    This video wasn’t exactly specific to my application but it was a tremendous help. The Extreme Short Shaft kit came with everything I needed to get the job done. Outstanding work on this video, it made my project possible and I am truly appreciative!

    Glad to see an aftermarket solution that enable 2WD Low. The last vehicle I drove that you could do this with was my Dad's `89 F-150, 2L was accomplished by just leaving the front hubs unlocked and pulling the transfer case lever back to 4L. It is great when you are 12 years old and need to move a truck with a manual transmission through the yard. Or teaching someone how to drive a manual transmission and getting them used to the clutch pedal before introducing the gas pedal. Or maneuvering a trailer in a tight area where low speed and not binding the steering helps out a lot.

    This is one of the best of not the best install video I have ever seen.

    That was a great video!! Looks like I did mine the right way as well! It's a fun upgrade to do and fixes the vibration issues associated with a suspension lift. I also upgraded with adjustable upper control arms to tilt the axle angle.

    A short shaft or SYE helps to correct your driveling angle by allowing you to run a longer driveshaft in a lifted Jeep.

      Is there any videos showing the use of the 2wd low kit? I want to see how it operates on the trail.

    Do you have to program the speed sensor after install? I just got a TJ that has this kit in it but the speedometer doesn’t work.

    Why does the new yoke push back into the transfer case when you are installing the rear driveshaft? that cant be correct? And why does the tone ring hit the pump? cause it does in the kit I just put in.

  • @rizzicon

    I have an 08 Rubicon. Can I put the 2WD Low in the transfer case. Without doing the short shaft? What will it do for me? Not sure how it works. ?

    do you need new driveline shafts if you do the SYE?

    • @zero7negative
      @zero7negative 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. You'll need a longer drive shaft if you're doing the super short SYE.

    Silicone is for bathrooms and sex toys it shouldn't come anywhere near a vehicle. Why, because it's 2015 theres better stuff available. It's called anerobic gasket maker, it outperforms silicone in every way except filling gaps. It's seals better, it's easier to remove the old stuff and it only cures in the absence of oxegen. Only what's sandwiched in between the parts cures so even if you use too much there is nothing to plug pick-up screens. The permatex part number for the small tube is 51813.

    How does the speed sensor account for bigger tires and different gear ratios?

    • @teraflexsuspensions
      @teraflexsuspensions  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      You will need to install a TruSpeed Unit to adjust for the new bigger tires/gears.

    • @DigiCrazed
      @DigiCrazed 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** You need to figure out what gear you need, depending on tire size and gear ratio etc, and replace the 'speed-o gear' on the speed-o gear assembly (which will cost about $15-20. Check on Jeep forums and google. There's tons of articles on how to do this.

    • @teraflexsuspensions
      @teraflexsuspensions  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sometimes the yoke nut gets loose enough to allow the tone ring to slip or even spin freely. If your speedo all of a sudden stopped, it may just be a loose yoke nut. If that doesn't work give us a call and we can help diagnose the issue. 801-713-3314

    I just bought the teraflex super short sye but, i cant find the cv driveshaft to work with that sye, or the normal cv driveshaft that works with the normal sye is going to work with my teraflex super short sye???

    • @teraflexsuspensions

      This kit must be used w/ a CV style (double cardan) driveshaft. Talk to your a driveshaft specialist for options to match your lift.

    they left out aa important step, the last thing you need to do is to tighten the nuts back down on the transmission mount to the belly pan.

    Just as a heads-up to anyone, do NOT buy channellock pliers. They are 100% pure garbage.
    You absolutely must buy the Wilde 9" external lock ring pliers, or any good tool brand (matco, snap on).
    Turned an easy project into an absolute nightmare. Whoever designed those pliers needs their hands cut off and eyes gouged out so they can't under engineer anything again.
