Shola
Recipe in English:
Ingredients:
-Oil/Melted ghee ½ Cup
-Pyaz (Onion) sliced 1 medium
-Beef qeema (Beef Mince) 250 gm
-Adrak lehsan paste (Ginger garlic paste) 1 tbs
-Garam masala powder 1 tsp
-Dhania powder (Coriander powder) 1 tsp
-Lal mirch powder (Red chili powder) 2 tsp or to taste
-Haldee powder (Turmeric powder) ½ tsp
-Dahi (Yogurt) ¼ Cup
-Palak (Spinach) finely chopped 1 Cup
-Soya (Dill) 1 tbs
-Hari methi (Fresh fenugreek leaves) 2 tbs
-Hari moong daal (Green gram) ½ Cup (soaked for 30 minutes)
-Chawal (Rice) basmati 1 Cup (soaked for 30 minutes)
-Namak (Salt) 2 tsp or to taste
-Pani (Water) 3 Cups
-Desi ghee (melted) 1-2 tbs
-Pyaz (Onion) fried
-Hari mirch (Green chili)
-Adrak (Ginger) Julienne
-Hara dhania (Fresh coriander)
-Lemon juice
Directions:
-In pot,add oil/melted ghee,onion and fry until light brown.
-Add beef mince,ginger garlic paste and mix well until mince changes color.
-Add garam masala powder,coriander powder,red chili powder,turmeric powder,mix well and cook for 5 minutes.
-Add yogurt,spinach,dill,fresh fenugreek leaves,mix well and cook for 3 minutes.
-Add green gram,rice and mix well.
-Add salt and mix well.
-Add water,mix and bring it to boil,cover and cook on low flame for 30-40 minutes.
-Keep mixing & mashing in between,add more water if required,cover and cook for another 10 minutes,mash and cook until desired consistency is achieved.
-Garnish with desi ghee melted,fried onion,green chili,ginger,fresh coriander and lemon juice.
-Serve hot.

-Pot mein oil/melted ghee aur pyaz dal ker light brown fry ker lein.
-Beef qeema aur adrak lehsan paste dal ker qeema ka rang tabdeel hunay taka paka lein.
-Garam masala powder,dhania powder,lal mirch powder aur haldee powder dal ker ache tarhan mix ker lein aur 5 minutes kliya paka lein.
-Dahi,palak,soya aur hari meethi dal ker ache tarhan mix karein aur 3 minutes kliya paka lein.
-Hari moong daal aur chawal dal ker ache tarhan mix ker lein.
-Namak dal ker ache tarhan mix ker lein.
-Pail dal ker mix karein aur ubal anay ka bad dhak dein aur halki ancch per 30-40 minutes kliya paka lein.
-Bech bech mein mix & mash kertay rahen,agar zaroorat ho tou mazeed pani daldein aur mazeed 10 minutes kliya paka lein,mash ker lein aur desired consistency anay tak paka lein.
-Desi ghee metled,fried pyaz,hari mirch,adrak,hara dhania aur lemon juice sa garnish karein.

Dis is usually made in month of Muharram.. N u can also use broken rice instead of rice n all other dals also can be added for best nutrition n as well as taste

Its a traditional dish of Peshawar we use broken rice and beef with bones .and some times channay ki daal.This recipie looks good but in authentic recipie we don't use mince

Aoa, it looks very tasty, but if you cook with meat instead of qeema it will taste much, much better. My mom used to cook with qeema, but after marriage my mother in law told me to make it with left over beef qorma and it turned out great

in place of daal we used Palak spinich and it is so good
Shola is very famous in peshwer but we use meat not mince
We put saag and all left over currys Dall rice and qeema in our home

Ye kichdi type Hoti hai chamach ke Sath ese hi khaen. Yhan Thatta me usually hr moqy pe bmti hai aur her Ghar me lekin ham ese nai bnaty hary masaly zada dalty hen aur palak nai dalty na hi Daal Sirf chawlo me bnaty hen aur qeema nai dalty botyan dalty hen bht zabardast bnti hai.

My nani used to make this. Lekn frying include nhi hoti thi us mai. Rice b mash kr k dalti thin.

Delhi walon ka shola totally different hta jo salan bach the hain jaise nahari,qorma waqira hum uska banate hain shola gosht ni dalte. ye dish basically Delhi wale hi banate hain mostly ye hmri traditional dish hai.

Peshawari recipe is different sometime zuban or alo gosht mai bhi banta hai shola
In peshwar we use lentils like khichri ki daal, chanay ki daal and rice in this and we use meat instead of qeema and mashed all these things at the last we add bhagaar and shola is ready to serve.

In Shola mince didn't use .... actually beef with bones used to make it thicker and yummy....
Peshawari dish but no mince is usef init . But beef . N many faals like channa masoor moong .palak .peas.with rice . This isnot exact receipe.its basically afghani dish

Mince is not used in shola.. Its my most fvrt memory of childhood.when my aunty from peshawer used to make it for us . This is not authentic recipe guyz.
