  • Camino de Santiago - Camino Frances | Our 500 Miles (800 KM) Journey
    The Camino de Santiago has been traveled for centuries by Christian pilgrims following the Way of St. James. In June 2022, my wife, three young boys (12,9,5) and I walked from St. Jean Pied de Port to Santiago de Compostela. It was an unforgettable experience that challenged both body and mind.

      Hi Cathy! The heatwave we experienced on the Camino was something wasn’t it? We survived and boy it was an experience to cherish. We hope you’re doing well and planning on another Camino. 😃 Thanks for watching Cathy and Buen Camino.

      Thanks for watching! April, I’m excited for you. It’s a good time to go. We went when Europe was experiencing an unusual heatwave which made it difficult for some stages. We met a gal also from the Netherlands started out in Burgos. We were her first “Buen Camino”, we had a good 30 mins conversation coming out of Burgos. I learned a “scooter” is “steps” for you guy LoL. Everyone Camino is different, you do your “Camino”. I’m sure it will be an amazing and unforgettable experience for you. There were some challenges along the way, but it made it more memorable. We wish you a Buen Camino!!!

    oh great, I absolutely enjoyed watching your journey again. Camino is calling, 92 days and counting until our camino with kids will start! Buen camino to you!

      Wow, 92 more days. I’m so excited for you, I know the feeling. Hope you dialed in on your gears. With kids I strongly recommend making reservation ahead to guarantee a bed for the night. Definitely use bag transfer (can’t beat 5 euro, your back will thanks you). As for me, Camino Primitivo is calling, 49 more days. Funny thing is once Camino enter our heart it’s hard to shake it off. Sadly, this Camino will be a solo Camino, no wife or kids. Hope you’ll have a beautiful Camino. Buen Camino to you as well!

      @@Gettinglostonthetrail thank you! The solo Camino will be great, I am sure. We are a couple who met on the Camino, so we kind of know what is waiting for us… I walked the Camino Frances in 2010 and parts of it in 2011 and 2012. 2015 I walked the Camino de Norte and met a Belgian guy who now is my husband. In may we’re gonna show our little girls where mum and dad met.

      That’s right! I remember. You’re a Camino veteran. The Camino is definitely calling you back, I love it. What a great story to tell your kids and be able to show them. That’s just awesome. I’m very excited for you.

    Hi again! Can’t stop watching you all on this journey-
    Did you use a drone? And if so, which drone did you use?

    • @Gettinglostonthetrail
      @Gettinglostonthetrail  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching. DJI mini 2. Ultra lightweight and you don’t need to register to fly it. It’s fun to fly it. Almost lost it on Day 15th as we were working on the steep hill with high wind. Took me awhile to locate it while oldest son and wife pushed the stroller up the hill without me.

  • @meqqui8249
    @meqqui8249 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Wow, amazing! With the kids and the three wheel stroller!
    How many days did it take you all to walk? I’m leaving in april 2023. 😊

      Thanks for watching. Took us 35 days. When we got to Melide we shorten the hike so we can arrive to Santiago for the Feast of Saint James (July 25th). Biggest challenge for us was Europe unusual heatwave that summer. Overall, memorable Camino. April is a good time. Not too hot and not too crowded. No need for bed race. Warning, Camino is very addicting. Once Camino enter your heart you can’t shake it off. I’m coming back in a few weeks for the Primitivo. Enjoy your Camino. Slow down and listen to the birds. Buen Camino!!!
