Nice video. I am on the fence between the Trek SL 5 Emonda (quick silver) and the BMC Team machine SLR seven. The BMC is about $200 Canadian dollars more. I’m 90kg, 45 years old and ride about 60km, three times a week. Your input is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Nice and straight to the point video, not many channels review bikes at the lower end. I'm a BMC guy, but am having a hard time trying to justify the cost of the lower end Teammachine bikes. I was even looking into the ALR series, but the availability hasn't been there.
@@CyclingInsider I have a 2016 BMC timemachine I was able to get on sale 5 or so years ago for 1700. I looked at many of those brands you’ve mentioned. Merida isn’t available in USA, Giants pricing seems to be not as competitive as years past and many Canyon models aren’t available yet. I was able to find a 2022 SLR5 with Ultegra for 3500, a 400 discount from MSRP. Seemed like decent value for mechanical Ultegra. It actually should be arriving today!
I’m still undecided whether to take the teammachine or road machine. I came from a mountain bike about to buy my first road bike. Can’t decide between the two.
I’m after a first bike for triathlons and associated training. I’ve been looking at the BMC SLR 7. I’m 100kg and 159cm so would be an XS Frame. I’m looking at riding at a local outdoor velodrome, road and bike paths. Is this a bike you would recommend? I was also looking at the Merida Scultura 400. What would be best?
BMC is usually very expensive. First decide on your budget, and then look at brands like Canyon, Merida, Scott, Giant and see what you can get. Merida Scultura is excellent bike.
It depends what else is available in your area. Also have a look at Canyon, Giant, Merida and Scott all for circa $2,500. That BMC is a good bike for $2,500.
Thank you! Very good part Upgrade suggestions, too👍
Thanks

Go with the Trek Emonda SL5. Then use the $200 to service the bike in the next few years.
@@CyclingInsider Thanks for the input. Happy Easter.

Thanks! Unfortunately BMC is a premium brand and they charge for it. Have a look at Giant TCR, Merida, and Canyon bikes.

@@usman5140 Very good price for SLR5

If you want comfort and relax geometry, then go with BMC Roadmachine.
@@CyclingInsider how uncomfortable are aero? Will i last one hour without back/neckpain? I’m fit and only weighs 67kg.
@@crazylittlebigthings You will be fine for 1 hour ride. Aero bikes are not so uncomfortable.
@@CyclingInsider thank you. I think i’ll go with teammachine.

I'm between this and the Supersix EVO 105 for racing/long-rides
Just go with the cheaper of these two. Very similar.
I can get one for $2299 with a free bike fit. With tax, probably close to $2500. Is that a good value? What else would you recommend?

Would you recommend over the roadmachine?
Roadmachine is going to be better for majority of people because it is endurance bike with a bit more relaxed geometry.
@@CyclingInsider but I race triathlons sometimes with a roadbike.
I'm between the SLR 5 and the Giant TCR Adv 1. I want the bike for racing and long rides, I do about 300kms weekly
Go with Giant TCR
@@CyclingInsider I did it!
I just bought my TCR. Thanks for the advice. 🚴
@ Amazing bike. You will enjoy it. So light and fast.
Also, what's the differences between this and the SLR seven? They both have Shimano 105 groupsets
This video is BMC Teammachine SLR Seven
