I’m local to Louisville also, and feel very lucky to have this. Hobby shop is my go to place. I built plastic, I build RC, and I build scratch, this place is heaven. Love your new kit.
Awesome hobby shop Tim, now you need to get busy build some of them kits you got, I know that hard to do in the summer with so many thing going on, Thanks for all you do for this hobby that we love.
Awesome those kits were the best!! Have a few of them from back in the day!! & 3 Front Engine rails. Wish I had some more of them. Thanks for the look & update.😃🏆🏆
Great kit and phenomenal shop! Blueberry/pecan tied for my favorite. My last meal on death row would be one of each. Boston creme, blueberry, pecan. Also a slice of carrot cake and cheesecake. Damn! I so hangry now!
Great review on the Grand Am, looks like a great kit. The extra tubing and wire is a plus, not sure I like the flat braided line but maybe you could run a piece of wire inside of it. I built Ed McCulloch's in the early 70's. Love that hobby shop review, I have to do mail order here. May need to make a run over there with the Hobby shop and the flea markets you have pretty great resources! Be good, have fun!
Those 18th scale funny car is wicked.... Back in the day (70s) the bigger model cars were hard to find. Can't wait to see a few of these cool rides finished. Thank you for the video ✌️😎
Dude, remember back in mid 70’s as a kid going to department store and seeing those wonderful AMT 1/25 trucks? Lol I used to save up a fiver and get a different $4.99 truck kit whenever possible
What was really nice was actually seeing all of the funny cars mentioned here back in the day when we had drag strips everywhere here in So. Cal. Oh for a time machine!
Cool tour of the hobby shop. The old broken down funny car frame pictured on my shop card is from the Grand Am kit. The Joe's power plus gas station diorama is a nice kit. I have the Texaco version of that same kit. ACME is coming up soon.See you there buddy!
Super cool Tim! I got mine yesterday. This is my favorite version. I might get another one in hopes that someone will make different Mickey decals for it. Super happy for you!
Late sixties throughout the seventies I built models, lots of models. Models teach you patience. Cherry pie. Wish we had a model shop where I live, I’d build a few. I liked the big kits but I mostly built 1/24 scale.
Drove about an hour and a half to see this shop. Well worth the drive, plus Bass Pro is close and a couple of malls just down the road. If you're close and into model building I'd highly recommend stopping in.
Nice video Tim, thanks for sharing. That is one cool funnycar. I like that. But that hobbyshop. MAN I envy you. It is many years ago we had a proper hobbyshop in Denmark, and even in the golden era, we did not have any with THAT much stuff.... Boy, would I love to live nearby... And by the way, I am looking foreward to seeing your Millers truck finished. That is one cool semi... 😀 Happy modelling brother... 🙂
How the hell can you go wrong with pecan pie and a funny car, man? Not to mention the Pie Wagon! I love the engine wiring, tubing and dig that braided tubing! I only wish they'd include a driver's figure, seated, in these kits.
First! HA! Got four of these in the stash. Have almost all of them as I revert back to 1972. I built several of these. I ALWAYS adjust the rear ride height buy mounting the rear end upward as I think the finished kit sits goofy. These 1/16 Revell/ repo's are brilliant, brilliant kits IMO. ps it's a GILMER belt. At sixty dollars this is a very fair price IMO. Looking for a Jeb Allen T/F car here in Indy. Nice hobby shop, thanks for the video.
Cheesecake! That qualifies as pie, right? 😂 I’m working on a diorama for ACME. 😉 Very nice hobby shop. I’ve got a HobbyTown USA here (even worked there a few months in 2020). It’s pretty well stocked, but not like yours. Appreciate it while you still have it. Peace and love.
Nice video and a great hobby shop! You probably already know but the Mickey Thompson car has the wrong interior tin according to the Atlantis web site. The hobby shop can get the correct one when Atlantis sends them or you can order one direct from Atlantis. There's no charge.
You sure are lucky to have that hobby shop close by. I envy you. I seen 2 kits I've been wanting, Joe's Gas Station, it won't last long. And the International Dump Truck. It's already hard to find. Do you think they will take an order over the phone and ship it ? This is the first I heard of the Pie Wagon coming out. I'm l👀king forward to that❗
