The music possibly, the composer eh id say hes rated about right considering whenever i look at the comments of videos of shiro's music i see comments about how insansly good of a composer he is, which i agree with. He makes incredible music that fits the scene so well, yet is by itself awesome, and i often out it on when im reading manga fight scenes to help set the mood
@A1 SaucyBoi id say youre underselling humans, people tend to go to videos specifically just to demean its creator because they disagree with its content. As for how well known he is, my quick research did not find anything regarding that but i was able to roughly determine his success as a composer. Note this is simply a quick research from me, please dont take it as absolute fact just my basic argument for the sake of debate So, wealth is not everything but considering money is used by society as a whole to gauge the worth of something, i used the net worth of shiro sagisu vs major living composers to see how successful he was compared to others. According to the BBC, kaija saariaho is the most successful composer alive. www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=musicfinland.com/en/news/kaija-saariaho-voted-greatest-living-composer-by-bbc-music-magazine&ved=2ahUKEwj1keee17TyAhXTaM0KHdr8A_QQFnoECAMQBQ&usg=AOvVaw3H1vqaOA9sEPWM7qxyUh2_&cshid=1629087374505, though this is debatable obviously, i decided to use its decision as a general baseline According to google, her net worth is estimated to be $8M While according to google Shiro Sagisu's is estimated to be $1M to $5M. So, if thats correct and monetary wealth is a good enough general measurement for popularity and success of a composer, then that would mean shiro is amongst the top of the world in skill and success as a composer. If thats true, i wouldnt doubt it, the man really is an amazing composer in my opinion.
To be fair.. the characters in NGE are all traumatized and have some pretty awful character flaws. They are cowards, incapable of loving others, and self-absorbed. Shinji embodies all of these traits and somehow expects others to breach his walls and love/understand him. I don’t hate him though. If anything, I hate what he reveals to me about myself..
Anyone else get goosebumps listening to this song main chorus line? Especially this version seems to really do it. I've never seen the anime this is from but this song alone makes it seem like it would be epic. Like Cowboy Bebop, it's not just the story, or the art, often the music will sell a show.

One of my favorite OST in Evangelion. I love this version of Shinji Ikari OST. The theme is powerful that will play through his childhood into now finding the meaning of his purpose of living. I never hated Shinji in fact I found him very interesting. 😎 10/10
Neon Genesis Evangelion. One of the most well-known anime in the world. Recently added to Netflix. First, watch Neon Genesis Evangelion, the series. Then the cinematic conclusion “The End of Evangelion,” also on Netflix.
th-cam.com/video/rEGOihjqO9w/w-d-xo.html is rachmaninoff's piano concerto #2, which i assume sagisu took direct inspiration from. same glorious piano with accompanying strings, a full orchestra, and even in the same key of c minor!
This is so inexplicable, so harmonic, so expressive, so unique, so beautiful, thanks evangelion... for giving us more than just anime.

Shinji Ikari... The child everyone hates. But no one bothers to try to understand

Good to know =)
SAGISU is actually a huge fan of Rachmaninov's music. A certain rearrangement of Quatre Mains from 3.0's soundtrack is even a tribute to him.
but it's not.
