I hope they focus more on single player for this mod, the whole reason i gave up on pixelmon was because it felt too dependant on the multiplayer, maybe they could add some more structures to make exploring more fun and make you actually have to work to get some specific pokémon.
Personally I love how the devs have even confirmed that their plan for Cobblemon is to BLEND with Minecraft and not overwrite it. Ergo in future updates, your Cobblemon WILL be able to harm minecraft mobs. Want to battle a wither with your legendary? Do it. Oh and able to manually ATTACK them is also great. Just imagine adding cobblemon to a pack containing tech, magic, and exploration. Immersive Engineering, Create, Botania, Tinkers, etc. With compatibility mods to have some fun *Electric pokemon to charge machines for example*
I'm so excited to see where the developers go with this mod. It has SO MUCH potential! Its already really cool but adding a few quality of life changes and even more Pokémon will just make it even better! I'm so excited for battle animations too. I'm almost tempted to start an SMP with a bunch of creators just playing this modpack and creating our own gyms. I haven't checked yet but I really hope Metgross is in the roster rn. EDIT: BEING ABLE TO BATTLE THE ENDER DRAGON LUKE IT WAS A LEGENDARY WOULD BE SO COOL!
Something I’d like to see from the mod, is if they keep all the hostile mobs from Minecraft, I’d like to be able to have my Pokémon defend me from them. I think that’d go a long way towards making them feel more part of the world, but I think that’d be a thing to do much later as there is still so much basic stuff needing work. It's strange to see how many of the newer generations of players just can't commit move types and effects to memory, that used to be one of the core aspects of the game. Learning which move does what and what is good against something is what separated a good trainer from a bad one, and by playing the game you'd naturally learn and get better with time, clearly showing you that you've improved. Removing that and simply having the game tell you what is good and what to press removes every aspect of critical thinking from the game, I don't understand why you'd want that in an RPG. It's like playing a roguelike and every time you're offered a new power it just tells you which one is the best one so there is no point to your choice, there is nothing to learn and no aspect of growth for the player.
I think its just a quality of life thing, and like you said yourself, "new" players want it. I see no reason to keep it hidden for no reason other than to gatekeep, might as well just include it so those of us with experience can just ignore it like the games whereas new players will get a lot of use out of it.
You should mention you can possibly and likely, get any Pokémon if you find someone that made a datapack for it's model. All Pokémon are in the game, just not all have models, they use smogon data, and use the substitute model if they don't have a real model yet.
One important thing to mention is that this mod works with the Patchouli mod and this means you can have a craftable pokepedia in the game Correction: Cobblepedia is a separate mod that ads pokepedia and works using Patchouli mod

"As Cobblemon is open source" I genuinely thought all mods were open source until this made me google it. I don't understand at all why someone would EVER make a closed source mod Edit: I know some might say monetization, but you can make money just as well through things like Patreon.
Open source also make it very difficult for Nintendo to do what they do best, so Cobblemon being open source also makes it significantly safer from a cease and desist.

I don't think I've seen more fleshed out apps than certain open source ones, because if there's a problem a user who happens to know what they're doing can just say "hey, I'll add it" and bam, now it has that thing. Especially for something as complicated and expansive as Pokemon, it was definitely the right choice.

Dude, this is so outdated by now. If ya have a mind to it. I know I would watch an updated version. It has over 1000 Cobblemon (says all of them gens 1-9, but only around half have models but still spawn.) healing machine recipe changes, but master ball didn't.

It does NOT stay charged indefinitely, the recharge time decreases based on how many pokemon you have in your party tho
I feel like itd be kinda sick to have the healing station need a power source to be able to get charged

Iron leaves don't spawn naturally. You need a data pack to actually spawn Legandaries properly so I wouldn't call them complete.

Official mod packs version also has a jade/hwyla/waila addon to show nature. Etc, and some other QoL things may have been added that you mentioned.
