, on our last move the knife disappeared along with some other things. I bought another later but it wasn’t quite the same.
I know how you feel. I never replaced my Case canoe, because it wasn't the one my dad gave me. I still have my buck 110 from highschool FFA.(1983) thanks for checking us out.

I was such a tomboy, (ok, still am, lol) climbing trees and rocks and showing my brothers how to be boys, he thought I should have a knife. Not long after that he gave all three of us a Rambo knife. lol

Congrats on growing! My first knife was what looked like a Kamp King but didn't have Kamp King on it. It was my dad's first knife as a kid. It was red with colored flakes in the handle. It had its main blade and then can opener on one end and bottle opener/screw driver on the other. Unfortunately like you I no longer have it.

My first knife was an old timer folder with two blades. My Grandfather gave it to me when I was nine or ten. He got it from the lost and found / confiscated item bin at the high school he worked at. The school had a policy that if a kid was seen with a knife it was taken. To get it back a kid had to have their parents request it back. I they did not inform their parents or the parents didn't come to retrieve it, it became fair game for the staff after a month or so. Go my first half dozen knives this way.
My first knife was a sawback clip point fixed blade knife. Lost it when I was on a Scouting trip. My second knife was a Boy Scouts of America Camp Knife.

I have a victorinox cadet growing up. When I was younger, I use to watch MacGyver and that is where the ideal came from.

Congrats on growing! My first knife was what looked like a Kamp King but didn't have Kamp King on it. It was my dad's first knife as a kid. It was red with colored flakes in the handle. It had its main blade and then can opener on one end and bottle opener/screw driver on the other. Unfortunately like you I no longer have it.

My first knife was an old timer folder with two blades. My Grandfather gave it to me when I was nine or ten. He got it from the lost and found / confiscated item bin at the high school he worked at. The school had a policy that if a kid was seen with a knife it was taken. To get it back a kid had to have their parents request it back. I they did not inform their parents or the parents didn't come to retrieve it, it became fair game for the staff after a month or so. Go my first half dozen knives this way.
