Please have a hug 🤗 from me, and give Eric a hug 🤗 from me too. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
Jo I just found you not to long ago and I've got to tell you Darling that you are so very gifted in talent. I Love,Love, Love everything that do make up. Absolutely Breathtakin Beautiful Jo there quite exquisite. Thank You so very much for sharing with all of us ❤ My little Bella has to set on my lap as I'm crafting, but she only weights 5 pounds she's a wee little fur baby. Alot smaller than your precious Eric 🤭🤭Giggles 🤭🤭 XOXO Vicki from the United States in the State of Utah. Oh I gotta tell you also watching you is so relaxing, I do enjoy watching you all day and nights when I can't sleep. I'm 62 years old😊❤❣Love and Blessings Jo😊❤❣
Jo, Such a gorgeous card. I didn't join in, I was finishing other cards. My other half thinks I'm having a party in my crafting space, you have made me laugh so much, just to have you chatting at the side of me, reminds me of crafting days with my friends. Nearly there Jo, first vaccine done, only another 11 weeks to the next. You take care, you have been a life saver over the last year.
Love love love this card, right up my street Jo. I am exactly like you, start doing something, leave that and do something else then forget to o back to the first thing!!!!!!!! Love and hugs Jane xxxx
Yet another delicious lovely card. Enjoy EVERY one of your videos. Always a new tip or two I NEED, too. Thank you so much for each and every video. Enjoy your spring poppings in your garden. Snow here yet but looking forward to new alliums and daffodils I planted in fall. Take care of you!
Another fantastic lesson jo Haven’t got any pastels at all yet. But just the meadow design is something any one starting out could achieve. Love all your quirks and chatting it means a lot to some of us all alone .
Denise it definitely does, I really look forward to Jo’s tutorials, sometimes being on your own is very difficult and these are the tutorials that make the difference for us 😘 xx
Jo, you are like the Monty Don of card marking, as soon as I hear your voice my whole body relaxes! Thank you for making these, I only have a handful of stamps as I just bought a starter kit bit I enjoy watching you making different cards none the less.
Smashing card as always Jo. I have some pan pastels in my craft room that are gathering dust so will have to dig them out. Thanks for the hug, we all need a hug at the moment so am sending one back to you too. Take care and stay safe ❤️❤️
After watching you with all your beautiful demos it’s giving me the urge to get my pan pastels out and use them iv had them since they first it the market years ago xx
Hehehe, I write myself a note and either forget where I put the note or I forget to take it with me when I go out shopping :-) Love your card, Jo and your tutorial. I've never worked with pan pastel. Something new to try :-)
That was fantastic Jo . Really had no idea how to use pan pastels so was very intriguing watching your technique’s . Thanks for creating this tutorial for us xx❤️
Hugs back! That is so lovely! Next month I'll either be getting pan pastels or Cricut maker. I have Pastels in mind from HSN which is a TV Shopping Network here in the states. But then I found out they're going to have a special on the maker so I have to see if I have enough left on my card. At any rate hopefully I will get pan pastels soon. I've used similar chalks before, but I understand these are creamier. I love your card, and the Wildflower that you stamped first is shouting at my brain "you need me" lol
So beautiful Jo, absolutely love those pan pastels, they are super smooth they really are. Your work is gorgeous and your card ‘took me to that meadow’!! Very much needed at the moment, another fabulous tutorial xx😘
Another great lesson. I love listening and learning from you so much. I do not know if it is too much to ask, but could you state what colors you have used.? I have tried myself with what I have, but it does not give the desired effect. I can see that this is the powder effect that is needed.
This is an absolutely beautiful card, Jo!!! This medium looks kinda fun to use but I see they can be a bit expensive. For someone just starting out, could you perhaps recommend a good combination of colors to begin with before investing a whole lot of money? Thank you so much. I truly enjoy your work and your wonderful stories. Take special care.
Linda I live in the United States and I sent orders from Amazon. I don't know where you live, but I've ordered 3 or 4 sets of set of 12 different shades and in each set there's 2 tones pre color. They even have Pearlescent jewels sets. They run for 12.99-14.99 somewhere around there. It's a good starter set.. AMAZON Reviews Classic Chalk Set by Pebbles Inc. | Basic Brights | Includes 30 chalks in various colors, applicator tool, and reusable pom-poms Try them out.
