I get the sense that the equipment, while top quality of course, was a bit tough.. I mean, yeah, they are the best players in the world, no need to make it easy for them, but it seems a bit "heavy".. How is Fred gorst a legendary titan of pool. Hasn't won nearly as many tournaments as SVB, STRICKLAND, SIGEL, EFREN, ETC. CAN COUNT FREDS WINS ON YOUR HAND 😮😮😮

Fedor Gorst did something unique in this triumph. First player to win both World Pool Championship and this US Open title in the same calendar year. Also the first player since Nick Varner in 1989 to win this after losing the previous years final. Fourth player to hold both World title and this simultaneously after Darren Appleton, Joshua Filler and FSR. I feel sorry for being late here as the previous Matchroom Pool Major, the European Open won by Mickey Krause clashed with the 2024 Paris Olympics with the final just ended before the Closing Ceremony. Looks like he, rightfully nicknamed 'The Ghost' has really broken the biggest curse in pool. Anyways, what happened to the Spanish Open and the World Cup of Pool? Both were held last year in June in the same place.
surprised at the nervousness of both players given how seasoned they both are! I remember Gorst showing this type of nervousness and chokery (is that a word? haha) in his final with Kaci. SVB not exactly bringing his a game it seemed.. with his usual quality positional play .. and was unlucky with some of the rolls - and scratches - but Gorst kept his composure at decisive moments and deserved to win. Nice commenting and great footage 😀
