    This answers quite a few questions I've been having about which sampler module to go with. Live looping is a big one for me. Thanks!

      I realize it's pretty off topic but do anyone know of a good site to watch new series online ?

      @Everett Karter i would suggest flixzone. Just search on google for it :)

    Nice! I don't have any of the NE modules (completely sold out here in Korea, and it looks like most other places) so they're on standby for now. I'm just getting to grips with my BitboxM2 though, and it looks like I made a good choice. I can trigger drums from Marbles or Beatstep Pro or Ableton, I can sample and loop from anything in my rack or from 0-Coast or Minibrute 2S. Hell, I can even just play a whole goddamn song and noodle over it. Modular Karaoke, here I come. And that's just with the Bitbox firmware. Then there's the swappable sd cards to add FX Box or Synth Box. It's an incredibly versatile module. I've still got a lot to learn about using it, but I know it will deliver for a long time.

    I never saw the appeal of these until now. Well done!

    At first I was very sceptical and refused to have a look into this "little computer module". I did not want too much digital and daw-like modules in my rack but this is just awesome. It is a pain to record single outs into your DAW if you feel like recording. It just kills the workflow so massively for me. And if you feel like it you can just take your recordings to your DAW afterwards with the SD. I was looking into getting an Octatrack or Boss looper for this purpose but this just seems so perfect and intuitive! What is your long term review?
    Awesome track as well!

      Well, I own three so I guess my 'review' would be kind of subjective. I owned Sample Drums from Erica and the Assimilator from Rossum and the BitBox just fits my workflow best. It's so easy to switch drum kits and record 'in case' with correct timing and loops. But I feel a midi clock (from the Toolbox) works best. I had mixed (bad) results with different modular clocks. Yarns works well and Metron too. It's important to be able to set a BPM on your clock and if you use loops a lot, you need to make sure the clock is the same setting as the BitBox loops you've recorded. So it takes some time to figure out the best workflow.

      PS if you use one shot drum sounds then obviously this looping BPM challenge does not exist. Any gate sequencer will work fine.

    Question - I have a micro and am trying to record BIA kick clip. Do I need to have my external clock syncing bitbox as I’m recording a 2 bar drum loop? I can’t seem to get my loop to sync up with internal clock. No great tutorials on recording clips that are tempo specific that I can find. Love your channel a lot, keep up the great work!

      Bitbox Micro works a bit different from my MK1. I would have an input configured as CLK to make sure the loop will have the same speed as your original. You should see the numbers count with the same speed. Then set the loop to a fixed set of bars and record it. It should loop seamlessly. This works best when you have a clock with a fixed BPM like Pamela's new Workout or a Metron. But the absolute winner of clocks is to use midi clock, e.g. from a beatstep pro. When the loop is finished you can sync with 1/16 if you change speed later.

    just curious what you've had happen when "pushing it too far with unexpected results"

      It will just crash on you, audio gets garbled and out of sync.

    Just came across your channel. Very Nice content. Technical comment. Do you have problems connecting all those models to the MN share system case? Is there enough power on the bus board? Or did you upgraded the original one?

    • @CinematicLaboratory
      @CinematicLaboratory  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, thanks for checking out my channel! No, the MN shared case is 1500 mAh as far as I know, and there's plenty of power for most combo's like the one shown. However, there are some combos that don't work - like DFAM + M32 + a bunch of other modules with LED displays. So it's a bit of an experiment.

    Is the kick dry? Sounds quite massive :D

    • @CinematicLaboratory
      @CinematicLaboratory  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, it's using the Clouds reverb to make it massive. Very simple, but sounds insane.

      No, this is BitBox V1 with the old firmware. Nothing wrong with it :).

      Ah, the bitbox is really amazing. I owned an expensive Assimilator before, but BitBox was just the sampler I was looking for. But it needs to fit your workflow.
