It's little complicated but I'll try to make as simple as possible. The demand for frontier Nagaland started around 2010. The rationale for the demand can be traced to pre independence period. The area comprising the present District of Tuensang (eastern) remained totally unadministered in the pre-independence days. The British had declared it as an Excluded Area. In 1957, the Tuensang Frontier Division was merged with the Naga Hills District of Assam to form an administrative unit called the Naga Hills Tuensang Area (NHTA). There were only three districts at that time iunder NHTA, Kohima, Mokokchung and Tuensang. To cut it short, As a result of the 16 point agreement signed between the Naga People’s Convention and the Government of India, NHTA became a full-fledged State called Nagaland on 1st December 1963. The reason for demand of Frontier Nagaland have mainly two reasons, first is Historical (as it was an excluded area) and second is economic, as it has been neglected by state govt ever since statehood mainly because people of this region at that time were not much educated and therefore incapable of demanding their due share of development. The subsequent problem of deprivation and inequality in terms of education, healthcare, infrastructure etc continues till today. However, it's unlikely that centre will grant ENPO's demand because there are many such regional demands across the country in form of autonomous or new state that has been raised long before ENPO. And yes Capt N Kenguruse is the pride of Nagas,, we appreciate your honor towards him.
