It can NEVER be overstated how influential and prolific Ice-T is as an artist in general but ESPECIALLY in Hip Hop. I'm glad he's doing interviews and telling his WHOLE story. People (especially Hip Hop) have a VERY short memory and forget how old Ice-T is AND big he is in hip hop. Ice-T is the ORIGINAL west coast rapper (pre-dates N.W.A) and was so before people even believed it was possible. The man is just great really got to see hip hop grow he along with it! Thank you all so much for having him on. History WILL NOT BURY hip hop nor its legends. More of these please. Thanks again for posting.
This is real world knowledge he's dropping. Much respect to Ice T! Also that Grammy performance was definitely something special to the world of music. I'm raising my glass to two of the most 100% real people in this industry right now!
I remember over 15 yrs ago Ive T was shooting an episode of Law and Order on the street...dude was off camera...some dude driving shouts "YO ICE T!" Ice T just turned around and waved at him and went back to the scene lol not sure why but that was just so smooth its embedded in memory
My mentor, the most versatile O.G. of all times. The teacher, pimp, player, hustler, baller, revolutionairy, originator, entertainer, businessman, entrepreneur, etc.
Always Gone LIVE! Watched this interview earlier, it was Dope...I appreciate Ice-T and always like hearing him talk especially about his career and longevity
I already know this is going to be a dope interview. I was introduced to Ice T when he dropped New Jack Hustla and I bought the OG album on cassette. Then he did Body Count and Home Invasion. Of course New Jack City. Got his book too. Salute to a true legend
He's highly regarded as the first actual gangsta rapper and he's one of the pillars of rap. He inspired rappers from Pusha T (who got his name from one of his songs) to Eminem (who stated that he studied him amongst others when he was learning the ropes). There's no NWA without Ice T, and there's no 90's era without NWA.
I have a,ways said, Ice gives the best interviews. He is the exact antithesis of Jay Z. It never seizes to amaze me just how articulate and wise Ice is. For a man who hardly went to school and learnt all his learnt on the street it’s truly remarkable. It probably explains how he has survived and thrived this long right in the trenches. Dude got genius moves. This man’s IQ must be off the charts.
Hardly went to school? He went to college AND was in the Army. Lol. Most successful rapper (especially in the "modern" era) have some college under their belts. But Ice-T IS very unique from his era in a LOT of different ways and his grind and movement and articulate ability are DAMN great. He's LEGENDARY for a reason. Lol.
@@Jj-ty7qh how you tell someone that they won’t understand something if you explain it to them? That just means you are not good at explaining things lol wtf! YOU move on.
Ice-T I have been a fan since cop killer and then heard the group NWA but did not know you were a OG rapper for another 10 years. Respect for both but love the body count (metal)
Ice T and Big Daddy Kane came to my high school in Milwaukee when he dropped High Roller...shout out to the living legend OG Ice T and all his decades of success
Man - ice t is an amazing emcee and has such a dope voice . Peace to the OG . Always dropping gems and showed us how to keep it a 100 and be able to fluidly move throughout the culture.
It was great to see the OG Ice T for this interview. I’ve been listening to this man for too much years (lol) and the man has always had the same positive/player attributes. My first record I bought from him (showing my age now) was ‘Squeeze The Trigger’ and just was blown away from what I was hearing, although admittedly it was for the beat, but once I had it for myself I began to analyse the lyrics. And being from England, to hear what the man was speaking was soo profound: I couldn’t believe it. I became a fan instantly, went out and bought the album too. You know what done my head in? Is when I realised that he was the man rapping on stage at Radiotron!!! (If you know, you know) But great interview all the same, and much respects to you both! Bless up.
"You don't guide life you ride" That a great quote .... I mean essentially you can do some guiding of your life in a sense but I get what he's saying over all the things you can't control - u jus got learn to ride with it .... Loved ice tea shout out to him and his awesome family I got to meet him and Coco when they came to Milwaukee. He was so nice
Ice T deserves a lot more credit for how diverse his music is and how much he's pioneered different styles, between one of the first west coast gangsta rapper, to his heavy metal stuff with Body Count. Ice T is the man
This is a great interview! 😂 This video played automatically after the video I was watching ended. I was too busy to change the video. Ended up watching the whole interview. Whole time, I would’ve never chosen to watch this jawn. Salute to Ice T for being a cool-ass OG! 🫡
Marquees said that because he heard it from someone else Ice T made that song in '93 but the 1st person to say I got 99 problems and a b!tch ain't one was JT Money from The Poison Clan back in '91 on his Poinsonous Mentality Album and they came out under Uncle Luke and Brother Marquees (2 Live Crew)

I met Ice-T in the 90s at Hard Rock Café in Montreal. He was so kind, humble and explained he was filming Johnny Pneumonic!
Man that gem he dropped about social media being an illusion was so Ill I had to write it down verbatim and post it on FB ! Salute to the OG!
I love when rappers bring wisdom to interviews.❤❤❤
One day with age most will ..
That's the best part of Hip-Hop's Culture
Ol school rappers are very smart intellectual type guys.
No matter how many times I hear him answer the New Jack City questions, I will always laugh at how Ice says, "Word, can I be in the movie." 😆
GREAT interview. Nothing but love and respect for L.A. player Ice-T, the O.G. of this isht. Always pick up the game this man drops.

31:13 haha when Eminem appeared with LL Coolj, in his entrance to going back to Cali he starts with "na I don't think so" 😂😂😂 great❤

Ice t was a star of a great movie where he plays a homela man given money by the risk and is hunted by them its called surviving the game
One of my favorite movies
That was a good movie
Fact! That is actually my favorite Ice-T film followed by New Jack City and Trespass.
Fuck Yeah Still one of my favorites
Surviving The Game is the title of that movie.
