Why on earth would you remove the lid? I see no benefit in doing that, you are exposing the internal components to possible damage.

Thank you for your comment. We remove the lid because it sticks out about an inch and if it is not removed, there is a chance that the piano and its weight will sit on the lip once it is on the board and that will cause the hinges to break or bend.

@@MovingWithClass the lid is suppose to hang off the side of the piano board, you know that.