Jo, you inspire me in so many ways!! I love all of your work! This is the first time I have seen anything of “pan pastels” and I am wondering if they need to be sealed or have a finishing spray added after the card is complete??? This card is beautiful and I hope to get some and try this!! ❤️ Thank you for sharing your knowledge and talent!
Thank you for this I love it. I don't have any pan pastels but I do have the sticks which I bought some time ago and never used not really knowing how to, so after watching your video decided to give them a try. Oh dear, not as easy as you make it look! Do you use special sponges, the only way I could get mine to work was by creating some dust on my mat and then sponging them on and then the colour wasn't particularly strong , so I resorted to using the stick directly to the cardstock. The effect wasn't good I hasten to add. I live in Spain and it is difficult to get hold of supplies especially now we have to pay import duty, so I try to use alternatives that I can get locally. Do you use special sponges for instance as I can only get hold of makeup sponges and they do seem to disintegrate very quickly. I also found that the sticks resisted the eraser. The pan pastels seem to look more creamy if I try rubbing the sponge on my stick hardly anything goes onto the sponge. I am looking forward to your future videos in the hope that I might get better results. I do follow your blog and enjoy your creations. Thank you. If I manage to do this card I will send a pic.
I love ❤️ your videos- it truely is like catching up with a friend. I don’t have any pan pastels- yet... what colours would you recommend to start with? What would you recommend using instead of the pan pastels to make the card? Is there something similar?
Hello joe, Thank you for another inspirational tutorial. Was wondering, can you add water to pan pastel powder and use it like brusho with a gel plate? Molls xx
Mollie, lovely to hear from you, you can add water to the pastel (not direct to the pan though ) and paint with it...I haven’t tried with the gel press but will look into it...cheers xx❤️
Thanks for another lovely card Jo. I have regular stick pastels, but none of the pan variety. Do you need to seal the pan pastels in any way to stop them rubbing off?
Jo, do you need to put anything over the pan pastels to seal it and keep it from coming off on the recipient’s fingers??? They will definitely be touching and rubbing it!!!
Jo...I love your work...I just wish your videos were a bit shorter...when you have other people that you follow and want to see their demos also it is a long time out of peoples busy lives...I hate having to choose who to watch and who not too....I know a lot of crafters feel the same....Tracy at Lavinia Stamps seems to get the timing of her videos down to an average of 15 minutes...perfect....love Jane x
I disagree. I enjoy the longer videos as much as the shorter. Jo and Tracey’s styles are different I think, and I enjoy both for their differing styles, including the chat that goes with it. But each to their own.
I think they are all timed really well, if they were rushed and ‘cut down’ they wouldn’t be so interesting, I love all the tips and tricks that jo uses. I don’t rush any of my art work and have never produced a ‘masterpiece’ in 15 minutes. It takes time to create such a beautiful piece of artwork and I for one appreciate how time consuming a piece of work is. If I rushed my artwork I certainly wouldn’t enjoy doing it so maybe jo feels the same?
I too disagree. I don't enjoy rushed Art. I really appreciate that Jo takes the time to explain what She is doing and why She does things the way She does. It takes Me hours to create a Card and seeing Other's who speed up the video and leave out so much detail that for Me is important to see. I enjoy listening to Jo and Her caring heart. You can watch the video when you have the time. They'll still be available.
I disagree also . Some of us are all alone the videos are not long enough for me . For me it’s like sitting with a friend also jo gives so many hints and tips on crafting in fact she is giving me a free lesson .

This is a gorgeous card. The glitter really sets it off. The beauty really is in the details isn't it.

Fantastic Tip Jo! I don't have pan pastels, I'm gonna try it with my Jane Davenport pastels
It’s like putting eye makeup on, the blending and the light colour blending them together

Beautiful card. You make things look so easy. Are pan pastels like chalk? What is the name brand?
Can you please list the colors you use in your video descriptions
No what is the name of the fan shaped water brush you use? I want to find one for me. Thank you!
Hi Alta, thanks so much for watching, and the fan shaped water brush is a fun brush available from Lavinia stamps in the uk. They have a website xx❤️
