Having see your other videos, I was going to ask if you were interested in a apple scion trade but I see you moved to OZ. Keep up the gardening videos I find reviews like yours very helpful!
Thanks mate, I've moved to Perth but will be back in Ireland in a few years. Hopefully I can get a video of my garden when I'm next visiting. I'm renting out the house so I hope the tenants are interested in fruit trees. I'd like to see a video of your trees :) Also, Amelia Apples are good scion providers. They're in the UK.
@@Julian-Eire Hi Julian, just came across your video after seeing the one on growing Mullberry in Cork. Hoping to grow some varieties in Co Tyrone. I went to a wwoof farm south of Perth 20 years ago, Jeff Nugent, permaculture teacher, I think he grew Asimina triloba, and where I developed my addiction for Feijoa fruit, impossible to buy in Ireland unfortunately. If you get down to Nannup, give him a call, he's a really lovely guy, and a mine of knowledge on fruit growing.
@@jamesdevlin6373 thanks for the tip! I wish I had know of Jeff Nugent a couple of years ago because I have recently moved to Brisbane. Now I'm trying to grow "tropical" apples that don't require winter chill hours. Mango season here was awesome and I now have a new favourite, Honey Gold 🙌
@@Julian-Eire yeah freshly picked mangos must be gorgeous. Another permaculture place I wwoofed at ten years ago was Geoff Lawton's Zatuna farm, a couple of hours from Brisbane. He has a food forest with Cutard apples, Feijoa, Mullberrys, Inga Bean trees, Monstera, Loquats and lots of other fruits and vegetables. Worth a visit, and close to Byron Bay. All the best in your travels.
The Asimina Triloba in Perth is growing really well. Much healthier than the plant in Ireland. No disease and very little pest damage. Also good growth rate. It's growing under a frangipani tree (that is deciduous) in dappled sunlight. No flowers yet.
Have you considered trying to grow the Mirabelle again now that you've moved climates to a warmer place? You should check out the comment I left on your Mirabelle de Nancy in Cork video. I'll copy and paste it below in a reply to this comment

@@jamesdevlin6373 thanks mate! I'll probably go check it out. It might remind me of my younger days when I also WOOFed (and didn't have a bad back!).
Where did you get that species in Perth ?
That’s interesting, how are these Asimina Trilobas doing now?

Julian that’s awesome, well done, you should do an update. I’ve got about 30 seeds I need to plant out in pots.
