yes i sure do agree im the youngest in my club at 56 when i was a teenager everyone kept some sort of livestock but pigeons was the most popular its a hobby that offers so much to the youth a good hobby can keep you on the right path especially nowadays with so much crap in the world
I've exchanged comments with @neilpratt43 a few times, worrying about the future of the pigeon (and other) fancies, given the lack of younger people being involved.
Pigeons looked shattered when they returned mate maybe get a dropping test..just to see what’s going on .hope you get good returns. Good luck for the rest of the season.
yes i agree they have not been like that weather its the wind the distance or an underlining problem i need to work out jumping them from 140 mikes to 260 in a strong west wind didnt help health wise theirs not an issue i do my own dropppings monthly have done for 20 years and theirs not an issue their but theirs something not quite right as
@@neilpratt43 3 of 30 miles? A week ? Or the season? You’re a passionate pigeon fancier like me . I live miles off the winning line of flight but I had 1 hen that break this season and was high in the club and fed . She had no great training. But I want to train hard from the breaking point all winter. But would I get hit by the BOP and ruin everything I have done this year.
@hendry147147 i never trained after the last race last year but i am thinking of keepimg them sharp with a couple short ones each week till weather gets bad and same again early feb onwards
@@neilpratt43 I finish work at 10 in the morning and I have time to train. It’s going to be interesting to see how they’ll come. Financially I’ll struggle to pay for diesel but I’m really interested in this . Education is very important at the end of the race. The drive for the pigeon to make a decision to break 30 miles away from the loft
can be a frustrating hobby mate . you do everything the same as when they're coming well then next week your not in the hunt (been there) nothing wrong with their trapping though 👍
yes i know what you mean scratching my head im finding in this location if the winds west i see nothing dont think its the birds they have done all and more ive asked of them the ones that where back early have been coming good all season its defo a strange one onwards and upwards 👍😊

Don’t think returns that bad Neil when you look at what’s been happening nationwide…..no explanation to whether it’s health, interference,BOP or dare I say bird quality ( contentious I know ) Does everyone just breed more ?? least you will have a few yearlings to compete

I wish there was more people my age into pigeons too I'm 28 and don't know anyone my age racing pigeons like me

How many times you’ve trained? I’m only asking as I am thinking how many times should I train to see any different in my results
they fly twice a day sun/ thurs min 35 min and get three 30 mile chucks and a couple 12 miles closer torace day

@hendry147147 their down to 3 30 mile tosses now but prior to racing starting they went every day

There was more birds going south over Staithes’s today very strange race today
its crazy how that happens but can see why 👍

had 2 drop in this morning so down to 5 missing
